Welcome pickle, it sounds like you are in good hands with your doctor, fingers crossed you get your rainbow. Are you trying for number 1?

pickledsausage · 19/04/2017 07:26

Thank you! Yes trying for our first. What about you?

GingerHanna · 19/04/2017 07:39

Welcome pickled. Sorry to hear that you're in our club but you should not feel like a fraud at all!

GingerHanna · 19/04/2017 07:43

I'm trying not to have a mini-meltdown in the middle of the office right now.

Woke up without the usual heavy sore boobs (admittedly they have been getting a little better each day but today I could get up without supporting them as I moved - I have huge boobs); then I'm feeling sick but pretty sure it's hunger as didn't eat much yesterday but maybe it's nausea; and now I have mild cramps right down low and deep. Not had those so far this pregnancy and I know it could just be my uterus and surrounding area stretching etc but I am freaking out!

I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, mc at 6 weeks last time and had been feeling very calm and surprisingly relaxed. Not now. Please reassure me and tell me it's all normal!

INeedNewShoes · 19/04/2017 07:53

I had cramping (and sometimes stabby pains) throughout my first and second trimester and everything was fine Ginger. Definitely no need to panic yet. Obviously if it turns into pain rather than just cramping you might want to get checked over but chances are that everything's fine. There's a lot of stretching going on at your stage which you're bound to feel.

Miami81 · 19/04/2017 08:09

Ginger
I was speaking to a friend who suffered two mc between her two healthy pregnancies and I was interrogating her about if she could tell the difference. She said no, so I know that's not particularly helpful, but it is just to say that random pains are part of normal pregnancy too. Get checked over if pain intensifies.
4+1 today. Time moves so slowly. Spoke to my counsellor yesterday by email and she was saying to try to be in the moment and enjoy it. So today I am pregnant. I have allowed myself a wee moment of thinking what it could be like to actually make it past 8 weeks. Scary.

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 08:29

Ginger I think at about 10 weeks your hormones may be starting to balance out a bit so that may be why your breasts aren't feeling as sore. Also, I think we notice every little ache and pain because we are constantly looking for them. It could be something as harmless as trapped wind. You've seen a heartbeat already so I would hold on to that and speak to your midwife if you get really anxious xx

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 08:32

Pickled yes we are trying for number 1! I'm sure all this stress and worry will be worth it when we have our healthy babies in our arms. My sister in law is due on Thursday after they tried for 4 and a half years, they'd just started investigations when she fell, so I count myself lucky that I fall pregnant very easily and just have to hope my body holds on to this one this time. I'm beyond happy for my brother and can't wait to meet my little nephew, it is just going to be hard keeping tight lipped about our pregnancy when there's going to be so much baby talk flying around the family!

GingerHanna · 19/04/2017 09:47

Thank you all. I do think you're right that I'm just going through a new phase and the symptoms are shifting... the underlying nausea is back and strangely reassuring.

And yes, I think I've been getting worked up over a bit of wind! Given how constipated I am (new symptom over the last week) it would make absolute sense. Cannot believe I'm getting worked up over needing a fart!

It's nice that my boobs are starting to hurt less. I was a 30G before getting pregnant and went to a 30GG within two weeks. It'll be a relief to have them feel a bit more normal for a bit...

INeedNewShoes · 19/04/2017 09:59

Ginger - my advice to you would be to make a concerted effort re constipation now before it gets to crisis point! In trying to avoid meds for it I upped the amount of water I am drinking quite a bit, have added a small handful of dried apricots as a mid-morning snack and have added a bowl of branflakes as supper (all this on top of my diet which is pretty good anyway as I eat plenty of fruit & veg as a matter of course).

This might spare you half an hour sitting on the bog wondering if you'll ever go again... Blush

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 10:03

I've had very painful constipation for a couple of weeks now! It is quite a sharp pain at times, normally just goes once I'm able to finally poop! I was in so much pain the other day I could've cried on the loo! But I would much rather it be constipation pain than anything baby related so I'll suck it up! I've been eating a lot of junk recently so I think that is to blame as I'm usually really healthy. I just can't help it, I need hot cross buns and chocolate! 😄

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 10:04

Ginger let it rip haha x

littlepooch · 19/04/2017 10:25

Hello all!

Had my 20 week scan yesterday and all was looking good. It was so so lovely to see baby again. Feeling lots of movement is helping calm me down a bit too. For a moment yesterday I allowed myself to think that we may actually have another real baby along with DD and it was a lovely feeling.

I have read back and I see I have missed quite a bit. But glad to see everyone is soldiering on. The first trimester especially is hard, take it one day at a time and try not to worry too much about symptoms etc, easier said than done I know.

Hello to newbies and hello to the familiar faces!

