Monkey, I'm signed off with HG which I never thought I'd say I'm pleased about!! Smile don't think I could function in work as my mind is just all foggy :(

minkfondant · 20/07/2017 14:22

Thank you so much for your kind words @Ginlinessisnexttogodliness @weasledee @Monkeypuzzle32 @PingusMistress - I've turned up again like a bad penny, because the red spotting turned brown and slowed down, and a test still showed a strong positive. GP said we should consider the pregnancy ongoing, unless and until it turns into "significant loss and significant pain". EPU aren't interested at this early stage (4.5wks) of course, and a scan wouldn't show anything anyway.

Feeling a bit baffled by the whole thing, as I'd spent a tearful evening coming to terms with the idea that I was miscarrying again. And I probably am, because it's aching and still spotting, which is how my 2nd mc a few years ago started. Trying not to have false hope. Confused Just have to take it one hour at a time, I suppose.

So glad you're signed off weasle and not having to try to concentrate on all that, at least. When is your appointment tomorrow, is it morning? Sending lots of moral support Flowers

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 21/07/2017 09:15

@minkfondant crikey you're on a real rollercoaster then?
It's very intense and worrying the first trimester in particular for these reasons, I had a massive bleed at eight weeks and was convinced I'd lost the baby, he's a high octane 3 and a half year old now. Best of luck and keep us posted x

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 21/07/2017 09:16

@weasledee just wanted to write and wish you good luck for today's appointment 💐

weasledee · 21/07/2017 09:23

Thanks a lot Flowers

minkfondant · 21/07/2017 10:11

Thank you @Ginlinessisnexttogodliness , that's really good to hear.

Thinking of you today @weasledee Flowers

Iusuallylovecake · 21/07/2017 13:05

Hi all
Just popped back to see how you're all doing and can see it's a worrying time for some. Sending hugs and positive thoughts especially to weasledee and minkfondant Flowers
weasledee I've been in very similar place, I hope all is positive. My thoughts are with you today xx

Monkeypuzzle32 · 21/07/2017 13:11

Minkfondant yay!!!!!

weasledee · 21/07/2017 14:27

Hi ladies,
It's not good. Still measures 6mm and the doctor (who was lovely) explained baby has excessive fluid everywhere. She said the placenta was very big and this can also be an indicator of chromosomal problem. Going to have cvs in approx 10 days, she feels I could miscarry before. I know in my heart this baby isn't going to make it..... :(
I feel doctor has an inclination of what is wrong as she said she felt the problem wasn't age related.....

Monkeypuzzle32 · 21/07/2017 14:58

weasledee im so sorry to hear that-what does it mean? that the baby is likely to have Downs Syndrome? (no one jump on me if Ive not used the correct term!) or something else? Its such a horrible situation to be in-I dont know if its worse or 'better' not being age related.
How did your DP take it?

weasledee · 21/07/2017 15:05

I think it's something else, nothing with a happy ending though :(
I'm in a daze but husband appears to be in denial. We both handle things very differently, I'm more a realist, he'd rather keep thinking everything is ok till it's finally over..... :(

Monkeypuzzle32 · 21/07/2017 15:34

you sound like me and my husband! did the consultant explain your options? damn heartbreaking all round Weasle-Im sorry I cant say anything more constructive-me and my husband did discuss what our thoughts were if this happened but we are not you and you have to do what is the best in the horrible circumstances for you both x

minkfondant · 21/07/2017 16:08

So sorry you had difficult news to mull over weasle. Hope you're doing ok this afternoon. Big hugs to you. Take good care of yourself while you wait for the cvs. Flowers

Hi weasle such sad news. We had exactly the same at our 12 week scan a few years a go, excess fluid all round. It was a different abnormality to downs and if you want to chat at all just message me if you think it would help. Have you been given a specialist midwife to talk to?? She really helped us go through options and helped us understand what was going on. Take care of yourself as much as you can. Xx Flowers

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 21/07/2017 17:10

@weasledee oh no I'm so sorry to read this, was so hoping you'd get more encouraging news 💐💐

Cineraria · 22/07/2017 17:08

So sorry to hear your sad news from your scan weasle. It's devastating to get bad news at that scan when you're hoping for the reassurance that everything is ok after the stress of not knowing what's going on inside for several months.

Really glad your doctor was so nice though and hoping your ongoing care will be similar as you deal with such a difficult situation.

Fingers crossed for you Mink. I had a bad bleed with DS at six weeks and when I lost a clot the size of a sausage, I was convinced it was all over but the sonographer found a little heartbeat two days later and told us he'd dug in so deep that he'd made a bit of mess and I'd expelled it with some fresh blood from where it was attached. He's still an expert mess maker now that he's a few months short of turning two!

PingusMistress · 23/07/2017 21:18

So sorry to hear that news @weasledee . Also sorry that you have to wait so long for CVS, I don't understand why they can't do these things quicker as the not knowing must be mental torture, and the stress can't be good for mum or baby regardless of the outcome.

@minkfondant hope everything is still okay and no more bleeding. God, those first 12 weeks are just so horrible! Keeping everything crossed for you.

weasledee · 23/07/2017 21:49

You're so right pingus, we're living in limbo.... plus my little bump is getting noticeable :(
It's a small hospital and the doctor that does them isn't available this week ironically.
We have another scan in the week and we're going to get an appointment for next week then :(

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 23/07/2017 22:22

@weasledee all that waiting is awful. It must be unbearable. Not knowing is worse than knowing in many ways, all the different scenarios running through your head.

How have you been over the weekend? I hope you've got some rest.
What day is your scan?

poppypopsicle · 24/07/2017 20:28

Hi. Just popped back(now I'm starting to feel up to looking at a screen again and not just being asleep all the time) to see how everyone's doing and so sorry to hear all the worries.

Hope you're managing to get by and getting lots of tlc at home weasledee the waiting sounds horrendous. Thinking of you and sending big hugs.

I hope your cold and infection are clearing up ginliness and your kids are letting you have a bit of time to yourself (crazy idea?). I sent mine to a free sports camp today even tho I'm off, just for some very guilty peace and quiet.
Hope everything ok with you too mink. That first trimester waiting is so distressing.

Xx

weasledee · 25/07/2017 14:17

More bad news ladies...
Blood results back and 1:5 for Edwards or patau..... :(

Monkeypuzzle32 · 25/07/2017 14:55

Is that 1 in 5? Sorry to hear it weasle really sorry, it's awful especially as there's nothing you can do-look after yourself and your DP

minkfondant · 25/07/2017 16:07

Oh no. So sorry to hear that weasle Sad That is awful news. Hope you're getting the support you need from the consultant and team. Thinking of you and your dp.

Iusuallylovecake · 25/07/2017 18:04

So sorry weasle had been hoping for better news for you. Take care of yourself Flowers
