Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Welcome @tmc14. I'm a slightly older mummy to be. Will be 35 when 'pebble' is here. X

Squigglefish · 20/03/2017 20:44

I've noticed a few of you are booking early scans. When are you booking them for? Will it be before your first midwife appointments?

MistyBxx · 20/03/2017 20:44

Evening all, welcome tmc :)
So have we all nicknamed our babies??
Mine is "little seed" not very original lol but when I first found out I was pg, 16 days ago (feels like 16 weeks ago lol) it was only the size of a poppy seed 😍 so little seed it is 😍

tmc14 · 20/03/2017 20:49

Thanks all.

Mines called bean, again not very imaginative but that's the word that's stuck Grin

We'd like to do an early scan as we'd like to tell family just before we go on holiday at week 10... hopefully after midwife appointment but no idea when that will be! How do people choose a clinic? Just go by online reviews?

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 20/03/2017 20:52

Baby Bear for me.
My size theme in ovia is weird-but-cute animals, and apparently it's currently about the size of a waterbear

I'm currently a Date, having progressed from a grape last week 😂

Squiggle I had my early scan at exactly 7 week and I saw the midwife last week at 9+1 for the first time so quite a bit before but our booking in appointments seem quite late!

Tmc I went on a recommendation to Babybond and their reviews were fantastic, and to be fair they were great and so lovely!

Jessiecat27 · 20/03/2017 21:28

Welcome Tmc! Try ringing the switchboard instead if you can't get through, or see if there is a number for the unit rather than a booking number and hound them! I spent get trying to get through!
Just got my appointment through! 4th of April, I'm so excited now! I'll be booking my early scan for the next day if I can. Also got my 12 week scan for 2nd of may, it all seems so real now!
We have ended up calling it bump although I know it's only bloat at the moment!

Jessiecat27 · 20/03/2017 21:29

Oh and it's currently a chocolate chip 😂

MrsB12345 · 20/03/2017 21:33

I saw this and couldn't help but laugh. I feel like this already. Sooooo bloated......!!

Jessiecat27 · 20/03/2017 21:36

MrsB so bloated! Haha

MrsB12345 · 20/03/2017 21:39

@Jessiecat27 I'm only 7w3d. Going to be a long pregnancy 😂😂

Jessiecat27 · 20/03/2017 21:45

MrsB 6 weeks today, can you imagine us in a few months! 😂 although I do get bloating from suspected crohns so it feels like double the bloat, I'm not sticking it out on purpose honest!

MrsB12345 · 20/03/2017 22:19

Oh Jesus. Haha "...'cuse us...preggo ladies coming through...beep beep"

OnNaturesCourse · 21/03/2017 13:37

Can I join you ladies? I'm 4weeks today and I'm just about in a heap on the floor at work due to tiredness and worry. I'm running to the loo everytime I feel something ... Between that and the already increased pee trips I'm never out the bathroom. I've given myself a banging headache too and I'm just about done with today already 😑

tmc14 · 21/03/2017 14:33

Hi OnNaturesCourse
Any particular reason for your worry? Or just general early days anxiety? I think it's easy to get overwhelmed with it all, I don't have any real advice except the stats are on your side that things will go well.
xx

OnNaturesCourse · 21/03/2017 14:39

Just generally worried. I'm a worrier anyway but the exhaustion is making it worse!

tmc14 · 21/03/2017 15:00

I understand that. I'm naturally a very anxious person although I'm doing ok with pregnancy so far. Maybe because I still don't quite believe it!! Not sure when reality will kick in that this is actually happening...

tmc14 · 21/03/2017 15:01

Do you have anyone in real life to talk to? I'm a complete over sharer with friends so finding not talking it a bit anxiety inducing.

OnNaturesCourse · 21/03/2017 15:10

I've got my own mother and DP... they've been amazing. DP is a bit clueless but he's trying lol

Know95 · 21/03/2017 15:42

Hi Ladies, I'm 7 weeks this week! This is my first and It was such a shock finding out. It was only a week ago and I'm still getting used to it.... I'm eatting heathly and going by the guidelines on the NHS website about what I can't eat, which is tough... theres so much stuff you can't have! I'm worried about every cramp I get, but the Midwife said it's absolutely normal... I find in the night, I get horrible cramps and sharp pains, like a strenching feeling.. Does anyone else get these? I'm also getting so really creepy dreams.. Can anyone relate?

OnNaturesCourse · 21/03/2017 16:29

I get like a stretchy feeling... Like you stretch a muscle too far and it feels like it rips. Always worse at night. Xx

Sakura03 · 21/03/2017 16:51

Oh I've had really creepy and very realistic dreams too!! I keep going hot/cold, particularly in the evenings I'm freezing cold. Less twinges today but very sore boobs and very bloated (6w1 today).

Moo31 · 21/03/2017 17:00

Hi ladies
Welcome to all the newbies.
So I had what I thought was my booking in apt today ... but was actually just registering me with my community midwife at my GP surgery. I think I am more confused than I was! So I now have to make an apt with my GP for him to refer me to the hospital (why cant the m/w who is in the next room to him not just tell him to refer me? lol). Then when he refers me I will get a date for my 12 week scan and booking apt (which apparently they do at the same time - at least that's something!) I am so glad we booked an early scan for Friday - I will only be 7 weeks but today hasn't really put my mind at ease (although I get the feeling our minds will not be at ease until baby is here!)
Hope everyone is well and welcome and congrats to the newbies :)

sophr2017 · 21/03/2017 17:02

I had some horrible dreams when I first found out, like having the baby and leaving it somewhere and it wasn't there when I went back, massive anxiety I think!! Much better now, haven't had one for ages!

I've just felt well enough to have my first coffee in about a month and it was lovely!

OnNaturesCourse · 21/03/2017 17:06

Ooo I notice someone else is having the hot/cold flushes... The heat is unbearable at times, I literally sweat just sitting still
