Thanks StAlphonzo you're correct! It's at 1.10 and I am frantically keeping myself busy so I don't start crying with nerves 😕 Thanks for the well wishes x

Jojones210476 · 03/05/2017 11:04

Hope all went well @ginliness!!!!!

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 03/05/2017 14:44

Thanks Ladies!
Scan went well. NT measurement 1.7 and baby measuring 12 w 3 days so two days ahead. Very long limbs and practically doing cartwheels in there.
Wept with relief like a big wuss.

Just need good blood results now. Fingers crossed.

ja73 · 03/05/2017 15:00

Yay! Fantastic news Ginliness Smile!

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 03/05/2017 15:09

Hooray! Really pleased for you

PingusMistress · 03/05/2017 18:42

Lovely to hear your happy news gin!

Good luck with the new freelance job seacow. I left the comfort of big corporations to go freelance 18 months ago, it is the best work move I ever made. It's great to be your own boss, especially when you have little ones!

I got a letter today with the results of my NT test, but all it says is "low risk". I'm sure I got numbers last time with DD. Did anyone else get given the risk numerically?

PingusMistress · 04/05/2017 08:10

I had a lovely dream last night. I was drinking champagne and getting tipsy.

Oh well, only six more months (plus breastfeeding time) until I can do it for real ...

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 04/05/2017 10:17

as my username suggests my equivalent dreams feature gin, *@PingusMistress *
OH had a one last night and I was beyond jealous.

That's great news re your low risk letter. With my previous two I was always told the risk numerically but perhaps this has changed now. I'm dreading the wait - or lack of - for mine.

Thanks for the shout outs* @StAlphonzospancakebreakfast @ja73* , one hurdle jumped over just another zillion to go!

Hope everyone has a nice day x

Ooh, drinking dreams. Can I order one, please to tide me over? Pregnancy dreams are so vivid, aren't they? Last night I dreamt DS (who had come to sleep in our bed as we couldn't settle him) pushed me out of the bed and said "Mummum, go in my bedroom!" and I woke up this morning thinking he was able to talk. His only words so far are mummum, yum yum and burp. He is mainly motivated by his digestive system! I keep telling myself he didn't really say that but my brain doesn't quite believe me.

Pingusmistress, I had my nuchal results as a ratio on each of my pregnancies including this one. Maybe the midwife will give you the numerical result at the 16 week appointment. I think you are supposed to review results with them then, although where we are we get the results printed from the hospital on the day of the scan and take it to the midwife to review.

ChristmasSeacow · 04/05/2017 17:54

Gin is the nectar of the gods. Fact. I might have a tonic with ice and slice tonight, in fact, just to pretend.

Brilliant news on the scan Gin. Such a relief and I know you were braced for the worst.

Well, 2 days of project and commuting done and I think I am broken. The SPD is okay in the morning but pretty bad by the end of the day. By the time I get home I can hardly walk, or even sit comfortably. I am consoling myself with the fact that they are paying me very well and as I am not getting mat pay that's a massive bonus.

I am now looking for a cleaner though Wink.

Hospital deny all knowledge of my physio referral from the consultant so that's great Confused.

Growth scan tomorrow so another chance to see Frogmella.

ChristmasSeacow · 04/05/2017 17:55

God yes to ridiculously vivid pregnancy dreams!

Iusuallylovecake · 04/05/2017 20:21

Evening all!! Great news gin such a relief for you!
I was at midwife today (34+3 how did that happen??!!) Sproglet is still breech Confused and seeming to be quite comfortable there. Anyone any ideas on ways to turn him without resorting to medical intervention??? Worried I'm going to end up with c section at the mo . . .

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/05/2017 23:10

@penguis. I was 1 in 500 and 43

@christmas. I love gin and havnt Obv had any while preg

I had my first gin last sat in a pub with df and fast asleep in buggy

I didn't enjoy it :(

Hope my taste buds go back to normal

ChristmasSeacow · 05/05/2017 00:25

Oh no blondes, that's awful. Never mind my vaginal prolapse from DC1, that is a nightmare pregnancy legacy.

Maybe they gave you flat warm tonic. Maybe a perfect refreshing gin will still hit the spot? I will be thinking of you Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2017 04:20

Total nightmare 😱😱😱😱

Felt very 😢🙄 at leaving it and cost £6 😂

Only drank water during preg and then towards end black tea or lemonade - due to severe hg sickness

Guess tummy isn't up to booze yet 😳🙄😱

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 05/05/2017 09:14

@Blondeshavemorefun I worship at the altar of gin but she,Dom order one in a pub. They're often dreadful. Wet glass, wet ice, awful tonic, they put lemon in I could go on.
The very best two gin ad tonics I've ever had in my life were the ones OH made me after out first two chicks hatched. I literally necked them.

@PingusMistress did you know you can breastfeed and have a drink too. Not that I'm a you'd have to drink enough alcohol to qualify for total pissed up-ness to even risk the baby getting some. Bloodstream which is what the advice is based on, look up Dr a jack New,and or Emily Oster both very illuminating, there as a scientific experiment a breastfeeding women conducted.... have a read.

So you can have that fizz sooner than you think 🤗

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 05/05/2017 09:14

SheDom was supposed to read seldom.Hmm

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 05/05/2017 09:17

@pingu sorry that was gibberish. You'd think I'd been drinking. It was meant to read " not that I'm a dipsomaniac" And further on "breastmilk absorption is different to bloodstream which is what the advice is based upon."
Sorry.
I blame my daughter who's coveting my iPad

PingusMistress · 05/05/2017 20:49

Hee hee @Ginlinessisnexttogodliness , isn't it annoying being preggo as you can't even blame the drink for doing/typing daft things! Smile

Nice to know that the views on drinking and breastfeeding have eased up a bit now. Although I remember not being that bothered about drinking much when DD was very little anyway, as I was so nervous about doing something wrong all the time that I was too scared to let my hair down until she was about 6 months. My sister told me her breastmilk went pink after too much red wine!

Just checked and I did get a letter of the NT results with numbers in 3 years ago, same hospital. It makes me wonder if I'm close to the high/low risk border. Hopefully I'll find out in a fortnight at my 16 week midwife appointment.

ChristmasSeacow · 05/05/2017 21:10

Hi Oriana. Congratulations. Why the panic - are you worried about the pregnancy because of your age, was it a surprise, are you worried about having another little one... ??

Jojones210476 · 05/05/2017 23:49

Hi Oriana, welcome!!! How can we help, what's bothering you? Sending hugs!!!

Teabagtits · 06/05/2017 00:27

Oriana I was terribly worried in first trimester and While i think lots of that was rational, the majority was actually my hormones making it worse. I was given great advice when I joined here to allow myself 5mins each day to worry and only within those 5 minutes. Outwith that it was to be life as normal and que sera - it really helped me. And congratulations!!!

rabbitstail · 06/05/2017 10:19

Morning all! Can I join the Gin loving club?! 5weeks and counting....
