Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Fingers crossed for you Misty and yes this is a wonderful positive thread but reality is that we're all on a journey that we have no control over and this is also the place for support and comfort, we all here for you whatever is on you mind.
Sorry you're feeling rubbish Mrs
I'm out with a friend for a meal at Cote tonight, her birthday treat from me but I'm starting to go off food so that could be fun (or not!)...

Tillums · 24/03/2017 08:28

Oh Misty I was so sorry to wake up this morning and read your message. I'm so sorry that you didn't have the experience you were hoping for. Try to stay positive which will seem impossible at times but positivity makes such a massive difference to your health!

A friend of mine found a cyst on her ovary on her first pregnancy and she is fine now. She has a beautiful little boy and is trying for her second.

So sending you beautiful positive vibes. Let us all know how you get on xxx

Tillums · 24/03/2017 08:41

By the way ladies, I was user yesterday, I've managed to change my username now.

Sorry you are all feeling so rough, especially Mrs. I am fortunate that hasn't hit me yet. There's time though, I'm sure I've got it coming.

I had lots of cuddles with my friends new born last night. She is so tiny and beautiful, it was lush. It did make me realise how little experience I have with babies mind! 😱 I have such a lot to learn!

MistyBxx · 24/03/2017 10:22

Thanks so much girlies, I really appreciate all your kind words 💚 feeling utterly miserable today but just got to see how things go. Got apt at GP at 1pm. Spoke to EPU who said the doc has to refer me. Just hoping they will on the advice of the private scan place 🤞🏼

ew1990 · 24/03/2017 10:38

@MistyBxx got everything crossed for you, they discovered a cyst on my ovary on Wednesday when I had my scan but they said it's nothing to worry about and they will keep an eye on it at future scans xxx

mrsjkerry · 24/03/2017 10:47

@Tillums I have NO experience with babies!!! I presume I'll learn 😄

Cysts are fairly common aren't they? I did some reading this morning....

I have my 7 week scan tomorrow at 12.40. Fingers crossed all is well 😬

It's my first pregnancy too im nearly 14 weeks into my pregnancy( sorry don't know all the lingo with the abreviations😆) I'm 33 and lost both my parents in the last two years so I'm pretty scared I have a sister but she lives pretty far away from me and has her hands full with her two boys. I am also trying to buy a house but the competition is insane where I live and it's almost impossible to get a look in! My fiancé is lovely but a big kid so I'm a little worried and his parents are not really that involved. I'm living in a tiny one bed flat at the moment so if I don't find something I'm not sure how I'm going to cope. Eeek I know this sounds very naive but after I had the coil out I thought it would take at least 3-4 months at the earliest to get pregnant but I had one period and then pregnant straight away! #i'manidiot

sophr2017 · 24/03/2017 11:19

Congratulations Laura! My DH is exactly the same; although he seems to have stepped up massively already just with me being pregnant so I'm hoping this is a sign he'll be great when baby comes!!

Try not to stress about the flat, you're in a great situation if you can afford to buy, we can't so you're already a step ahead! Even a small flat will be fine with a new born, they don't need much space 😂 you've got plenty of time!!

Sorry to hear about your parents, maybe join as many ante-natal groups as possible, build yourself a good local network before baby is born! I have family around but don't know anyone my age in my area as only recently here so I plan on going to lots of groups before baby!

Misty I'm sorry to hear your news, hope all goes well with you app today and have everything crossed for you xx

Squigglefish · 24/03/2017 11:40

Will be thinking about you misty x

Jessiecat27 · 24/03/2017 12:21

Hope it goes well Misty! Welcome to all of the new ladies!
My managers and colleagues do know and it got sorted yesterday but now today everyone seems to be in horrible moods and all ignoring me! Ah well the sun is out so I'm in a good mood 😂

THirdEeye · 24/03/2017 12:38

I have cysts on both my ovaries according to the scan I had....the nurse didn't seem that concerned, so I'm trying to take her lead.

DinosaurFanGirl · 24/03/2017 12:46

THirdEeye don't worry about it! Many women have cysts on their ovaries (I do and was told I'd need help getting pregnant, certainly didn't!). My aunt had really huge cysts on hers and one was so big that they ended up removing them along with her ovaries once she finished having children to help her with comfort but she didn't struggle too much and she had two perfectly fine pregnancies ☺ x

Tillums · 24/03/2017 13:56

Wow Lauraaaa you did catch quickly didn't you! Congrats and well done!
I'm sure your partner will learn a lot, just like you, and just get better and better! I agree with Sophr about the antenatal classes, I intend to do that too!

Jessiecat your colleagues sound like douchebags, don't let them get to you. I wonder if it's because they have been told to pull their weight but don't realise the reason why? It shouldn't matter really, they should pull their weight anyway in my opinion but maybe when the time comes for you to announce your pregnancy they will be more understanding of the circumstances.

Kaydee2017 · 24/03/2017 14:04

Hope you get on ok today misty!

ew1990 · 24/03/2017 14:22

@MistyBxx let us know how you get on xxx

Moo31 · 24/03/2017 14:46

Misty I was so sorry to read your update. You've been in my thoughts. Xo

mrsjkerry · 24/03/2017 15:24

@MistyBxx any news? How was your doctor appointment?

Does anyone know the requirements for the early scan? My email doesn't say anything about full bladder or anything...

Peppercorn17 · 24/03/2017 16:22

Hi ladies,

Hope you've all had a good day. Just wondering what apps you're all using? I've looked at mumsnet, Ovia and baby bump and think Ovia is probably the best of the three, but thought you might have some recommendations? X

tmc14 · 24/03/2017 16:27

I downloaded Ovia, although I've only looked at it! once! I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to use the apps for?

Squigglefish · 24/03/2017 16:28

Mrsjkerry I just had to have a full bladder for mine.

Peppercorn17 · 24/03/2017 16:31

Thus far I have mainly used it to look up what I can eat! But it tells you about growth etc. Actually DH has downloaded an app for men which I think is better because it tells you better facts and provides hints on nice things he should do for me! Haha!

sophr2017 · 24/03/2017 16:35

I use pregnancy plus, it was the first one that came up on my App Store with the most reviews and is fab!

MrsJ I was the same, only needed a full bladder!

sophr2017 · 24/03/2017 16:35

Sorry it's Pregnancy+ not written!

mrsjkerry · 24/03/2017 16:41

Ok thanks. The woman on the phone wasn't very helpful. She said no special requirements. They may ask for a urine sample and if they do then they have plenty of water for me to drink if they need to refill my bladder. Didn't seem a very good approach 🤔

Feeling so sick today. I am existing on a diet of crumpets, cereal and biscuits. It's worrying for me because I pride myself on eating healthily but what can I do...I'm so nauseous

OP posts:
Moo31 · 24/03/2017 16:53

mrsj - I had to drink a pint of water an hour before my appointment. And make sure you wear something loose and skirt / trousers and top for easy access!

I'm living on a similar diet - my book said something like "don't worry if all you can eat is ready salted crisps, make up for it next trimester" :)
