Hello ladies, I've been quiet the last couple of weeks as just plodding along and had a week off with DS for his Easter hols last week - was bliss not going to work and having afternoon naps every day!

18+3 now and feeling tired, achy, headachy, snuffy nose, all normal stuff really..20 week scan 2 weeks today and already worrying that something will be wrong.

I'm getting loads of movements though, usually mornings and evenings when I'm lying down and quiet, really lovely to feel though and very reassuring.

Congrats to bec and alb - hope your little one continues to do well alb, do keep us updated..?

Legend so pleased to hear your 12 week scan went okay and baby is doing well, wonderful news!

Welcome to all the newbies and Flowers to those having a tough time, the 1st trimester is the worst!

keeponrunning85 · 12/04/2017 12:08

Thanks for the welcome. Say I have my next scan a week on Friday so not too long to wait.

knorrig · 12/04/2017 14:39

Hi Say

We had an impromtu (which in itself stressed me out) meeting with the consultant after our 12 week scan and she told us then how she'd book us in for growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks as we'd previously had 3 mc's and as this pregnancy started as a twin one but baby 2 didn't make it, that made it 3 mcs's. Initially it worried me that she thought we needed them...as if our baby wasn't going to grow...but now I'm grateful for them - I think it would stress me out if we hadn't got to see him again after the 20 week scan. We had the 28 week one last week and all good and nice to know we'll see him again in 3 weeks.
My sis had the growth scans too as she had a bicornorate uterus which could have caused her problems and she said the same how it was reassuring to keep seeing them throughout.
I totally get your anxiety, so tough after what we've all been through.

Lovely to feel the movements isn't it Olivers - mine was kicking like crazy at the weekend after we got the news of my sisters baby arriving - I think he could sense all the excitement.

Welcome Keepon sorry for your previous losses, here's to a happy healthy pregnancy for you!

SayItIsntSo1 · 12/04/2017 19:48

Thanks Knorrig, I think the extra scans will help. I also think having an induction date as a backstop might help , but I'll see how I feel later on as it's a process I'd rather avoid.

MoonlightMojitos · 12/04/2017 19:53

Good luck with baby holding our a bit longer newshoes and that's good to hear it's about right to finish work as I'm finishing at 36 weeks too and it can't come soon enough! My baby is currently transverse, I have a low lying placenta which hadn't moved when I had a scan at 30 weeks so I'm feeling like it's not going to and will end up with csec too as it's possibly in the way and the reason why baby isn't getting head down. Really hoping not and there's still a few weeks for him to move but we shall see when I have my next scan to check it's position.

knorrig · 12/04/2017 20:32

Mojitos you sound v similar to me. At 20 and 28 week scans they told me I had low lying placenta and possibility of a c section. I'm thinking if it didn't move in 8 weeks it's not gonna move! I then saw the midwife today and she said he was transverse - does this mean likely c section too? I'd rather not have one but if it's planned I feel more comfortable about it I suppose...an emergency one would stress me out!

grainmum · 12/04/2017 22:36

say pleased you had a good appointment, sounds like you have a good plan in place.

Low lying placentas and transverse lie sound like a bit of a pain. Good to be prepared in advance though. I've let my mind wonder to my own delivery a little. I think the consultant said he would expect that growth would slow and we would plan for delivery 36/37 weeks. I don't know whether that is likely to be section or induction. However I think that I would be ok with either one - I'd rather have vaginal birth if possible but if section is advised I'm not going to be precious about it.

MoonlightMojitos · 13/04/2017 12:47

knorrig that's what I'm thinking that if it hadn't moved at my 30 weeks scan then it probably won't :(, still hoping it does though. I have to go back for a final check at 36 weeks and they will decide then. Do you have another scan booked? If you're around 28 weeks now then still time for baby to move hopefully. Mine was head down at 28 weeks and only moved after that, little monkey! They give you until 36 weeks to check position as still room for them to move until then.

From what I've been told it will be a hospital stay and planned csec for transverse babies at 36w as it is an emergency if your waters break and baby is transverse (the cord can prolapse) so they generally keep you in hospital just in case for a week or so before the csec date.

If baby is head down by then, then it depends how close placenta is whether youd need a section or not, I've been told they want it to be at least 2.5cm from cervix opening. I wasn't told how close/far mine is so I've no idea how far mine has to move.

Fx for you that both baby and placenta moves too!

MonkeyPoozzled76 · 13/04/2017 13:01

Hi ladies, sorry to jump in (I've been lurking nervously as so early) but can any of you talk to me about your early symptoms? I've completely freaked myself out, I should be 6 weeks on Sunday and all my symptoms have vanished over the last week. I feel completely normal now, no bloating, boobs back to normal, no nausea nothing. I lost all my symptoms a few days before my MMC was confirmed at 10 weeks last year.

I've felt different from the start with this BFP but was keeping everything crossed as digital tests had progressed to 3+ but now I just don't know. No bleeding or cramps yet. Just so worried, can't self refer to epu so have docs at 5.10 but it's going to be next week before I find out I guess.

knorrig · 13/04/2017 14:08

Mojitos thanks v much for the info, that really helps. I've read stuff about how the baby can move and there are techniques to move the baby but I just don't get how the placenta would move. I do have another scan in just over 2 weeks at 32 weeks so hopefully they can tell me more then. I was going to do hypnobirthing but now I'm wondering if I should spend the money if it might be c section.

Monkey try not to stress too much but I know the anxiety is high at this stage. From what I've read on this thread, symptoms just change so much. For me, I had extreme tiredness just before I found out, then started feeling sick at 6 weeks and then the actual sickness kicked in at 7 weeks and lasted till about 14. Aches and cramping came and went at different times.

