Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Soph - your scan pic is amazing! :)

Ladies I'm with you on the carbs and the unsettled sleep and the nausea and the tiredness! I weighed myself this morning scared to look and I actually haven't put on anything, I'm not sure how though as all I am eating is carbs and I have definitely gained a belly (not a bump yet but hoping it will turn into a nice rounded bump!). I have a gp appointment tomorrow to get referred to the hospital. Does anyone have any thoughts on midwife led v consultant led? I like the idea of MLW but the community midwife I saw a few weeks ago said they might see me as high risk since I have asthma ... anyone know anything about this? If I can't go mwl I'll pick a different hospital and I think I need to let my gp know my choice tomorrow so he can refer me for booking in appt and 12 week scan xo

My stomach has gone massive lately with all the crap I'm eating, looks like a little bump x

Hi everyone,
I've been stalking some of the antenatal groups for a couple weeks and only stumbled upon the 'pregnancy' section of this forum tonight! I know moo from a TTC group (Hi Moo!👋) and recognise a couple of other names from different TTC groups. Was hoping to join if that's OK?
I'm 8+3 judging by my LMP but had a bit of spotting and pain last week so had an early scan where I was measured to be a couple days behind so am at 8weeks on the nose.
It's my first pregnancy so like everyone else, I'm über anxious about everything. I've had pretty bad nausea and vomiting from early doors but recently been getting a bit of a reprieve, only nauseous and vomiting at random times of the day. You would think that would be a good thing but of course the anxiety starts ..... 'is it normal for symtoms to reduce so early on etc.....'
I have my first midwife appt on Thurs so will no doubt nip her head about EVERYTHING.

Welcome and congrats Dolly!! My symptoms eased and I started to panic and all is ok!

Moo, I'm hoping for Mid wife led if all is ok! We have a mwl hospital 10 minutes from my house, however if we can't go there my only other option is a hospital 30 mins from my house but only the other side of town that took us an hour to get to today, I don't fancy doing that in labour!

Apparently they will be deciding up until the minute you go into labour if it's safe for you to be at mwl. Also it seems a much nicer environment, less clinical and all the rooms at ours have pools and I want a water birth! X

sophr2017 · 04/04/2017 21:47

Also you shouldn't need to let them know this early, your scans should be at a hospital not mwl clinic anyway! X

MSH2010 · 04/04/2017 22:09

My scans are being done at a MWL hospital but because I'm having twins they'll be born at the other hospital. As I'm inbetween two. Parking and access is easier at the MWL hence happy for my scans to be done there

ew1990 · 04/04/2017 22:12

She asked my would I like to have my baby at our local hospital (won't say the name) she needed to know coz if I was she would take a set off bloods as she's from the local hospital, all of my family have been born there, it's a 5 minute drive from home and it's where I work! X

ew1990 · 04/04/2017 22:13

It's mwl I think, x

Peppercorn17 · 04/04/2017 22:43

Well ladies, tonight I have had to buy a new pair of trousers up a size to deal with the bloat! Shock wouldn't mind if I was going up a size due to a bump but this is definitely just water! Didn't want to but I have a 3 hour meeting tomorrow and I put my existing black trousers on today and wanted to cry. Emergency dash to supermarket was made!

To all the rest of you struggling with weight gain, I am with you!

Moo31 · 05/04/2017 05:31

Hi dolly! Grin

Thanks for the mwl advice everyone :) the community midwife told me I basically have to pick which Health Trust I want - the problem I have is that I don't fancy the alternative consultant led hospital in the trust where the mwl is so if I know at this stage I won't be able to go mwl then I'll pick a different Health Trust so I can have a different consultant led hospital. All very confusing! Same as you soph I fancy a water birth and all the rooms at mwl have a pool!

mrsjkerry · 05/04/2017 10:17

I have no idea what's all this about mwl or consultant? How would I know the difference? I just self referred to my hospital and everything is done from there!?!?

Sorry I'm slow.... but just learnt how to add some pictures.... here's my 12week scan from just over a week ago.

Still feels a bit surreal however the aches and lack lack of immune system reminds me they are there

Aww MSH fab pic! I can't imagine how you must be feeling with two of them in there 😂! How did you react when you found out?!

MSH2010 · 05/04/2017 14:47

Sophr I'm not going to lie it was a shock, especially as it wasn't planned either Blush, but I'm slowly getting used to it.
Despite how poorly I've been recently my gp managed to find both heartbeats last Tuesday so they're obviously both strong minded Grin

sophr2017 · 05/04/2017 15:03

That's great news! Will you have extra scans then with twins?

Are you going to find out the genders? I can't wait to!

MSH2010 · 05/04/2017 15:19

If it had just been one we wouldn't have found out, but twins is enough of a shock to wait, so going to find out in May.

MSH2010 · 05/04/2017 15:21

We get extra check up but I'm not sure we get extra scans unless there's cause for concern

sophr2017 · 05/04/2017 15:24

I find out in May too, I'm off on holiday at 19 weeks so have paid for a private scan to find out just before, plus I don't want to worry whilst abroad!

We announced yesterday and I'm getting a lot of people who are guessing the gender of the baby and apparently they're "always right" funny how they're saying different genders!! I think I'll keep the gender a surprise to others but just me and DH know!

MSH2010 · 05/04/2017 17:28

That's what I'm hoping to do too... just depends in OH can keep it quiet!!Grin

Aww girls had an emotional breakdown in work today, but on the plus side I've only smoked one cig, and that was to try and calm me down xx

Squigglefish · 05/04/2017 18:31

ew I keep flipping my lid and going on angry little rants about things while at work. Luckily my colleagues know and are understanding!

THirdEeye · 05/04/2017 18:44

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is feeling the rage....I seem to go from 1-1000.....DH goes white every time I do!

ew1990 · 05/04/2017 20:33

@Squigglefish mine was full on sobbing! Just physically and emotionally drained I think and finding the hours at work hard lately xx

ew1990 · 05/04/2017 20:42
