Ugh the digestion thing is really getting me this time. So much earlier than with DD too. Heartburn and constipation being the main culprits, sorry for the tmi! Boo.

We're generally just Ocado as we don't physically go to Waitrose but if we get any luck with the bum cream i'll get a few in and distribute if necessary Grin it is really good stuff.

Hope you're all having a good weekend. I got loads done yesterday so today spent several hours on a picnic blanket watching DD and all her mates run themselves ragged. Hopefully we'll all sleep well tonight, fingers crossed!

Lolly - definitely good to be organised but i think most twins who come really early it's a deliberate 'get them out' type situation. Most of the ones we know came as planned at 36 ish weeks xx

Oh really?! That's good to know. Next scan is on the 15th so will see what they say then. Yes I usually Ocado too unless I'm out of food then I just go to Waitrose but they are out of stock at Ocado too!! I'm sure I'll track some down but thank you.

I'm also suffering with digestion but on the heartburn front. I did get some tablet from the Dr so if I feel things heating up then I just take one and it goes away.

Glad you've had a restful day today Bear. xxx

FraggleRock77 · 07/05/2017 17:32

You poor thing Raffles and everyone else suffering with digestion issues! It's funny how different troubles can change and dominate during pregnancy. Heart burn is the worse though. I've found drinking ice cold milk before bed really helps. I love milk though. One of my friends is pregnant with twins via ivf Lolly. She's 30 weeks and has a one year old too! Not sure how she doing it myself! And still working FT. And over 40, not that age should come into it. Amazing!!x

Lolly2803 · 07/05/2017 20:01

Oh my goodness she sounds like super woman!!!! I guess people get effected by things in different ways etc but she deserves a medal by the sounds of it!!

For me the legs are the worst thing. But all worth it I hope. xxxx

Bear2014 · 08/05/2017 09:21

Crikey Fraggle, that is hard core! I wonder if she thought she would end up with 3 under 2?! No one I know who has had twins has had any more kids later on. I think that says it all Grin

Hey ladies! Hope you're enjoying the sunshine finally! I have anther question on what clothes I need....I've got babygrows I.e the ones with be long sleeves and long legs. But do I need any body suits? I.e the short sleeve ones with no legs? If they come June/July wondering if a babygrows will be too hot? Not that it's ever tropical here?!! Just the body suits don't really seem enough. What do you think?

I went to a "twins talk" at my hospital last night which was really useful. Learnt a lot which is good.
Hope you're all feeling good xxxx

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 14:39

I would probably get some - just a big cheap multipack from somewhere like Tesco or Asda. We've had some hot summers recently so you might find you want to strip them off. We lived in a really hot flat when DD was little and I remember putting her to bed in just her nappy on a few occasions. We had an insanely hot attic bedroom and the Gro Egg thermometer topped 30 degrees a few times! On a separate note I would probably invest in a good fan, one that isn't too noisy.

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 10/05/2017 14:51

I agree with Bear. We frequently put our DS to bed in just a nappy as the grow egg was glowing red in his room. We also bought a big industrial sized fan off amazon. The noise was actually relaxing and i think helped him sleep. X

Lolly2803 · 10/05/2017 14:58

Ok thanks ladies. I've bought a 5 multipack of the long leg and sleeve in tiny baby and early baby and then I'll get the same in the ones without the legs. I've got a few things for when they a few pounds heavier but said to my sis to be on standby for bringing clothes in! Hopefully this will get me through the first couple of days.
I've also bought one of those eggs. Thanks so much!! xxxx

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 14:58

Yep they love white noise, all depends on what you can tolerate while you're still sharing a room with them! I was so tired I could have slept on the runway at Heathrow, OH on the other hand hated Ewan the Dream Sheep so much she could have ripped him limb from limb Grin

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 14:59

You're v organised, good work! Don't forget, Amazon Prime, next day delivery etc is your friend when the time comes xx

FraggleRock77 · 10/05/2017 15:14

That bloody egg used to drive me and DH up the wall! It was always glowing bright red! Used to send me into panic mode!!

Lolly2803 · 10/05/2017 15:27

Hahaha I was thinking about getting one of those sheep! I can usually sleep through anything so hopefully will be ok.
Haha yer I can see the egg becoming another source of worry - does it ever end!

Movement is worrying me at the moment. Twin 1 all ok. Twin 2 which has the anterior placenta I only feel a couple of times a day. And then when I feel movement in the middle i can never tell which one it is!! Yet last night at the talk they said it's important to track movement of both twins....so hard!! Just counting down till Monday now when we have the next scan. So hoping all is ok!

