Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Hello! I hope it is ok if I jump in. I got my first bfp on Saturday and am coming up to 5 weeks, due 17th November (I think).

Misty I started getting af like pains on Wednesday so was a bit disappointed as af was due on Thursday but never appeared, today is the first day without the achey pains so I don't think it is anything to worry about 😊

I am feeling very tired at the moment and occasionally nauseous! I have already had to tell my boss as I work with chemicals so had to have my job changed immediately... I couldn't help worrying if my colleagues had worked it out today!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 15/03/2017 17:30

Hello! I got my BFP today, think I'm due 24th November. So excited but have no idea what to do next. Phoned my doctor who told me I don't need an appointment to see them and to come in and get a maternity pack.
Does anyone know what's in that?

Jessiecat27 · 15/03/2017 17:58

Congratulations ladies! I've not had a maternity pack but I was referred to a hospital nearby, I didn't want to go there so I've rang another maternity unit and booked in with them, just waiting for my appointment letter! You have a booking in appointment around 8 weeks (depends on your area) and then your first scan at 13 weeks (:

ew1990 · 15/03/2017 18:40

I rang my doctors and they told me I have to see a doctor first, don't know why? Probably just to comfirm it, I'm there on Friday but the days are going sooooo slow xxx

sophr2017 · 15/03/2017 18:50

My doctors won't see you first, I got given a central number for the midwife team in the area who then directed me to a webpage and I then had to fill a form in and email it and wait! I waited 3 weeks to hear from them, and have just had my booking in app. I don't see my midwife at my normal doctors, and apparently there are only 3 midwifes in such a huge area I'm in Shock

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 15/03/2017 18:56

Wow, it's crazy how it varies by area! I was going to wait to contact anyone just in case this isn't a sticky one, but if it can take that long then I'm not sure about it.
I'm about to order a load of books on Amazon so I feel like I'm doing something, and will go to boots for vitamins after that.

sophr2017 · 15/03/2017 18:59

I would call your doctor to see their procedure as soon as you have your first bfp after your period was due so you are late!

MistyBxx · 15/03/2017 19:45

Evening girlies. Congrats and welcome to the newbies! Mad how different all the areas are! My docs won't see me, told me to ring midwife dept of the local small hospital directly, who told me I was too early at 4+3 to make an appt and to call back at 6+ to make an apt for when I'm 8+ 😳 I'm not 6 weeks til tomoz so time is dragging for me!

On a different note, came across this earlier! Thought it would be useful 😊

ew1990 · 15/03/2017 19:49

First thing I did was go and get nicotine patches and quit smoking and got folic acid, hoping to the doctor will give me some info, xxx

mrsjkerry · 15/03/2017 21:14

I'm so confused. Some websites say to avoid fish oil supplements but some say to take them for the omega 3!?! Any idea!?

OP posts:
NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 15/03/2017 21:26

I bought pregnacare max, which includes an omega 3 capsule, so I say go for it.

sophr2017 · 15/03/2017 21:43

I am taking the Seven Seas pregnancy tablets, however when I saw the midwife Monday, she said that they are all well and good but all you actually need is folic acid and vitamin d, but only vitamin d not multivitamins as there is one vitamin you shouldn't have during pregnancy (I want to say A but really can't remember). She said the multipacks are just overpriced and unnecessary, so I think I'll just buy them when these run out!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 15/03/2017 21:48

I agree the pregnacare is probably overkill soph, but there was a 3for2 in boots so I thought why not.
I'm not sure what half the stuff in them is!
That said, I know they have calcium and I'm lactose intolerant and don't get enough of that in my normal diet, so I'm happy with them.

MistyBxx · 15/03/2017 21:53

I take pregnacare original, midwife suggested taking folic acid on the phone and when I said I was taking these, she was like "oh brilliant, that's great!" I know they're expensive and most reviews say you only need a couple of plain supplements but tbh, until my bfp, my diet has been awful, I don't get enough fruit and veg at the best of times and never have lol so in my mind, the more vitamins the better! My diet is improving, eating lots of veg, still not much fruit but hoping these badboys are topping me up :)

sophr2017 · 15/03/2017 21:59

Ooh I forgot I got a free little tester pack of the pregnacare in my file from MW so will use those too! To be honest I just bought the cheapest pregnancy vitamin pack from Asda and ended up with the Seven Seas one! Folic acid is pretty expensive on its own anyway (unless you can get it at a big supermarket) I had to get my first lot at a little local pharmacy and cost a fortune!

Jessiecat27 · 15/03/2017 22:21

I have the boots own pregnancy support which was fairly cheap and was recommended to me!

Danni2234 · 16/03/2017 09:57

I've also just found out im pregnant, Not been to the docs yet positive test on Tuesday and then again Wednesday and today. Athe the end of January I had a period but it's wasn't normal.. more like brownish pinkish blood only last a day or two. My cycle has never beending regular and I think I had my last proper period December (it's usually every 1-2 months ) also around that time I was been sick nearly everyday. I took two test the beginning of Feb both negative and then I never thought much more of it. Tuesday night after a few days of having sensitive nipples I decided to take the further tests (all positive) . I've yet to attend the docs waiting on am app. Does anyone else think I'm possibly 5/6 weeks rather than 1-2 ? I'm just concerned as well as I've been under a lot of stress recently die to attending the hugh court as a main witness in regards to incidents that went on with an ex partner 2 years ago will the stress harm the baby? I was on both the cont pill but also an to depressants I've now stop taking both of these. Forster and unexpected pregnancy any advise would be good thanks. Oh I've also realised over the past few days I've had a runny nose and sneezing like mad almost like hay fever although I don't have that.

Lucya123 · 16/03/2017 10:17

congratulations Danni! Could you take one of the tests that tells you roughly how far along you are?

Danni2234 · 16/03/2017 10:23

I've just phoned the docs waiting for a call back at somepoint today. I think if I need to wait a few days I will b7y one of they tests (never thought of that lol)

mrsjkerry · 16/03/2017 11:57

Is anyone else cold? I feel cold ALL the time now!?

OP posts:
Jessiecat27 · 16/03/2017 12:10

Danni congratulations! I'm not too sure how far along I am either but waiting for my first appointment! I'm flitting between hot and cold, the nausea is definitely creeping in but I don't feel as bloated or tired today!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 16/03/2017 12:13

Congratulations Danni Flowers

And I'm freezing! And nearly cried in Tesco as I couldn't find the petits filous.
I'm not even sure why I wanted them but I really wanted them.

Anyone else an emotional wreck or having slightly odd cravings?

MrsB12345 · 16/03/2017 12:14

@mrsjkerry I'm cold all the time which is unusual as I'm always hot x

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 16/03/2017 12:14

Actually, maybe it's a calcium thing. They're tiny so about the only yoghurt pot I can stomach as too much dairy makes me ill.

Jessiecat27 · 16/03/2017 12:15

Cuppatea I cried at cat videos yesterday but that's nothing too unusual! Blush
