Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Hi all! I've followed a few of you from the conception tread (where I was a big time lurker 😁)!

I got my BFP last Thursday and I've been trying to figure out how many weeks I am. It's hard to date as I have such irregular periods (31, 43, 36, 46 day cycles since I've been off the pill!). I could be 6 weeks if we go by LMP but who knows! I've taken about 6 tests and all positive so fingers crossed it sticks!

Getting a blood test done today and seeing my doctor next Monday. Ahh so exciting! No symptoms except for being SUPER tired all the time. I had to take a nap during the day and I never do that. Boobs still on the small side and no vomiting yet. We'll see when that kicks in.

sophr2017 · 13/03/2017 09:09

Congratulations Sarmi! I dated from the first day of my last period, as my cycles were a mess after coming off the pill, and when I had my early scan a few weeks ago she said I had my dating spot on, so think that's a pretty sure way to know!

I've got my first booking in app today and feeling pretty nervous actually. I have a real phobia about giving bloody, can handle injections etc just that, and think they may need to do that today! So what with the morning sickness and anxiety about that I am feeling awful! Fingers crossed all goes ok!

Shamoffour · 13/03/2017 09:10

I'm not a first time pregnant person but I have had 4 children and the only piece of advice I would offer is for gods sake step away from those awful clear blue digitals. They are notoriously unreliable. The early stages of pregnancy are worrying enough without those things I really think they should be banned.
Misty I'm sure everything is fine so many things can affect the result what time you test, how much water you have drunk literally anything. Unfortunately I've also had 3 mcs as well and I did not get any " less pregnant" on a digitals.
Hope everyone has lovely easy pregnancies and congratulationsFlowers

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 09:11

Congratulations Sarmi! I'm like that, could be five weeks today but then I could be 9! You'll have to keep us updated! Good luck Soph! Impatiently waiting for my doctor to call me back about getting bloods done Grin

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 09:12

Sham that's why I've stayed away because I've heard bad things about them and I think it's make me panic more!

MistyBxx · 13/03/2017 10:56

Hey girlies so I phoned the midwife again this morning and explained about the test. She said there is absolutely nothing that she or anyone can do until I'm at least 7 weeks. She said there's no point booking me in any earlier, there's no point going to a doctors or anything, she said the fact I'm not cramping or bleeding is good and that my boobs are still sore and that I've got little pulling pains very low down is normal and reassuring but she's advised me not to test again, and basically said I shouldn't have done that test this morning. She said nature has its way and there's nothing anyone can do so she said sounds like I'm doing everything right and there's nothing more I can do. She said I need to stop googling and stop reading up on things, instead of going into this pregnancy expecting to lose it but hoping it sticks she said I should be expecting a baby and not worrying about anything else unless I get any physical reason to, which I haven't. She also said to stop following others' journeys on here coz everyone is different and she thinks it's making me more paranoid!
So I may take a lil step back for now girlies! I literally thought I was having a breakdown this morning when I did that test and I've been on the edge of tears since I've been in work which I'm sure is not healthy for me or my little seed. So I'm going to really spend some days focusing on my body and how I'm feeling and looking after myself! I will still pop on here every couple of days to say hi so don't forget me, I will be back soon I promise but I'm honestly stressing myself out so much I have to have a break!
Speak soon chicks xx

MistyBxx · 13/03/2017 10:59

And thank you for the kind messages. I just can't help worrying and it's no good. But like the midwife said I AM currently pregnant lol so I need to chill out and just wait for the weeks to pass x

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 14:54

Misty aww yes definitely keep us updated when you are on here! All the best to you!

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 14:55

Well they weren't interested in doing any bloods so I'm just waiting for a letter now for my booking in! It still hasn't set in, I'm still in shock haha, but as I think I'm only five weeks it means I have a three week wait for my appointment! What has everyone else done to pass the time?

sophr2017 · 13/03/2017 15:11

Jessie it will fly by! I thought it would drag and have just had my appointment today and can't believe where the time has gone!

