trixy - how did the cranial osteopath go??

Loulee · 03/06/2007 10:27

midnight - we have the same problem - just can't decide where to move to - everywhere feels like a compromise as we can't afford what we want. Don't envy you - we're putting it off again, but really should start.....

yes, leaving them to start is weird - and now it's "Bye mummy" - weird too!

midnightexpress · 03/06/2007 10:58

Isn't it ghastly Loulee? And last thing I feel like doing at the weekends is trailing around looking at unsuitable places to live. Let alone decorating this place. Ugh.

Still, if my two can thrash WOs DP and DS at poker perhaps we can afford to go and buy a mansion in Pollokshields. We'll let you have the west wing if you like.

GMM thanks for the info about the thing in the park - looks like fun.

trixymalixy · 03/06/2007 11:45

Hi there,

Was really nice to see all the bumps and bairns and mummies on Thursday!

Thanks for the tea tallulah and sorry i didn't get a chance to talk to you Loulee. You're both looking fab, am quite of your bumps. I miss being pregnant!

WO, I was very impressed with the cranial osteopath. It's a bit early to tell yet whether it has made that much difference and we have another appointment next week, but I am very hopeful.

She said he has sinus congestion which is making it difficult to breathe when he is feeding and his diaphraghm (sp?) is tight so he can't eat a lot. He also holds his breathe when he has wind which makes it more painful for him. Hence the fussiness while feeding.

He was absolutely terrible the day after, really tired and grumpy and wanting to feed all the time, although that could have been a growth spurt. But yesterday he had two naps of an hour and a half (!!) during the day and I didn't have to spend 20 mins getting him to sleep at night.

Am hoping this will continue!!

Saying that he has just woken up after only 20 mins nap .

Vio

I've never 'spoken' to you befoe but I've just read your thread and my heart is breking for you. I know that's selfish as I cannot begin to imagine how you must be feeling. I just wanted to say i'm thinking of you and I'll say a prayer for you and precious James tonight x

weeonion · 06/06/2007 08:23

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/06/2007 11:18

Waiting for more than sunshine around here WeeOnion

weeonion · 06/06/2007 11:26

hey tallua - i was thining about you this monring. you are due tomorow?? how yu doing?

OP posts:
geordiemacminx · 06/06/2007 12:21

oooooh I had forgotten you were due this week... I'm all excited now.... I think we need a pink one to even things up a bit in Glasgow!!!

Any signs yet?

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/06/2007 18:04

Doing fine. Due Fri but getting impatient already. No signs as yet. Will let you all know once things kick off.

midnightexpress · 07/06/2007 10:42

Hi all - thinking of you Tallulah, and hope the wait won't be too much longer for you. That EDD date gets stuck in your head doesn't it, and every day you have to wait after it seems like an eternity (mine went just after and just before so relatively lucky not having to wait too long, but can only imagine what another two weeks must be like).

Mine both poorly: Sam has hand, foot, mouth disease (nothing to do with cows) and also fell off a slide yesterday and scratched his shnozzle, so looking a right state. Meanwhile, little bro has come out in sympathy and is running a fever - keeps falling asleep, which sounds better than it is. Poor little monkeys. Anyway, my mum is around this week so not completely alone with my two wee invalids.

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/06/2007 11:10

Hope your wee ones feel better soon Midnight.

Yes - problem with due date is no one tells the baby.

Loulee · 07/06/2007 17:20

ooh yes Tallulah, forgot you were so soon. Let us know when things get started! Makes me panic cos I know I'm not that long after you - and i want more time!!!

weeonion · 07/06/2007 22:32

hey folks - how are you all? poor sam and bro - hope they are both better tonight.
tulla - you relaxing??

loulee - the eyes will be on you next!

trixy - how are you doign - how has he been after last week?

we spent the day out and about. baby massage at 9.30, breastfeeding support 11-12.30 and then antenatal group meet up 2- 5. i am shattered and so is caoimhe. she is right narky tonight - not like her. we have similar days tomorrow and saturday. i dont think i will last....

i have just thrown a bag of washing out the wondow - not in a moment of madness but it was the only way i could think to get it down to the midden for me to dash down and hang on the line with a wee one. what dothe rest of you do that live in tenements??

