Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Apparently you can have 2 cups of coffee or 5 cups of tea a day! Decaf stuff is great I swear by it xx

ew1990 · 03/04/2017 21:49

I'm struggling with eating well all I want is crap all the time xx

tmc14 · 03/04/2017 21:50

I'm trying the decaf. I know I can have some coffee but just figured if anything went wrong I didn't want to think 'what if I'd done X'. Silly I know. After 12 weeks I'll have my Saturday morning coffee which is my favourite!!

MSH2010 · 03/04/2017 21:53

Ew1990 what's wrong with maccy d milkshakes?

Peppercorn17 · 03/04/2017 21:54

That's interesting ew not that I have a milkshake habit but did she say why?

I was at a work do the other day faced with a buffet and desperately trying to subtley scrutinise the sandwiches to work out what I could eat!

ew1990 · 03/04/2017 22:07

She said it's nothing to do with the milkshake or mcflurrys but the pipes are disgusting and they don't get cleaned inside so they are filthy and it's basically old sour milk, the germs in there are horrendous she said, but she did also say don't start panicking if you've had some as long as they haven't made you ill xx

ew1990 · 03/04/2017 22:08

I was quite shocked x

sophr2017 · 03/04/2017 22:16

Yeh I'd heard something about their milkshakes so have avoided them, but it was something to do with what was in them and how they were made (something to do with potatoes I think?!!)

Peppercorn17 · 03/04/2017 22:27

Shock that's enough to put you off for life!

Jessiecat27 · 03/04/2017 22:33

So sorry to hear Misty!
Ladies I'm in the same boat trying to quit, it's the point where I'm telling myself off whilst rolling one to try and stop me but I've cut down a lot! Got my booking in appointment tomorrow morning so I'm hoping she will tell me off! Also my letter says take a wee sample but I completely forgot to get a pot for one! Any ideas or will she just let me do one there and then?

lydiangel83 · 03/04/2017 22:43

@MrsC1982 awful sleeping and awful eating patterns - never eaten so unhealthily in my life! Getting spots and huge bags under my eyes - even hubby kindly told me I look awful!

I'm hoping morning sickness will go away soon as have had it from day 1 and really can only eat bland carbs. Now at 6+1 and getting very bored as well as concerned about lack of nutrients.

@ew1990 No judging re smoking, it must be hard. Good luck!

Jessiecat27 · 03/04/2017 22:48

I've been sick a few days but most of the day it's just feeling really nauseous to the point where I feel if I move I'll be sick 😭 I don't think work understand because when I rang in this morning they asked me to ring them back later on if I was going in for this afternoon, they know it's not the same for everyone!

Peppercorn17 · 03/04/2017 22:53

Thanks Sophr for the tip on seabands I have found some at home and feeling a bit better already x

MrsC1982 · 04/04/2017 05:36

@lydiangel83 I have developed an unhealthy addiction to cheese strings... this is new so I could count it as a symptom I suppose...

4am and wide awake today, hour and a half of reading the news before I gave up and got up ffs

MSH2010 · 04/04/2017 05:59

Jessycat don't worry my mw and gp have told me there's a tray of them behind reception so just pop there a few minutes early and ask when you get there.... good luck

mrsjkerry · 04/04/2017 09:55

@Peppercorn17 I get really bad motion sickness and it feels like that 24/7. It is horrible. Worst feeling ever and impossible to shift. I cry a lot 😄

@lydiangel83 the constant carb eating is also making me feel like a whale. My husband told me I was getting fat. And I am. Have gained 3-4 kg already and am only 9 weeks...

@mrsjkerry I agree with you- I'm a long time travel sickness sufferer from early childhood, and this feels exactly the same just all day and all night! I'm not being sick but wonder if that might provide some relief, at least just for a bit- I'm sure I'll regret saying that if the sickness comes though!
I don't know why it didn't occur to me to try the seabands- not in the office today so wearing them to see if it will help but will be harder when I'm back in tomorrow.

ew1990 · 04/04/2017 10:58

@Jessiecat27 they asked me to do one but then my midwife didn't need it, @mrsjkerry I've gone from 8 and half stone to 9 stone 2, I've always been slim and could never put on weight so quite liking it, it's coz I've got a new addiction to Worcester sauce French fries I eat about 6 packs a day xx

mrsjkerry · 04/04/2017 13:32

I am feeling very proud of myself today. Have managed a few portions of fruit AND went to the gym (with my PT) for the first time in two weeks.

Feeling very fed up though. I was 59KG (9.2stone) on my wedding day. After wedding with house move and honeymoon and Christmas weight gain I went up to 70 (11stone) and have been trying to lose that since January. Now being pregnant and sick and eating all carbs I'm 75 (11.8st). Feeling very anxious about being overweight - even though the doctor told me my weight was fine - and I know I should accept I'm growing a tiny human but I don't want to be a fat pregnant lady!!!

Hi ladies, I had my 7 week scan yesterday and it went well. Nurse said lining nice and thick, baby in the right place and measuring 7 weeks exactly, and we got to see the heartbeat which was very surreal. It was an NHS scan so short and sweet, I did get a couple of photos but don't have them on my phone to upload!

I've not been sick yet but feel a bit 'off' most days. I am ravenously hungry all the time and am waking up through the night because of it. Also need to pee every 5 minutes which is affecting my sleep too, might need a nap when I get home from work today 😴💤

ew1990 · 04/04/2017 13:47

@mrsjkerry your weight is fine! Stop worrying, you'll be fine once you start getting a bump xx

sophr2017 · 04/04/2017 13:55

Ahh ladies I have my 12 weeks scan at 4pm and have come over a nervous wreck!! I didn't think I'd worry this much!

mrsjkerry · 04/04/2017 14:15

Is anyone else a bath lover? I have a bath everyday, sometimes two at the weekends as I LOVE them. Recently though I've become paranoid about the temperature of my baths. I read if they're too hot you can cause damage. Anyone else!?

I've now bought a bath thermometer and a thermometer for me to check I'm not getting too hot 🙄

OP posts:
sophr2017 · 04/04/2017 14:18

Me MrsJ! But I'm still having a bath everyday just not as hot as before, not been checking the temp though! I've found if it's too hot my body has told me as I've felt sick straight away anyway!

mrsjkerry · 04/04/2017 14:26

I had one very early on about 4 weeks where I felt very hot and got out with my head pounding and sweating. Hope I didn't do anything!?

@sophr2017 you'll be fine! Mine seems like an age away..
