Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Hmm I wear mine much higher than that but I could be wrong! I've been wearing them over a week and seems to have worked! Would definitely say to wear both as well! Hope they help!

Lemondrop09 · 19/03/2017 22:55

For those feeling sick, I find sipping orange Lucosade helped a bit. Worth a try

MistyBxx · 20/03/2017 07:49

Morning girlies. How are you? How's the sickness? Well I was awake half the night with really bad tummy pains, it was awful, started right after I had my dinner last night and the pain woke me a couple of times in the night, I was curled up covered in goosepimples, I felt like crying coz I really thought there was something wrong. But... I did a tearful 3am google search (never a good idea I know) and I actually think it was wind 🙈 I had cauliflower in my dinner which i never eat and i think it gave me some crazy air down there 😳 I had a few fluffs this morning (sorry tmi!) and I feel hell of a lot better!! The pain has gone and I feel normal again! Well normal as I've felt being pg I mean. So I'm hoping that's panic over. I'm ringing midwife at 9 so will mention it to her anyway. It really felt like bad cramps, I was so scared! X

Lifmac · 20/03/2017 08:21

Hello! I try to avoid lactose as it seems every time i take it, i have similar issues to you. I eat lactose free cheddar and milk. Also have coconut yoghurt! Tasty alternatives!

MistyBxx · 20/03/2017 12:25

Love coconut yoghurt! Well I rung the midwife office today and nobody answered, I left a message for them to call me back but nobody has so far. Typical last couple of times when I've been too early to book an appointment, there's always been someone there, now I want to finally book and I can't get hold of anyone. I'm not overly fussed tbh, I know they won't actually see me for another fortnight anyway so I may as well just book and attend my scan first so I know there's a real reason to even see the midwife lol.
How is everyone else feeling today?

sophr2017 · 20/03/2017 12:44

Misty I felt exactly the same around week 6, I left a meal at a restaurant as felt awful with pain, got home and realised it was wind 🙈!! Glad it's not just me! At least you'll recognise that sort of pain now, as it's happened to me a few times since but I don't panic now I know what's going on!

DarcyParty · 20/03/2017 15:53

At 6+4 my morning sickness has come in strong, I spend half of the day with nausea praying to throw up, and once I do throw up, the relief lasts 15 mins before it starts again 😭 (I made beautiful pancakes today and had to say goodbye to them in the toilet :( )

Plus I have a chest infection I'm taking antibiotics for, and they're just getting chucked up too 😭

Wish I was one of those ladies who never has it! I'm going to try a seaband as soon as I get paid

ew1990 · 20/03/2017 16:16

Hi girlies, after a bit of advice anyone on? Xx

mrsjkerry · 20/03/2017 16:50

Omg. So if I thought I was sick yesterday that was nothing.

At 1AM I woke up feeling incredibly nauseous. I ate a biscuit and had some water but it didn't go away. I paced the landing and after about an hour I threw up the entire contents of my stomach. This has been going on all day. I take a sip of water, try to lie down for 5 minutes, vomit over the size of the bed into a bucket. Have a moment of 5 minutes where I feel better, take a sip of water and the cycle repeats. There's nothing left in my stomach so all I'm throwing up is yellow stomach acid. It's horrible!! Sounds maybe like you darcy?

Honestly I've never been so sick in my life. I had to get my husband to phone my school for me and I had to email my boss saying I was too sick to get to a computer to set my cover. Which is really bad. Feeling very bad for the poor person who would have had to sort of my lessons today...

I've finally slept longer than 10 minutes and feeling a bit better. But my god. I was not expecting it as bad as this.

How's everyone else?

MistyBxx · 20/03/2017 17:05

Same as you darcy 6+4 and absolutely nothing in the way of sickness 😳 my mum had 3 daughters and was only sick with one. My sis had one son and had no sickness. I don't remember my other sis having any sickness either. Maybe it's in the family that we don't get it... although my friend said she didn't get sick til 8+ weeks and it lasted flat out til 13 weeks so there's still time. Don't know whether to be grateful I'm not ill or worried I'm not x

mrsjkerry · 20/03/2017 17:14

Misty be grateful! If others in your family also didn't have much sickness I'd enjoy your sick free time while it lasts! It may well kick in later who knows.

It occurred to me today to ask my mum whether she was sick with me. But I can't as my mum passed away 7 years ago. I could ask my dad but he lives a few hours away with a new wife and I haven't told him yet so would be a big giveaway...!

