Hey gizmojo I was wondering how you were doing. You've been quiet lately

Jojones210476 · 30/04/2017 01:15

I can't believe I finally get to post here!!! 41 and after 19 months I finally got my BFP!!! I'm hoping and praying this little bean is sticky!!! It's weird but so far I have had zero symptoms the only reason I tested was due to an elevated bbt 😊

erjahmjaaskelainen68 · 30/04/2017 06:51

Hi my Husband to be and I have just found out that I am pregnant at 49 conceived naturally and we are expecting twins. Our due date is around December 4.
We are shocked but overjoyed. These babies are the first and second for us.

Cineraria · 30/04/2017 07:57

Another new joiner here! I'm 42 and my second baby is due on the 4th of October a week after my son's second birthday. I hope he'll enjoy being a big brother.

Wishing everyone well.

Hi I'm new to MN. I am a FTWM I have been TTC for 3 months now. I have a DS aged 5 and I wasnt going to have anymore kids due to having horrendous postnatal depression with DS. We are so excited now as to what the future holds. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but I've had negative comments from some people saying but your 40 now surely you dont want anymore kids, saying to bear in mind my bodyclock etc. Im 1 & 1/2 st overweight due to 2 disc bulges in my back & not been allowed to do my normal level of activity and ive heard about gestational diabetes (hope ive spelt it correctly). Is anyone knowledgeable about this and the effects it may cause future baby. I live about 30 minutes drive from my local Mothercare Smile

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 30/04/2017 09:22

Lots of new joiners! Hello and congratulations everyone :)

I had good news from my Harmony, all low risk. Plus I found out it's a little girl (which DD was fist pumping about but DS was a bit disappointed. I think he's ok now though). I got the results just before I went out for my 40th birthday meal so I could enjoy my non alcoholic cocktails a bit more with less worry

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 30/04/2017 11:44

Congratulations all the newcomers!
StAphonzo great news about your Harmony test 😊

Three days to go until my dating scan and nerves have kicked in big time.

Iusuallylovecake · 01/05/2017 07:57

Good morning all and congratulations to all newcomers!!! How is everyone doing??
Hope you all manage to enjoy the bank holiday!!

ja73 · 01/05/2017 08:40

Huge congratulations to the newbies! Smile. Great to read about the good news in here. It keeps me positive.

Scans are something I'm learning to look forward to, and dread, in equal measure. Our early scan gave us good news (pregnancy fine) and bad (ovarian cyst which has to be removed during pregnancy, meaning risk of mc). The next scan is 3 weeks away, and I feel even more nauseous than I already do thinking about it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday. I confess mine is being spent mostly with my head down the loo in a state of exhaustion. Keeping this secret from family and friends is getting harder as I swerve the booze and make endless trips to the bathroom! Not sure when to tell work but it might have to be soon - ugh!

Jojones210476 · 01/05/2017 12:10

Hi all, I definitely spoke too soon, I swear my boobs are on fire 🔥. BFP at 8dpo I think I was symptomless due to hcg levels being low as it was so early!! Having bloods this Thursday. Congratulations to all the newcomers 💐

PingusMistress · 01/05/2017 14:27

Hello and welcome to all the new joiners! Great to see that there are so many of us Smile

I'm 14+2 now and I think I felt the baby move for the first time yesterday. It's my second so I've read you can feel it a bit earlier on subsequent pregnancies. Does that seem plausible or is it all in my head?

Also my friend who is 46 just gave birth to her first baby, a little girl. They had been trying for years. A positive story for us all to take heart from.

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 01/05/2017 17:52

@pingus I swear I felt this one (3rd) moving at 13 weeks, it may well have been in my head but felt so recognisable! So maybe you are. It's quite nice to think you are even if you aren't, haha

Jojones210476 · 02/05/2017 04:22

I have a quick question, I would really appreciate any advice!!! I thought I would get one of those conception indicating tests, I did the test mid morning and it states 3-4 weeks but I ovulated on the 19/4 so it should be 1-2 weeks shouldn't it?

Brugmansia · 02/05/2017 08:23

So my stay on this thread is over for now. I started cramping and bleeding yesterday and am now passing biggish clots.

Good luck everyone and hopefully I'll be back in a few months.

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 02/05/2017 08:55

@brugsmansia, so sorry to hear that, hope to see you back here soon

@jojones I don't know but assume that the test bases it on the first day of your last period, so if you ovulated on the 19th you are around 3/4 weeks pregnant (depending on your usual cycle length). If you are sure that's when you ovulated then you must have really high hormone levels to get a +ve this early...twins? Wink

ja73 · 02/05/2017 09:00

Brugmansia - I am so sorry to hear this. Terribly sad news. Look forward to seeing you back on this thread soon! Keep positive :)

Welcome to the new people - so many I am having trouble keeping up. Gives hope to all us geriatrics.

ErJah twins! Eek. I am an older sister to twins, it's a handful but a lot of fun. Good luck with the pregnancy and beyond!

I am 32+1 and just started a new job today Hmm. Long story but I was offered some freelance work and couldn't really turn it down. The commute home from c. London almost did me in though - sooo crowded and I am not enjoying walking at the moment with SPD stabbing me in the nethers. All in a good cause though - if I can do this 2-3 days pw for 5 weeks I've calculated I can stay off work till next autumn when baby is 1 (and after enjoying the summer with DS too). So worth it. Gritting teeth.

I think I am eating antacid tablets in my sleep now, the indigestion just doesn't let up. Can't wait to meet this baby on so many levels apart from the fact that we still haven't cleared and decorated the spare room for her

Teabagtits · 02/05/2017 23:57

Hello all newbies.
Condolences for those who've miscarried.

christmas hope the new job is going well. I hear you re:antacids. I need shares in Rennies. How are you discomfort-wise? It's kicking in big style for me and is agony trying to turn over in bed. I feel like I have forever still to go.

When I was ttc and suffering loss and being told I couldn't have any more children I swore I wouldn't complain if I got pregnant but I feel that's all I'm doing now. I'm so grateful for this baby but I'm so done with pregnancy and piles

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 03/05/2017 08:57

Good luck with your scan today @ginliness (if I have the dates right)
