Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Seeing and hearing about everyone's early scan has made me excited to book mine now! I was upset after hearing the news but I wasn't shocked at all, I was listening to a song the other day with lyrics that were pretty apt and was saying to oh that it's sad that things like this happen daily -

And we dream of the day, when our kids can play
In the streets with no fear of being taken away
Fathers raise their sons with respect and love
Handle anger and pain with no need for no guns
If we hope to be free it takes you and me
To start over here and now
'Cause this world is the way it is,
It's how we raise our kids

Chocolate is the one at the moment! Usually I'm a savoury freak but fruit and anything sweet is doing it for me!

Oh girls I think my hormones are going wild 😳 I'm usually a cry-er, I sob at everything anyway lol but last couple of days it's literally anything. Like more than normal. Sobbed at the news then turned over and watched towie (felt emotional for Gemma freezing her eggs bless her) and then hubs showed me a video of a teacup poodle and I cried coz it was really cute. Then the same with a sloth video 🙈 and just filled up again at those lyrics jessi omg I'm an emotional mess lol.
Also new obsession... corn on the cob! Oh it's lush!! I had 2 small ones with my dinner tonight and I swear I could have eaten 10!

Hi all, I'm just joining the post as I just found out I am pregnant! I am 2/3 weeks from conception which makes me coming up to 5 weeks based on the way your doctor works it out.
I don't have any symptoms yet whatsoever, the odd twinge and niggle in my tum but nothing really. I had a MC just before Xmas and I seemed to have loads of symptoms that time, including horrifically painful breasts but no pain at all this time round.

I am a little worried about the lack of symptoms and can't wait to do another test next week to see if the weeks indicator has changed to show the pregnancy progressing.

Anyone else expecting a rainbow baby?
How far along are you all now? I have read some of the thread but there is so much! I'll catch up eventually. You have all been chatting a while, I hope you don't mind me joining in?
Xxx

Hi user - welcome and congratulations! So sorry for your previous loss. xo

user1490256960 · 23/03/2017 09:11

Thank you Moo31 (I've tried to personalise my username but it doesn't seem to want to work currently)
I am hopeful that it will be more successful this time around and currently trying to eat as much broccoli as possible. Difficult with all the Easter eggs on sale at the moment!! 😫

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 09:41

My morning sickness has kicked in full force and I could see fruit and veg far enough! Living off plain pasta, bread and potatoes. I did manage some peas last night though. It's a very exciting but nerve wracking time isn't it? Nice that we are all here to support each other.

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 09:43

Ew - just seeing your scan picture. It's such a miracle isn't it? I have an early scan booked tomorrow and will be 7 weeks. I'm worried they might have to do an internal (although I know compared to the prospect of childbirth it will be easy!) but did it hurt?

sophr2017 · 23/03/2017 09:55

Moo you should be fine at 7 weeks if you have a nice full bladder!

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 10:00

Oh yes thanks for reminding me! There was something in the booking email to drink X amount of water in the hour before the scan. Had totally forgotten! Thank you!

Sakura03 · 23/03/2017 10:14

Welcome user sorry for your previous loss. I had an early mc nearly 2 years ago so this is a much longed for pregnancy and it's hard not to worry but I take a day at a time. I'm 6w3d. I've been eating lchf (low carb high fat) since beginning of January as I wanted to quit sugar and lose some weight, it was easy peasy getting off the sugar and my energy and sleep improved but the weight loss was a little slow for my liking. Anyway I wanted to continue eating this way but at the moment I can't think of any food that sounds appealing... nothing what so ever so I think I'll just have to eat what I can..

mrsjkerry · 23/03/2017 11:40

Sakura I also had a low carb diet. I physically cannot eat the food I was eating before. Used to have smoothie, salad etc. Omg just typing that caused nausea to bubble up in my throat.

I feel SO SICK all the time. I'm hating this!

Moo I had internal once before. It doesn't hurt at all it's just a cold wand that slips into you.

ew1990 · 23/03/2017 12:06

@Moo31 I had a full bladder but my bowel was In the way, had to empty my bladder for the internal one but don't worry I didn't feel a thing! It is a miracle it still hasn't sunk in yet with me xxx

Jessiecat27 · 23/03/2017 12:36

Ladies I need some advice, my job is too stressful, I can't cope with stress at the best of times but that's the last thing I need right now! There are plenty of other roles that pay the same but because our 'manager' is lazy and refused to do her own job I'm having to do it. I've been told I'm the gest person to do it so it looks like it's tough shit. Is this unfair? Everyone else is fully capable of doing it they're just unwilling Sad

user1490256960 · 23/03/2017 13:14

Moo31 internal scans don't hurt at all. I think some people don't like the thought of them but honestly, compared to a smear it's a walk in the park and once you see your tad pole on the screen you forget you have a wand up your foof!

Sakura I'm on HFLC too! I have been a little more relaxed this last few months, comfort eating after the MC and having no willpower with all the chocolate in the supermarkets, but I'm trying to be extra good now I know I'm pregnant. I do try and eat a little bit more fruit than HFLC usually recommends though, but I try to stick to berries apples and melon, rather than the super sugary grapes and mango.

Oh this is such a lovely friendly group 🙂🙂🙂

user1490256960 · 23/03/2017 13:16

Jessiecat27 have you told work you are pregnant yet? I think that might be a viable reason for you to request they adjust your duties and put some responsibility on others. And if you tell a manger or even someone more senior again if your manager if abit useless, they can't tell everyone else or treat you any differently, they have to maintain confidentiality. But they will hopefully be more understanding.

sophr2017 · 23/03/2017 13:37

I agree with User, I think the sooner you can let someone know the better, maybe someone in HR? Then they will need to do a risk assessment at work anyway and the stress factors of things that aren't your job may be factored into that? Sorry you're going through that, sound rubbish :(

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 14:52

Jessie I agree with the others that you should speak to someone. Meanwhile just do what you can do at your normal pace and if stuff doesn't get done it doesn't get done and they'll soon realise 1 person can't do the job of two and will (hopefully) sort it out.

MistyBxx · 23/03/2017 15:18

Hi girls! Just a quickie, will catch up properly later! Just booked my early scan... for this evening!! They had a cancellation!! So I'm currently getting ready!
Speak later!!! Wish me luck 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼💝💝

sophr2017 · 23/03/2017 15:19

Ah very exciting Misty, enjoy!

Sakura03 · 23/03/2017 15:43

Good luck Misty😊

mrsjkerry · 23/03/2017 16:12

Misty I'm so jealous! I thought about booking at 7 weeks but figured it might be too early and best to wait another week. Now I'm regretting doing that. Shall I book one for tomorrow 🤔

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 23/03/2017 16:22

Oh I'm panicking now, clinic said they would email me with some info and they haven't!! I'm about to leave and tried ringing them but no answer now!! It's an hour away so don't want to get there and not have what I need! I know I need a full bladder but do I need anything else, ID or proof of address etc? I've already paid over the phone. Did anyone get asked specifically bring anything???xx

MistyBxx · 23/03/2017 16:23

I'm 7 weeks exactly today mrsJ and receptionist said 7 weeks is perfect time xx

sophr2017 · 23/03/2017 16:30

I didn't have to take anything Misty just myself and a full bladder 😂!

Kaydee2017 · 23/03/2017 16:51

Wow this thread moves fast!! Hope your scan goes well misty! Also hoping to book an early scan around 8 weeks!

I am 6 weeks today & feel so bloated - thought it was a myth but look like I'm eating for 5 & actually I'm barely eating at all Sad

Hope everyone is well!
