Thanks sock.
Yes I remember loads of names, I have read back through some of the posts. Delighted to see purple, Bec and alb have had their babies (I probably missed more, but I remember those names from the last time I was on here in November).
I am feeling pretty calm about it at the moment as there is literally nothing I can do now. The dye has been cast or whatever the expression is. I will either be here on Christmas Day really hoping that the wee blighter makes an appearance soon as I am so uncomfortable, or we will be in a different scenario.
How far along are you now? How are you feeling?

INeedNewShoes · 15/04/2017 18:41

Miami - great to see you on the thread Smile Crossing my fingers for you that this is a sticky one. Glad you're taking it all in your stride.

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/04/2017 21:15

@Miami81 I am nearly 9 weeks according to the midwifes calculations but my dates I am 10 weeks. I'm scared as this is where it went wrong for me last time although I didn't know that until week 13.

I'm feeling tired, had several people tell me I look well today. And I look like I've eaten all the Easter eggs! How are you feeling?

TheLegendOfBeans · 15/04/2017 22:11

Say I'm having my 20w scan at 19w as we are leaving the country....so if there's anything not right they pick up then I have 2 weeks before we go to address it.

There's won't be anything wrong. I'm just being really officious about this.

A few names in particular on here I now recognise from the TTC thread namely Miami81 - saying hello and hope you are here for much, much longer x

Miami81 · 15/04/2017 22:39

Hi newshoes & beans. I am glad to be here again finally - we took a small break to get some rmc tests done, but also I think it helped us both emotionally.
It all feels very surreal. It has only been 2 days so hopefully I start to feel more relaxed as we go on.
Sock it must be really hard when you get to the same stage as last time, I really feel for you. My mantra at the moment is that the stats are on our sides. I have everything crossed for you.
My stumbling block seems to be around 6-7 weeks so don't think I will have a scan until 8 if I can resist (says she bravely, thinking that is 30 epically long days away............)

INeedNewShoes · 15/04/2017 23:21

Miami - I remarkably made it until 9+2 before caving and having a scan. It was worth holding out as long as I could because it meant that whatever the scan showed was going to be relatively conclusive (unlike having a scan at 6 weeks where they can't find a heartbeat because it's too early and having an agonising week's wait to see if things progress).

Miami81 · 16/04/2017 09:44

Just in terms of aspirin and anything else that I could be doing that would make me feel useful - I know @knorrig that you went gluten free. I haven't so far and wondered whether it would be too late now. Were you very strict with it? Like soy sauce and stock cubes etc, or did you just switch out bread and pasta?
Also - I have been taking Chlorella (similar to spirulina) anyone got any opinions on taking this? It's seem to be like high dose b vits and is a sea algae, not going to bother asking my doc as they won't know what it is!! I haven't taken any the last two days.

Miami81 · 16/04/2017 09:46

Newshoes
That is exactly my thinking we have been in that horrible, hmmmmm there isn't a heartbeat, but it's so small that there may be one any second two times now. It was awful. That wait was the pits. Hoping to avoid that this time.

INeedNewShoes · 16/04/2017 09:50

Red wine and cayenne pepper both apparently promote blood flow to the uterus so I allowed myself a small glass (I'm talking 1/3 of a small glass) of red wine roughly once a week and added cayenne pepper when making things like bolognaise, stews etc.

I also took Wild Nutrition pregnancy capsules - all food-based supplements that have been developed by someone with a special interest in fertility. They cost a bomb though! I took them daily for the first three months and then took them every other day and have now stopped taking them all together.

I'm pretty sure that none of these things actually made the difference, but it made me feel as though I was doing something useful Smile

Miami81 · 16/04/2017 10:03

Ok cayenne pepper I can do. I like hot things. Myself and OH have agreed that for this pregnancy I won't have any alcohol at all - I had had some of the low alcohol beers (0.5%) and low alchohol wines before, but just not gonna bother for the 12 weeks if we get that far. I beat myself up about it too much (if that makes sense). I am taking vitamin e as well for blood flow and keeping up my acupuncture. Will definitely look into those tablets, thanks new shoes. I have been taking ubiquinol up to now which is eyewateringly expensive!!

knorrig · 16/04/2017 10:21

@Miami81 so happy to see you on here!! I really do hope this one works out for you.

Yes my acupuncturist recommended I try going gluten free for the first 12 weeks but I wasn't at all strict - I did avoid pasta and bread when I could but not the sauces etc (I didn't realise how many sauces etc contained gluten!) to be honest when I got to about 7 weeks I felt so sick I barely ate anything anyway! I also kept up with the acupuncture weekly too, I'd been doing it beforehand (initially to bring my AF back on track after MC 2 as I bled for nearly 3 months after MC1) and she suggested weekly for first 12 weeks - if anything it helped keep me calm and helped the sickness! I was also taking vitamin E and metafollin (my acupuncturist recommended this as a more hardcore folic acid)

I had a scan at 7+4 as I had an appointment with RMC at 7+6 so I wanted to know before that appointment if anything was wrong. We saw 2 sacs and 2 heartbeats - unfortunately 1 was smaller and heartbeat slower and that one didn't make it but we were just so happy and relieved that there was one.