RafflesMaidenSister · 10/05/2017 15:35

Lolly that must be really difficult! I am finding movement tracking hard and stressful enough with one! How much of a change is a change?! I am starting to like getting clouted in the bladder though Grin

I'm really clueless! Don't want to read too much as I'll get stressed and get the impression a lot of what is sold as essential knowledge is no such thing but have no idea how warm is too warm etc! Oh well, all things being equal I have plenty of time to figure it out. I'll maybe get Mr RMS to do it.

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 15:39

I was wondering how on earth you're supposed to know which twin is which. I simultaneously have prods in my ribs and crotch on opposite sides of my body, and that's one baby. They must seriously be running out of space in there too, which would reduce movement.

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 10/05/2017 15:57

Well I'm wondering too! I mean when it's on the far right or left I can tell. But sometimes in the middle there's a lot of commotion going on and I never know which! But Twin 1 has been consistently moving lots and Twin 2 consistently much quieter ( and with anterior placenta) so I'm more monitoring for a change in that pattern I think. It is so hard though!!! I think most stressful part of pregnancy, I knew I'd worry about it though.
Raffles I don't know anything either, no idea how warm is too warm which is why I got the egg. Although I drew the line at a bath thermometer, I'm sure I can tell if a bath is too warm!! But then again when the time comes I'll probably worry about that too!!

Mr Lolly is much more chilled and thinks we will be totally fine with everything and we will figure it out as we go along! He's focussing on the more practical things like moving house!!

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 16:10

A lot of stuff is definitely useless. As you can probably guess, Ewan the Sheep left our home shortly after he arrived. There's quite often a cheaper/free alternative. If you want to try white noise, there are free aps you can download on the iPhone - also much more portable when you go away. Bath thermometer you can definitely live without!

I quite liked the gro egg, we got an owl thing to sit on top of it and it was like a very dim night light. Most baby monitors have a thermometer function, but we stopped using that at 6 months or so and still found the egg handy.

Sure it's all fine Lolly but definitely good to have extra scans to make sure. This baby is definitely lazy compared to DD, and she had an anterior placenta which this one doesn't! I do still feel him regularly though which is re-assuring, and knowing it's just him in there I'm in no doubt he's ok.

RafflesMaidenSister · 10/05/2017 16:41

I'm definitely making a list of things recommended by Bear and Fraggle - I think personal experience has to be the best guide!

We are contemplating going to the Baby Show at the NEC in a couple of weeks, but I'm in about 27 mins as suspect it will mostly be pushing pointless crap. Anyone been to one of these jamborees?

FraggleRock77 · 10/05/2017 16:48

Babies need so little, if you can ignore being tempted by thousands of gadgets. The only thing i would wholly recommend is a Jumperoo!! Worth every penny once they're past six months. You can even pick good ones up second hand off eBay x

Lolly2803 · 10/05/2017 17:01

Yep I've been buying what you guys recommend! I've actually been quiet restraint I think. Big purchases have been 2 x sleepyheads and 2 x bouncy chairs. No real gadgets or anything apart from the egg and a medela breast pump.

Yer the extra scans are good for seeing they ok. Even if we've only had one where everything had been good. But that was the Latest ones so hopefully good news Monday.
xxx

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 17:38

Yep all good stuff. Sleepyhead we haven't yet tried but are this time. Bouncy chairs definitely. Baby gym was great (fisher price jungle gym) and jumperoo for 6 months plus as well. It's a hideous monstrosity but DD loved it. Medela breast pump, definitely worth every penny.

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 17:50

Raffles you're brave! I've never been able to face going to anything like that. There would probably be good stuff and bargains to be had but i'm sure you would have to be disciplined to avoid the hard sell, too...

OP posts:
MrsCrabtree · 10/05/2017 21:07

Lots of updates! Lolly it must be sooo tricky monitoring two lots of movement. I seem to be getting more little movements and fewer big kicks the last few days, but I'm thinking maybe baby has just moved round. I assume I'm only really supposed to worry if I feel nothing? Plus I'm only 25 weeks, isn't it later i'm supposed to start counting?

Re breast pumps, I had read the Medela (swing?) is the best one but husband read something saying it's only compatible with medela bottles - is that right? Defo useful to have personal recommendations Smile

Bear2014 · 10/05/2017 21:41

Mrscrab I don't know about that - i just pumped into those freezer bag thingies (then at a later date, DD rejected the bottle and it went down the sink). The pumps themselves are great anyway.

Sorry just a quick one from me.. will read through thread properly later..

@lolly couldn't help but see you have been worried about movement. I have literally been in and out of triage every other day over last two weeks and every time they do emphasise the need to go back if you are worried.
Mine is that one of my twins is squishing the other it seems but the pattern of movements keep changing due to this.. it's so hard :(
