Haz my lower back is so effin painful at times, it's shit. I do wonder if it's just product of things getting a "bit crowded" in there (14w today). Factor in a tilted uterus... maybe that's why the trains need to leave the station with more urgency IYSWIM.

In other news I ate a shitload of Brie without thinking today. Cosmic.

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 19:37

Oh legend I'm glad it's not just me! You read so much about it being a sign of MC but it comes and goes and doesn't feel like it did when I miscarried before, it's just really sore and definitely worse if I'm stood up too long etc. It just feels like pressure, you are probably right about it all just getting a bit crowded in there.
I keep forgetting if I have two cups of tea I have to think about how much chocolate I'm consuming because of the caffeine. It's so easy to forget these things and decaf tea is just bleugh. OH is trying to be all good and responsible bringing me up a cuppa tea in the morning but it always tastes like dishwater. I'm sure the odd slip won't do any harm! X

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 19:38

Although I must add for anyone who hates decaf tea (even the Yorkshire teabags are crap!) if you put the teabag in, add hot water and leave for thirty seconds, tip away the water and use the same teabag again the caffeine is supposedly released in the first thirty seconds so you have effectively got rid of it, and I find it still tastes like normal tea that way! Happy days :)

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/04/2017 20:49

Good tip Haz! I hadn't heard that before and do find my Yorkshire decaf is not the same taste as the caffeinated version. I'll be keeping everything crossed for your scan.

Lixon · 19/04/2017 20:49

Congratulations on your scan Amy, must be a lovely relief and such a clear picture! Also to monkey and little pooch for your scans.

It's really nice there's such a range of pregnancies on here, while it's lovely to hear about those in the same boat it's also really reassuring to see people successfully having made it through difficulties.

I'm counting the days to my first scan next week at 6w4 and dosed up with a cocktail of supplements to (hopefully!) help make it through..

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 21:20

Thank you say. It's so nerve wracking.

Lixon the mix of different stages and experiences is very comforting. Good luck for your scan next week x

knorrig · 19/04/2017 21:30

Congrats Amy great news.

I got paranoid about movement today as it felt like it had really decreased. I turned to dr Google and it said don't wait for the next day and to ring midwife/hospital. I did and they told me to come straight in to be checked over. They were really good and never made me feel like I was wasting their time (I told them I'd felt a kick whilst in the waiting room) They put me on an ECG monitor for 30 mins which checked his heart and i was given a thing to press when I felt movement - he had then started moving lots - typical!! Anyway, all good and my mind is at rest...for now! Made me think I should def crack on and sort my hospital bag though!
30+4

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/04/2017 22:05

Knorrig I'm glad you got some reassurance.

Those that are a bit later on, when your movements started did it ever feel like something was just pressed right against the front of the uterus? After a few days of what I think is the start of movements, I've noticed I sometimes get this when I'm laid down/rested and wondering if it's bubs. It also sometimes feels like my insides are rolling Confused

INeedNewShoes · 19/04/2017 22:08

Ooh 30+4 Knorrig! You've been racking up the weeks too Grin

The time I went in for CTG monitoring the staff were lovely too. My baby until recently has had a pattern of being active for a couple of days then going completely quiet for hours on end which was very trying. Seems to be moving around more these past few days though so it's a relief to have plenty of reassuring movements for now.

knorrig · 20/04/2017 11:57

Say I think mine started about 18/19 weeks and it was the fluttering inside that I felt first - before a kick. Then after 20 weeks it started feeling more like kicks...and then he got progressively more active!

Yes newshoes it does feel like I'm on countdown now I've gone past the 30 week mark - I'm convinced he'll be early for some reason too! Glad you've got the relief of movements too...scary isn't it - I did read that the bigger they get the less room they have to move around which makes sense.

oliversmummy26 · 20/04/2017 12:09

I have completely given up on decaff and just limiting myself to two cups of coffee a day, though I very very rarely manage to drink it all before it goes cold so do tend to allow myself a cup of tea in the afternoons if I need a pick me up..it's a bit naughty, but I'm not really factoring in chocolate in my caffeine in take..

Beans very jealous of your accidental brie consumption! I nearly had a brie and bacon panini the other day as nhs website says it's fine if cooked, but I asked my midwife at booking in and she said best to avoid completely...I think she's a bit pants to be honest so am inclined to ignore her, but still ended up having ham and cheddar instead, not nearly so yummy! I will be stocking up on brie and paté and cured meats before this ones due so I can have midnight feasts and raid the fridge during night feeds! Grin

say how many weeks are you now? I think I started to feel flutters at about 15 weeks, but they're definitely there and a lot more frequent now at 19+4. I always tend to feel mine in the middle fairly low just above my pubic bone. They do feel just like flutters or bubbles popping at first. I've had a couple of bigger kicks, but nothing regular like that yet. I started off mostly feeling them in the mornings or evenings when I was still and quiet. But getting them almost all day long at work now. I can feel his sleep and wake patterns. He seems to have 30-60 mins of movements then asleep and nothing for the same amount of time. I've got a kick counter app on my phone and I've usually had the 10 movements within an hour to an hour and a half. It's so lovely. As they still have so much room in there just now, there's more frequent movements than later on I think.