INeedNewShoes · 19/04/2017 10:32

Fab news littlepooch Smile It does all feel a lot easier once you can feel movements, doesn't it. The daily reassurance that baby is ok in there is so helpful for us worriers!

I'm 37 weeks today. I can't quite believe I'm at this point. I still have a week's worth of work to do so I'm crossing my fingers that baby is going to stay put!

knorrig · 19/04/2017 11:26

How exciting newshoes so close now! I remember you getting your BFP!

Congrats Littlepooch and Monkey on your successful scans.

Haz I hope it eases for you v soon, not a nice feeling. For constipation, I had to resort to laculose as I wasn't going - it tastes gross (although some might like it as it's like pure syrup!) but it is effective!

Thinking of you Miami as these first few weeks do really drag and it's so tough with the anxiety...but today you are pregnant :)

I'm now 30+4, was having a wobble this morning as I couldn't feel many kicks when I woke up but have felt lots of movement since!

Sorry to who I've missed, I need to catch up properly!!

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 11:37

Thanks knorrig. Not long for you to go now! How exciting. Do you know what you're expecting?

knorrig · 19/04/2017 11:54

Yes, it's a boy. Both of us wanted to know so we found out at the 20 week scan. It definitely helped make it feel more real for both of us...and nice to refer to him as 'he' rather than it! I totally get how people also want to wait too as my sis waited and had hers 10 days ago and it was a nice surprise finding out it was a girl.

oliversmummy26 · 19/04/2017 12:28

littlepooch great news on your scan Smile I have mind next Wednesday and can't wait! I've convinced myself this week that I have placenta previa and have stupidly scared myself reading horror stories of ladies with little ones at home being admitted to hospital from 30 weeks due to bleeds and not being allowed out until baby is here Sad

Fingers crossed I just have a sensitive cervix hence all the bleeds!

knorrig · 19/04/2017 13:05

I do have a low lying placenta Olivers it was low at 20 week scan and still low at 28 weeks so I'm worried it won't move! I have another scan at 32 weeks so hopefully there will have been some movement then.

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 13:08

Google can be a blessing and a curse oliver all this information at your fingertips, but also the very worst case scenarios that are highly unlikely to occur! Good luck for Wednesday. I have my first scan Friday. So nervous.

Ah that's lovely knorrig, I used to never want to find out but now I feel like I want to know because of previous losses I just think it'll be more real if I know the gender. My OH really doesn't want to know though so I think I may leave it up to him if we get that far. Congrats on becoming an auntie too :) x

theotherendofthesockportal · 19/04/2017 13:15

I'm having a rubbish day today. My first day back at work since Easter and I've decided I absolutely hate my job and if I wasn't pregnant I would be applying elsewhere.

I'm also constipated, haven't been for 3 days (sorry TMI). And I feel emotional. I am actually hiding in my car stuffing my face with Greggs sausage role and crying.

I'm nervous about the early scan I've booked tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed tomorrow evening that I will be a happy person again.

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/04/2017 13:24

Haz how far along will you be for your scan?

Sorry you're having a rubbish day Sock. How far along do you think you'll be at your scan? The hiding with a Greggs sounds like bliss to me. I'm away on a course and just hiding in a quiet corner for a few minutes wondering if I can feel baby moving or if it's just lunch settling Blush

AmyB1986 · 19/04/2017 16:29

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok.

Sorry to anyone having a hard time at the min.

I've just been for my dating scan. Baby is measuring 13+6 so they've changed my dd to 19th oct now! We have one very wriggly not so blob looking baby now.

After two mc's last year there is hope. Baby 7 is a fighter! Dd's are so happy and excited they've gone to the park to jump their excitement away!

TheLegendOfBeans · 19/04/2017 18:34

Ginger this may not help but I've been getting some really painful pains this time; I didn't have them last time and I wonder bf it's cos I didn't have a whacking great big uterine scar last time.

You have to hang on, 10 weeks is a good marker, distraction is key. As you guys know I lost it right on the cusp of the 12w scan, and it was ok. Today you are pregnant xxx

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 18:45

Ah fingers crossed for you sock! You've made me really want a sausage roll. I think sometimes a big cry can actually help. Just let's off some pressure sometimes.

Say by my last period I should be 10+6 but I am just imagining them telling me I can't possibly be that far along and that the baby hasn't grown and all sorts of awful things! Imagination can be a terrible thing. I've got a tilted uterus so I'm wondering if they will be able to see it clearly. I really don't want an internal scan as I find them painful, they said it is because of how my uterus is positioned. I I wonder if this is what is causing me to have such a bad back, I've had it on and off for weeks and it is worse when i need to go number 2 or to pass wind! Blush