OP posts:
TALLULAHBELLE · 07/06/2007 23:03

LOL WO - at u and ur washing. I hadn't thought of that. I use pulley, radiators, clotheshorse etc as too lazy to cart it all down there and it always starts to rain the moment I get back upstairs.Don't know how will manage once have to do tons of baby washing, & had hoped to use washable nappies at some point. Will keep your technique in mind tho'

Due date tomorrow. Have m/w appt so hopefully will have been magically contracting & dilating without noticing for last week and she will send me straight to QMH for immediate delivery!

weeonion · 07/06/2007 23:58

ok - i am away to magically wish tulla's cervix to be dilated! if it isnt bythe monring - i will want to know why. hope it all goes ok - let us know the news - that is if you arent whisked in for the immediate delivery...

also - in my last post - it sounded like i was going to hang the washing on the line along with my wee one. i hasten to point out that she is not dried in this fashion...

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 08/06/2007 08:51

lol at WO and her washing. We had our kitchen redone just before Sam was born and the best piece of advice I got at the time was to make room for a tumble drier. We've got a pulley too though - have you got one WO? Having said all that, I sympathise with your plight as face much the same thing with carrying the 2 LOs up and down the stairs (1 child = 1 bag of washing, only a bit wrigglier). And haven't yet found a good solution except to move house, as throwing one of them out the window clearly not an option.

Boys much better now, though Jacob is officially The Child Who Doesn't Sleep. Screamed his head off for three hours last night (and i mean screamed), conked out, awake every two hours all night still and then up at 5am bright as a button. Unlike his mother, who is on her knees. Contemplating cranial osteopathy, so will be interested to see how you get on Trixy. We took Sam to one when he was wee, but on reflection I'm not sure there was anything wrong with him beyond normal baby behaviour. Unlike his brother.

Get on that exercise ball tallulah and get bouncing.

Right, am off to hypnotise Jacob. Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, you are feeling veeeery sleepy.

geordiemacminx · 08/06/2007 09:04

Ok at the risk of sounding like a very bad mammy... can you not put them in the cot while you hang washing out... make sure the door is locked obviously.... take baby monitor with you? Or is that really bad? Should I expect social services round soon?

liath · 08/06/2007 09:10

Knowing me I'd have locked myself out of the flat if I'd done that GMM!

I must say I found the combination of second floor flat & baby a challenge. Glad we moved. Still have an irrational fear of accidentally locking myself out of the house and the kids inside.

Loulee · 08/06/2007 10:14

Glad your wee ones are feeling better midnight - is ds2 teething?

re: washing, I used to put the sling on to hang out the washing + take LO with me. Now we have an expedition to hang out the washing - it takes ages - but they think it's really exciting

Anjo1 · 08/06/2007 18:37

hey everyone , hope you're all well
Tallulah , how are you getting on ? if you have'nt gone yet , sounds like a cliche but, enjoy it and take it easy easier said than done , I know .
how are your boys doing today Midnight ? hope they are better .
GMM - you back from your mums' ? hope you had a good trip .
we're all fine here , Ds has decided he does not sleep on his back anymore , and all attempts to make him do that are futile so , I'm going to give up trying . a bit scary though cause of the SIDS risk , but honestly nothing at all I can do , he flips himself over even in his sleep ! so looks like I'm going to have to sleep with one eye open for a while .
weekend is here !! hope you all have a fabby one hopefully with tonnes of sunshine!!
xxxx

midnightexpress · 08/06/2007 19:45

Anjo - Sam did exactly the same, as soon as he could roll over he started sleeping on his front, despite all our efforts to stop him. I was told that once they're able to roll over it's not such a risk, because they can always roll out of trouble. It's more of a problem when they get stuck on their front and can't roll over. One of my pals has found that the only way to get her wee one to sleep is on his front and her DH is a doctor, so I guess it'll be OK.

Boys OK but spotty. Both asleep before 8pm, oh bliss.

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/06/2007 20:20

Hi Anjo - still here.

Due today but nada. Had m/w appt, she offered a sweep but I declined cos haven't had any pains or niggles yet so just don't think this wee one ready to come yet. Maybe I'm just being a shitebag though Have been booked in for induction next Sat so hopefully won't come to that.

geordiemacminx · 08/06/2007 20:40

I had a sweep - Chsrlie came 4 days later.... they dont induce you til 10 days after your edd here though....

Go to ikea, I did that, went into labour that night

midnightexpress · 09/06/2007 08:23

Stomp up and down some hills Tallulah (not Ben Nevis, you understand, just some of those hills in town or in a park) - worked for me. Pineapples supposed to be good too, though I didn't try. Ikea probably enough to send anyone into labour though! Especially if you go at the weekend.