Had my booking in app, blood tests and stuff, and I have the loveliest midwife!

Feels a bit more real now!

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 15:15

Soph oh good! How long were you at the appointment for? Going to tell my mum this week and tell a few close friends for now, hopefully that'll distract me from waiting! I just want to tell everyone but at the same time I feel it's probably too early!

sophr2017 · 13/03/2017 15:20

We told family at 8 weeks but only because we had the early scan, I won't be telling anyone else until 12 weeks.

Appointment was about 1hr 20 mins, lots of information to take in and take away!

ew1990 · 13/03/2017 17:31

Hi Ladies just recently found I'm out I'm pregnant too, 5+4 if my working outs right, also terrified but trying to not worry, got the doctors on Friday so hopefully that will put my mind at rest for a while xx

mrsjkerry · 13/03/2017 17:57

Hi all. I got a call from the midwife today! First appointment is next Wednesday!! Excited! 12 week scan is not until end of April but I am going for an 8 week one 1 April. Cannot wait!

Misty totally understand about just having some time for your own space. But I will miss you!!

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 17:58

Soph oh I'm so excited now!
Ew why are you terrified? I'm nervous but I think I'll calm down a bit after my first appointment!

Tonks87 · 13/03/2017 18:04

I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow. It's odd because everything I read says midwives won't see you until at least 8 weeks so it must be different in my area. Either that or there's been a cock up with the appointment!

Mrsjkerry I have an 8 week scan booked on the 1 April too! I'm a bit nervous for it but I literally cannot wait!

Has anyone else found they are much less productive at work since getting their BFP? I'm not sure if it's because I'm so tired but I just can't concentrate. I'm barely getting anything done!

sophr2017 · 13/03/2017 18:08

MrsJkerry that's exciting, it makes it seem more real!! Early scan is lovely too, I found it so reassuring!

Ew, welcome and congratulations!!

Tonks, how far gone will you be? Think it depends on the area!

theotherendofthesockportal · 13/03/2017 18:13

@Tonks87 I have been feeling less productive in general not just at work since I got my BFP. Since I got those two lines on Friday my boobs have been on fire and I'm only around 4 weeks!

ew1990 · 13/03/2017 18:31

Jessie I don't know? Been trying for 2 years, but I'm just trying to enjoy it and Tonks I work 12 and half hour shifts so deffo taking its toll on me, all I wanna do is sleep 😂😂

Tonks87 · 13/03/2017 18:49

Sophr2017 I'll be 5+5. I rang the GP shortly after getting my BFP to ask what the next steps were. The receptionist then booked me in with the midwife and never asked how far along I was. She just asked how many tests I'd done so I said 2 10 and that was it.

mrsjkerry · 13/03/2017 19:23

Tonks we will have to let each other know how we get on!! It seems an eternity away. It's also the first day of half term for me so if it's all good it'll be a really great start to the break! 😄

Jessiecat27 · 13/03/2017 19:32

Tonks I definitely have felt less productive at work and at home! Luckily OH is being more helpful than usual, did anyone have to wait for an appointment letter? Just wondering when I'll get mine

sophr2017 · 13/03/2017 20:08

I got an appointment call and email, then have been told by midwife today that they'll write to me with my date for first scan, but have already booked my second appointment in with the midwife at 15 weeks

Sarmi · 14/03/2017 10:18

Thanks guys!

I had my first blood test yesterday to confirm pregnancy and hcg was 1419. Doc said I should be around 5-6 weeks which lines up with my lmp (should be 7 weeks this Sat). Tempted to do another test on Friday to see if levels increase.

Soo I have an appt with my doctor next Monday but I'm wondering if I should get an early scan before that? @sophr2017 when did you have your early scan done?

sophr2017 · 14/03/2017 11:05

Congratulations! I got mine done at 6+6 weeks, the place I went said it could be done by 6 weeks but others say 7! It's quite a long time to wait for first 12 weeks scan, and I'm far too impatient!