OP posts:
sophr2017 · 20/03/2017 17:36

I'm not sure it's genetic anyway! My mum was absolutely fine with me and my sister and I've been awful!! Mrsjkerry I feel so sorry for you it's horrible isn't it :(

Sipping lemonade and dry crackers helped me, also as someone suggested lucozade is quite good.

Hope it eases up a bit x

ew1990 · 20/03/2017 17:41

I tested my urine in work today as hurting when I wee came up straight away with water infection, rang my gp he's prescribed me antibiotics, he asked me as I having any pain with it I said yeah in my back when where my kidneys are and I have cramping in my stomach (I thought cramping was normal) anyway he told me to pop to EPU and see about having a scan to rule out an eptopic pregnancy, I've got a early scan on Wednesday, the nurse was lovely she said it's more than likely pain coz of my water infection but I can't help but worry, xxx

mrsjkerry · 20/03/2017 17:41

Soph it wasn't just feeling sick. I couldn't even sip on water let alone anything else!!!!

OP posts:
mrsjkerry · 20/03/2017 17:42

Ew they're just ruling things out. No need to worry yet. Especially as you've confirmed the infection!

OP posts:
ew1990 · 20/03/2017 17:45

Thanks, it's just hard not to worry, I was terrified about going to epu so my lovely boss took me and sorted the appointment, she said at least you get to see your little bean, that's a good thing I suppose 😊😊 xxxx

mrsjkerry · 20/03/2017 18:18

Yeh! I would think positively that the pain is the infection and that the silver lining is you get an early scan! I call mine a little bean too 😄

ew1990 · 20/03/2017 18:27

I'm so glad I work in a hospital and can do things like test my urine xxx

sophr2017 · 20/03/2017 18:33

Ew hope you're feeling a bit better now, sounds like you have a lovely boss!

ew1990 · 20/03/2017 18:36

She's great, told me today that she's been offered a job at a different hospital and is taking it, I was gutted, I've only been there 6 months but she looks after us all so well, I feel miles better now thank you xxx

Squigglefish · 20/03/2017 18:58

Mrsjkerry its awful isn't it. I've bizarrely been ok today but still off most foods. Hopefully you won't be like this all day everyday.

I'm actually seeing the doctor tomorrow about the sickness. I made the appointment last week when I felt so ill. Now half thinking I've over reacted but it's just awful when you can't eat or drink and I think it'll come back.
ew good luck, will be thinking of you on the day x

tmc14 · 20/03/2017 19:15

Hello, mind if I join? I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant with my first, due 20 November. I'm 37, so fairly old I guess! Never been a forum kind of person, but it can be quite strange not talking to anyone about this except for my partner... I've known for about 10 days and have been lurking on here for a few days and thought I'd take the plunge and introduce myself :-)

sophr2017 · 20/03/2017 19:34

Hey tmc and congratulations!!! I'm the same, it's nice to be able to talk to people especially at this stage where you have to keep it so quiet! How have you been feeling?

tmc14 · 20/03/2017 19:39

Thanks for the welcome Sophr - I've been feeling ok, bit crampy at times, but apart from that not much going on! Well, I've had a stinking cold for a few days, but don't think that counts...

Having a nightmare with the Dr though. I'm supposed to be able to self refer, but I can't get through to the hospital at all (phone just rings) and my GP is hellish to get an appointment with. I'm not in a rush as it's still early, but I'm away on my honeymoon for weeks 10-12, so really need an appointment before then!

Sounds like others are having a tough time with nausea/sickness though...

Moo31 · 20/03/2017 19:40

Hi all

Sorry I've been awol!

Mrsj - so sorry to hear about your mum, that's very sad. I'm sure she would be so excited for you. So sorry about your sickness too. I had a friend who had severe ms and she was hospitalised and on a drip for a few days so just keep an eye out and of it continues I would see your gp / mw ASAP. Hope you feel better soon :)

I've been quite nauseous since middle of last week and off most foods except plain stuff. I think someone said don't let you stomach empty and I am finding that very true - eating a rich tea every hour between meals is helping. I'm 6+3 today. I also have my sea band on but typically I could only find one so I've ordered a new set from eBay (£1.47 bargain!)

I have my booking in app tomorrow - can't believe it's finally here although I only booked it 2 weeks ago but it seems like I booked it months ago! I also have an early scan on Friday so I'm excited / nervous for that too :)

tmc congrats and welcome :) everyone here is lovely!

ew hope you feel better soon - it sounds like it is just the infection.

misty sorry about your wind :( my sister used to get it really bad and swears that a cup of hot water (as hot as you can drink) helps shift it so maybe try that next time (although hopefully there won't be a next time!)

Other ms tips I've read are boiled sweets - I've stocked my handbag and slipped a few today!