I'm looking forward to the rolls and hiccups I remember from last pregnancy later on Smile

INeedNewShoes · 20/04/2017 12:16

Knorrig - my baby is the wrong way up so has plenty of room to kick my lower uterus. Baby's head, bottom and the placenta are all above my belly button which is blooming uncomfortable but means lots of room for kicking me!

knorrig · 20/04/2017 12:37

The hiccups are very cute!

Newshoes does that mean you'll have to have a csec?

pickledsausage · 20/04/2017 12:42

Wow this thread moves quickly!

@Hazandduck gosh 4.5 years is a long time, my heart goes out to them! How exciting their baby will be here very soon. A friend of mine is due today as well, eek! Just seen you have your first scan tomo, wishing you all the very best

Glad to hear I'm not alone with the constipation! I'm on cyclogest as well which I've read can make it worse, brilliant. Am eating loads of veg and hoping for the best...!

@Amy congrats on your scan!

I can't wait to feel all this lovely movement (hopefully in this pregnancy!!)

INeedNewShoes · 20/04/2017 13:09

Knorrig - unless baby turns (having ECV on Tuesday) I'll be booked in for a CS the following week.

Hazandduck · 20/04/2017 13:13

Thank you pickled. I'm starting to get butterflies now thinking about it.
Oh no rubbish you are in the constipation club too, I've been snacking on dried apricots like a proper old grandma today haha x

Mummy93 · 20/04/2017 14:20

Hi i rang my early pregnancy unit with concerns as was having pains so I panicked that it was happening again. They gave me blood test yday to check my hcg levels and came back at 22000 so they've scanned me today. Confirmed I'm 5 weeks 6 days and saw a heartbeat ☺ so happy that everything is OK at the moment.
Is.it normal for my levels to be this high as everything I've read no one had it this high.

Miami81 · 20/04/2017 14:22

Hi
Is everyone with constipation taking pregnacare? I took it for two days and was in agony. Have returned to taking all components separately (minus the iron) as it is really awful being in pain.

Miami81 · 20/04/2017 14:23

That's great mummy.
Sorry I have never had hcg taken so don't know. High is good though??

Miami81 · 20/04/2017 14:24

Any chance of a second heartbeat? I think that's a reason for high hcg?

Mummy93 · 20/04/2017 14:24

Oh also it wasn't an internal scan like I was expecting either which was odd!

Mummy93 · 20/04/2017 14:25

They only picked up one heartbeat on the scan. Not sure if it's accurate this early? I had really early symptoms and very strong symptoms this time around so I expected to see 2 heart beats but nope.

Hazandduck · 20/04/2017 14:33

That's quite amazing they saw anything with an ultrasound and didn't need to look internally. It's excellent news you saw the healthy bean.
I'm on Sainsbury's own brand of conception capsules miami they contain ginger and I've had minimal nausea so I wonder if that's to thank? I have taken this for ages though pretty much since I first fell pregnant last summer so I don't think that can be causing my tummy troubles now.
Oddly enough the last few days I've started to have little moments of nausea and feeling sick after eating, has anyone else experienced sickness late in the first trimester? I thought I'd got away with it! It's only a little feeling of being unsettled but I hope it's not the start of morning sickness!

Mummy93 · 20/04/2017 14:38

Yeah I was quite shocked everyone told me it would be an internal scan so was really nervous and never had one of them before. But walked in and was told to expose my lower belly and he saw it straight away. Even though my bladder was empty, as didn't drink anything as wasn't expecting a normal scan. Wasn't allowed a picture or to take one so was bit disappointed but so happy there was a heartbeat. Really obvious heartbeat as well. Baby is 4.5mm. Just revealed in a way it isn't twins as I already have 2 kids so would of been a challenge for sure!
I just must produce high levels of hcg.

Hazandduck · 20/04/2017 16:02

Ah mummy that is lovely you've got to see it :)

I'm feeling quite sick this afternoon, I'm reading a book set in India at the moment, ended up googling Indian holidays and then reading about how many times people have been ill while visiting and just reading it made me feel sick! So odd. And now I am craving cornbeef hash which I usually cannot stand but my OH loves and his mum always used to make for us when we lived with her, to my horror! What is going on? It's definitely his child growing in there...
