I haven't had that one ja73....is it painful?

My cravings were Worcester source flavour crisps with my first!

ja73 · 25/05/2017 12:00

Ooh, I love Worcester sauce flavoured crisps!

It's not painful, just irritating. Enough to keep me awake sometimes. I guess I'll find out more at the next scan and whether baby is alright and has simply taken up pole-dancing off my belly button!

Teabagtits · 25/05/2017 20:36

I'm craving crushed ice and frazzles. Was fresh orange in 1st & 2nd trimester which goes beautifully with crushed ice. Also great for this heat. I usually love heat but I'm really not enjoying it today :(

Cineraria · 26/05/2017 18:05

Mine would have been a paddling pool full of fruit salad and a metal cup of Mumbai tap water! Somehow I went for the full sensory experience rather than just the taste. I didn't get either, although DH took me to the cinema to see the second Marigold Hotel film that features a scene with Judi Dench drinking a metal cup of Mumbai tap water, which was rubbing it in a bit.

I had my anomaly scan yesterday and a cardiac scan too as I have a slightly high risk of Downs Syndrome in this pregnancy. Apart from having to go and get a cold sweet drink to get the baby moving out of some advanced yoga position he was in, all went well. They saw all they need to and found no concerns. It's a boy and a tall one, judging by femur length and there were no visible markers for Downs Syndrome either.

DS wasn't impressed by the lack of Disney characters on any of the four screens in the room!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2017 05:12

@cineraria glad scan went well. At our age we are all higher risk tho have a friend who was 34 who had a baby with downs - who is adorable

At 43 I feel grateful that dd is healthy and although downs wouldn't have bothered me as just wanted to be a mum, it is a reason that I feel blessed to have one child after many years of ttc and failed ivf and as would be almost 45 If got preg now I'm not going to risk it again iyswim

Pmsl at no disney for eldest 😂😂

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 27/05/2017 11:24

I am so sick of this heat.
I've also now to go to and be examined by a consultant next week for a suspected vaginal wall prolapse.
Happy days.

Hope everyone is having s good weekend and not off colour in the heat xxx

Teabagtits · 28/05/2017 19:59

Heats been too much for me this time but not helped by incessant restless legs and horrific piles :(

ja73 · 31/05/2017 18:15

Well thankfully the heat didn't last - or at least not here in the west midlands! That was summer folks. Hope you enjoyed it! ;)

Hope everything is okay @ginlinessisnexttogodliness. It certainly doesn't sound pleasant :(

I had my dating scan yesterday. All went well and baby is developing as s/he should. Now the anxious 2 week wait for those Downs etc results. Ugh.

Is it just me or is it the case that if you're over 40, antenatal clinics specialise in putting the fear of god into you! I must have heard the words "high risk" 30 times as I was shuffled around the clinic! Great that they're so diligent but I came out traumatised!!!! Aaarrrgghhh!

Cineraria · 31/05/2017 21:17

Sorry to hear they have you a hard time over your age, ja. The midwives at our local antenatal clinic are so nice about it. They usually point out "look, you have only one risk ticked on the list and you need three to be high risk, so you're low risk and will see us not the consultant apart from one appointment at 36 weeks to discuss what happens if the baby isn't here by the due date". I think there are a lot of mums my age here so they are used to it and can't treat us all as high risk unless we have other health concerns.

The midwife at the GP surgery (we are supposed to book all our remaining appointments there after our anomaly scan to give us consistency of care) was more doom and gloom about it though, although very nice and good at her job. I mentioned it in passing at my last appointment at the antenatal clinic a few weeks ago and the midwife said "Oh you don't want that, do you. Book with us instead. She always gets overbooked anyway!" Such a relief!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/05/2017 21:59

Yes got mentioned every visit I was high risk tho I did tick 3/4 boxes

All it meant was that I got scans and chats with consultant every 3w. Reassured me tbh

Teabagtits · 01/06/2017 01:09

I'm high risk for number of health reasons but it was only mentioned at booking and the only comment I've had about age that was negative was from an arsehole doctor who was rude about everything. Other comments around age have been that I'm definitely not the oldest in their clinic and in fact I'm still young (at 41). I do see a consultant at every appointment but I don't mind as ive had no complications so it's all very straightforward.

I only have three weeks to go before my section now. Eek. 21st June. Can't believe it's almost time!

Iusuallylovecake · 01/06/2017 06:01

I've not really had it mentioned too much, they've said I'm not the oldest they've seen so makes me feel a little better!!!!
1 week to go!!!!!! V scary now!!!!!

Gizmojo · 01/06/2017 12:28

Nobody seems to care about my age (though I've got to deliver by edd), it's my pre-pregnancy weight they seem unable to stop going on about. Oo, very close for you cakes and teabag!

Thanks for the comments earlier in the post to everyone
shortbread74 my obs is providing regular scans for me every 2 weeks and now referred to get CGT scans daily. I did ask if we could have further diagnosis without aminosis but there isn't anything else to confirm chromosome issues. I do feel anxious as to the end result as my recent growth scan at 27 weeks shows the following measurements :

HC 254.4 mm
AC 218.4 mm
FL 46.7mm

I'm 5ft 4 and currently weigh 8stone 9 and my build is slim and bump looks small... Any help with these stats appreciated

weasledee · 04/06/2017 07:18

After aprils miscarriage I was very happy to see this today.... didn't get past the 1-2 weeks screen last time :)

mightymouse76 · 04/06/2017 10:35

Hi everyone
Quick 👋🏼 as not been keeping up

I was told by my hospital that I was young at 40, and their oldest new mum was 54. I thought sod it, I'll put my feet up then and wait for the severe morning sickness, diabetes and birth trauma to fade into a distant memory before considering doing this again!!

Congrats @weasledee and good luck. That was the first screen I saw and the results are snoring away next to me.

Keeping fingers crossed for all of you on this thread!

Welcome aboard @cabininthewoods2016 :) hope you're doing okay?

weasledee · 05/06/2017 19:35

Urgh, just thought I'd share with the group that the HG started in force today! Feel rotten, and I'd promised the boys a trip to the play centre so I got stuck in the play centre from hell for 2 hours!!! (Felt like 2 years!)

Teabagtits · 06/06/2017 23:54

Weasledee - get yourself antiemetics from the doctor. If it's true HG you have the sooner you get started on them the better. Also means if they're reluctant to give you anything you've started on at them now and can get the medicines sooner in future visits (if they're anything like my Drs)

My oh is on night shift this week and the ward is understaffed so hoping that the strong BH I'm experiencing stay irregular as there's no one to look after my little girl if I need to go into hospital. A relative was meant to be available but has d&v and can't leave the house & my mum who was meant to be around for emergencies this week is now having to work 200 miles away. Yay!

Iusuallylovecake · 08/06/2017 14:05

Interesting developments today! Due to go for c section but final scan this morning and he's turned!!! Now been induced and got to wait . . .

Teabagtits · 08/06/2017 14:30

Oooh best of luck cake

weasledee · 08/06/2017 15:21

Good luck cake!

Gizmojo · 08/06/2017 16:58

Oh wow, good luck cake!

How are you doing, teabags? Still got the BH? Did I imagine it or are you due for a CS soon too?
