Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Has anyone else had any time off work yet? I've not gone in today (work know I'm pregnant) and they've asked me to call back if I can go in later on as it's usually only morning sickness not all day. Unfortunately none of my managers have had any children so there's not a lot of empathy there. Because I have to get the bus to work I didn't want to risk throwing up in front of anyone, I've had constant headaches the past few weeks, my mild crohns has flared up too so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, sat here heaving but haven't thrown up yet. I feel bad for not going in and offered to work Sunday instead if I feel okay but I feel like they're still judging me. One member of staff piles all of the work on me and I feel like I'd just be useless at the moment. Sorry I just had to rant somewhere, I definitely thought pregnancy would be a breeze, silly me!

Jessiecat27 · 17/03/2017 09:59

Thirdeye I've been having night sweats too!

MistyBxx · 17/03/2017 10:00

Oh I didn't know that about sides, I'm sure mine has been more left! Not that I can feel it much today 😳
God literally every tiny sensation (or lack of) has become so important hasn't it!
How is everyone's cm? I constantly feel a little damp down there lol sorry tmi, and I run to the toilet in a panic but it's just cm, not shedloads of it, and I'm not even sure if it's any different to what I used to get pre-pg or pre-ttc I'm just wondering if it's normal to have cm. it's not overly egg whitey, I can't really describe the texture it's just there 😂

Jessiecat27 · 17/03/2017 10:02

Misty mine Is the same, keep panicking and running the loo too! Wonder if we will still be doing all of this by the third trimester?

THirdEeye · 17/03/2017 10:04

Misty mines the same.

MistyBxx · 17/03/2017 10:04

jessicat you can tell your bloody bosses that it's called morning sickness because it happens in the morning of your pregnancy (the first 3 months) not the morning of the day 🙈 common misconception lol.
I haven't felt bad at all yet so no time off for me but I work in the government and their maternity rights and benefits are amazing so I'll be lucky with that if/when I need it x

Lemondrop09 · 17/03/2017 10:07

Jessiecat - is your sickness normally in the morning? Or are they making assumptions on the name? Because my sickness was all morning, all afternoon and all evening!!!! I've been signed off with it for 5 weeks, so they should count themselves lucky your going in at all! Oooh their attitude has made me angry!

Hi btw, I've not posted on this thread before. I'm 11 weeks with my first.

I've got really hot at night the last few nights, insomnia etc. Had to sleep with the window open last night.

Jessiecat27 · 17/03/2017 10:13

Misty see my company is pretty good pregnancy wise but my bosses just have no empathy at all
Lemon congratulations and welcome! They're making assumptions, I've not long told them and it's only kicked in properly the past few days! Luckily my old boss (same company) has told me I can move store and work with her so if they'reakong me feel awful where I am now I can always request too move. I have a massive phobia of being sick but that's the price we have to pay and I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end! (:

Lemondrop09 · 17/03/2017 10:29

Ah the option to move is good to have up your sleeve. If I were you, I'd throw up on your current boss' shoes - in the afternoon - just to make a point Wink

sophr2017 · 17/03/2017 11:00

I had a week off but luckily I work for a small company (with a manager who recently had a baby through IVF) so they are really understanding and I can work from home as well! I bloody wish it was only in the morning, I completely get what you mean about the bus etc. Sod them they shouldn't be allowed to make you feel guilty; if they carry on I'd be tempted to get myself signed off sick!! Hope you start to feel better!

Welcome LemonDrop! Have you got your scan soon then? I'm 9+5 today and can't wait for my scan!

ew1990 · 17/03/2017 11:08

I've got my first doctors appointment later this afternoon, I've wore white knickers everyday since I found out so I can see if there's any blood! I'm gunna try my hardest now to stop worrying, it's nice to know I'm not the only one though, I'm 26 and my mum and aunties have all got 6 or 7 kids so I come from a big family x my nipples have got bigger but that just makes my boobs look smaller 😂😂

Jessiecat27 · 17/03/2017 11:30

Lemondrop that's tempting!
Soph thankyou, I think if they had of had children before they may be more understanding but if it carries on and gets any worse I think I will have to!
ew let us know how it goes! (:

Lemondrop09 · 17/03/2017 11:50

Hi sophr, yes my scan is on Tuesday Shock its terrifying. I had an early scan at 8 weeks because my sickness was so severe, and that was all fine. I have no reason to think anything is wrong, but it's still so worrying. I'll be glad when it's over and I can start telling some people, as I've barely left the house in 5 weeks due to sickness and people are really starting to think something is wrong! I had to tell family, close friends and work already because of the sickness

mrsjkerry · 17/03/2017 12:24

My school would be pissed if I didn't come in because then they'd have to find cover. I'd also have to set it so I always come in unless I physically can't.

Lemon - welcome.

Misty I feel wet too. Constantly think it's blood coming but it's just watery 😄 I think I definitely have more CM now pregnant

ew1990 · 17/03/2017 13:04

@mrsjkerry I constantly feel like that too, everyday I wake up and feel a little less worried, I'm hoping after 12 weeks I won't worry xxx

ew1990 · 17/03/2017 13:05

@mrsjkerry I meant I feel like that with the wet feeling but it's just cm x

ew1990 · 17/03/2017 16:03

I was in and out of the doctors, asked me am I taking folic acid and I had to book in with midwife, my appointments on 3rd April, it's gunna drag xxx

mrsjkerry · 17/03/2017 16:37

I've promised myself that after my early ultrasound I can stop worrying about miscarriage. After the blood test At 12 weeks I can stop worrying about Down Syndrome etc too.

ew1990 · 17/03/2017 16:53

@mrsjkerry I know that's what I said to myself, just take each day as it comes until 12 weeks! Only 6 more to go, we will be fine xx

mrsjkerry · 17/03/2017 18:56

So... I havent been intimate with my dp since we conceived.. and I'm a little worried about having sex:( Girls how do you feel about it?

mrsjkerry · 17/03/2017 19:54

I haven't either but apparently it's fine. I told mine to wait until we've had the 8 week scan and I can check it's still in there!

OP posts:
ew1990 · 17/03/2017 20:01

Once we've dtd and I was worrying the whole time! Not had the energy to do it lately anyway 😂

Lemondrop09 · 17/03/2017 20:01

Wow, what an afternoon Hmm

I'd already been worrying about my scan next week, as my sickness has been tailing off. I know this could just be because end of first trimester, but HG normally hangs around till week 20. I was worried something was going wrong, rather than I was just lucky the sickness was calming down.

Then I went to the loo this afternoon, wiped, saw brown discharge and freaked out! Spoke to EPU but they said they couldn't see me without a referral from the GP but their first appointment wasn't until Monday - but to go to A&E if it got worse over the weekend Confused Not exactly comforting.

Despite having my scan on Tuesday next week, I'd have driven myself crazy over the next four days. We decided to just pay for a private scan to put our minds at rest. So glad that we did

Baby is fine, everything is normal. Measuring 5 days ahead. Horrible feeling hours but I feel soooooo much better now, plus I got our first scan photos Smile

mrsjkerry · 17/03/2017 20:08

Congrats lemon very happy for you!

I am panicking about a very hot bath that I had a few days after I found out I was pregnant. I've done the reading and now use a bath thermometer and check my temp to make sure it hasn't risen; but what it that first bath that I had did some damage!!!!!