Like newshoes said, I'm not sure if any of the things I did helped but it helped me think I was doing something. There was someone being cynical on another thread about acupuncturist's ripping people off when they think it's helping with fertility etc but I've never felt that with mine - we went to monthly after 12 weeks and it's always been up to me if I want to carry on - I'd have agreed to every weeks for 40 weeks if she'd told me to.

knorrig · 16/04/2017 10:22

I took so long to type that that I've now seen your next one saying you're doing vit E and acupuncture!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 16/04/2017 18:57

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here for ages. Just tried to have a bit of a catch up and so many new names. Congrats to you all.
alb, bec and purple glad you are all doing well (or as well as can be expected).

I'm 24+2 now and just pootling along. Feeling regular movements which is nice. Occasional panics that there will be something horribly wrong with baby, sometimes it does these really odd movements that I wonder if it's having some kind of fit as it feels like the whole thing is jerking around not just a leg or arm!
Generally doing ok though freaked myself out by reading the post-natal ward horrors thread. Not looking forward to being in hospital again. Wish I had more space at home as I would definitely opt for home birth!
Another 4 weeks before I see midwife again but not that bothered as the appointments are always shit anyway.

Anyway, hope everyone is well and enjoying easter break. Sending hope for those in the early weeks, it's such a tough time but it does get easier.

Hazandduck · 16/04/2017 21:51

Feeling so anxious today. 10+1 and having cramping and back ache, which I have had on and off for weeks but I previously miscarried at 10+3 both times and as the day gets nearer I'm just convinced it's going to go wrong again. I have an early scan booked for Friday but doubt I will even get that far! God I wish I could wake up and this either be over or know the baby is safe. My OH keeps telling me I have to be strong for our baby, but it's so hard to stay calm. Hope everyone is doing ok x

oliversmummy26 · 17/04/2017 01:55

Sorry ladies, middle of the night panicky post...I've just had a wee and got a good smear of pinky/red blood when I wiped. I'm exactly 19 weeks and most things I've read say that at this stage it's nothing to be too concerned about unless there's pain and lots of blood.

Went to toilet again 30 mins later and only a tiny bit of residual pink when I went looking for it. DH and i DTD last night so wonder if it's just that? Odd though as I've had no bleeding since 11 weeks and have been having regular sex.

I've felt a couple of little flutters since going to the toilet earlier and have just got my Doppler out and heard heartbeat going at 140+ bpm so I think all is well.

Just wondered if anyone else has ever experienced bleeding in 2nd trimester?

knorrig · 17/04/2017 06:52

I haven't Olivers but my sister did at 20 and 21 weeks and went in for scans (as she was down as high risk due to bicornorate uterus) and was told nothing to worry about...and had a beautiful healthy baby girl at 40+1 last week.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 17/04/2017 08:44

No bleeding in second tri here either Olivers, I guess keep an eye on it and if continues then contact someone. My pregnancy notes book tells me who to call at different stages of pregnancy.

Hopefully it's just a little blip and due to dtd.

oliversmummy26 · 17/04/2017 10:31

Called maternity triage, they can't help me as it's before 20 weeks and as it's a bank holiday (why do these things always happen to me at weekends?!) my best course is a&e. I had some more blood this morning, a bit thicker and stickier. So here we are, dropped DS off at mum's crying because is promised I would stay with him today Sad
Doesn't seem too busy, sonhoping we'll be seen fairly quickly🤞🏻

GingerHanna · 17/04/2017 11:11

Fingers crossed for you Oliver

Miami81 · 17/04/2017 11:13

Thinking of you olivers.

oliversmummy26 · 17/04/2017 11:58

Thank you, baby wriggling while we're waiting!

Lixon · 17/04/2017 12:03

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind another joining? Around 5w2 with an early scan at EPU booked for Tuesday 25 April and massively anxious/in denial about everything. Reading back through a few pages has been really heartening to see that success is possible but also so heartbreaking in that so many women have to go through such terrible trials.

I've been trying for my first for 2.5 years, 2 mcs at 5 and 6 weeks and then a tfmr at 14 weeks in February. I wanted to get referred to rmc after termination (given we likely avoided a stillbirth) but no luck yet so guessing nothing will happen unless this is another mc.

I have decided to take aspirin and maybe some additional supplements this time around to give this one the best possible chance so would welcome any thoughts/experiences of this.

Thinking of you olivers I hope you get seen quickly/everything is as it should be.

littlepooch · 17/04/2017 12:12

Hello all - dropped off for a couple of weeks as had a load of family stuff to deal with. 20+2 here and have my 20 week scan tomorrow so you can imagine the scanxiety in the pooch household today.

Welcome to all the newbies - fingers crossed for an uneventful happy journey for you all.

olivers hope you get seen quickly and it's nothing to worry about. You has bleeding after dtd in the first tri didn't you so perhaps it's just that.

Hope everyone else is well and battling on x

oliversmummy26 · 17/04/2017 15:02

Home now and taking it easy. I was seen by a doctor who had a little ultrasound machine and saw baby and heartbeat. So not too concerned. He said to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or continues to go back and he'll refer me to the gynae department.
Taking it easy this afternoon watching moana with DS

INeedNewShoes · 17/04/2017 15:38

Oliversmummy - I'm pleased to hear that everything was ok on the scan. I hope you feel reassured. I know so many people who have had bleeding in pregnancy and everything has been fine!