TheLegendOfBeans · 13/04/2017 17:25

Monkey my symptoms have been milder this pregnancy overall than the last one. Which is why I freaked out when I felt "normal" for 24-48 hrs at

6 weeks
9 weeks
12 weeks

So please keep the faith - easier said than done. Not "this pregnancy will fail". Instead "why should this pregnancy fail?"

And remember....today you are pregnant xz

PTphonehome · 14/04/2017 08:33

Monkey that happened to me too at about 5.5/6 weeks.
I'm now 9+3 and it's happening again, I realised last night that nothing hurt anymore and I'm lying here this morning having a huge pan about it all.
Try to keep calm x x
I have anther scan tomorrow at 9+4 and I'm so scared.

Corrinax · 14/04/2017 19:20

Guys gow should i feel? Im 14+2 and i havnt felt pregnant at all had scan 2 weeks ago and baby is fine but i dont feel anything just feel normal and no bump yet i have a tilted uterus and not sure if that effects when i might start to show i just dunno how my belly should feel Sad

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/04/2017 20:34

Corinna I'm exactly the same as you; even though I've got a right "cake gut" I don't look pregnant and feel basically normal. It's ok though...we saw the wee ones at 12w and they were fine. We have to believe it's still the case.

I'm weirdly zen. In the day... at night my dreams are just f**ed up. Keep having horrible graphic miscarriage dreams or dreams where DD is stolen or dies. Last night I had a 2 for 1 by dreaming both in one night. Cosmic.

AmyB1986 · 14/04/2017 21:36

Corinna I'm almost 13 weeks and don't feel pregnant at all yet still. I think it's normal to not feel it at this stage.

Legend I've been having horrible vivid dreams of miscarriage and my eldest dd dying too! They're so bad it wakes me up for me to either knicker check or check dd is still alive and in her bed. I read somewhere that dreams of death mean there will be a new addition in the family, still doesn't make sense to me though.

The only pregnancy symptom I'm having now is fatigue and sore nipples. Heaving and nausea have gone and bloat seems to have made a disappearance over the last two days, now I'm just left with a spare tyre looking tummy rather than a round bloated one!

Haven't caught up with the thread but hope everyone is doing ok

keeponrunning85 · 15/04/2017 10:17

Oh dear. I'm having a major wobble today. Just can't shake the feeling that it has all gone wrong already. Just went to the loo for a poo (sorry, tmi) and there was the tiniest tinge of pink when I wiped afterwards. I'm feeling tired but then I slept terribly last night. I know symptoms don't mean anything but I wish I felt horribly sick.

My next scan is on Friday afternoon but I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through the next 6 days.

Miami81 · 15/04/2017 11:02

Hi @keeponrunning85 I have been loitering in here since yesterday when I got a squinted at 3+4 so feeling very wary myself but couldn't not comment on your post.
You know all of this stuff yourself I just wanted to hold your hand for a bit, some small bleeding can happen to anyone at any time in a pregnancy. Try to distract yourself if you can at all, you are allowed a big old wobble any time you need as I don't see how we are supposed to get through this without them. Do something nice for yourself today if you can at all. Friday will arrive quicker then you think.

tiggykate · 15/04/2017 11:47

Hi all, can I tentatively join you? I'm 4+3 today after 3 mcs. I'm on prednisolone this time along with loads of other drugs/vitamins prescribed by Dr Shehata. I have my first reassurance scan in 12 days. I was feeling quite positive since I found out, but today I'm feeling wobbly. I did another ic test and the line wasnt much darker than the one I did 3 days ago - although the control line was a lot lighter so I'm trying to convince myself there was less dye in the test. I promised myself I wouldn't stress this time but it's so difficult to stay calm!

Hn1234 · 15/04/2017 14:13

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant after 2 miscarriages. Feeling so worried as again I've got no symptoms. I'm going to EPU some point this week (my Dr is getting me seen there after Tuesday). Both miscarriages were missed miscarriages so to go through a scan again and be told it's gone will be devastating.

SayItIsntSo1 · 15/04/2017 16:38

Hello Miami, Tiggy and Hn. I hope these pregnancies work out for you. There seems to be a good mix on the thread of those in first, second and third trimester with lots of different experiences between us.

Amy, Legend and Corrinax I'm glad it's not just me with second trimester wobbles. I was laid awake at 5am the other morning wondering if the various microscopic feelings I had in my stomach were baby and not just morning hunger. Doubtful at 16+5wks and an anterior placenta! 11 days until my next scan, 3 days since I heard baby's heartbeat and I'm already wishing the time away. Do any of you have scans planned before your 20wk one? Hopefully your MW will listen in for the heartbeat at your 16wk appointments.

SayItIsntSo1 · 15/04/2017 16:39

PT just read back up thread, I hope your scan was positive today.

keeponrunning85 · 15/04/2017 17:04

Thanks for your kind words Miami and tentative congratulations. I'm glad you're here. I saw your news back on the old thread. I was wondering if you've had any thoughts about taking Aspirin? I've decided to take it even it wasn't specifically recommended by my RMC. Figured it won't do any harm.

I think I'm just going to have to accept that today I'm having an anxious day. Generally I'm better in the week when work at least partially occupies my mind. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Corrinax · 15/04/2017 17:24

@say

My next midwife appointment is 2 n half weeks away iv been going crazy this whole pregnancy n held off on buying a doppler until now i have just ordered one coming tomo!
Babys daddy is in america for 3 weeks and im home alone, i told him all my worries this morning and he said that my best friend would be here in october (due 11th oct) n i just cried i just want to no baby is ok

Miami81 · 15/04/2017 18:09

@keeponrunning85
I have started taking the aspirin. I just feel that if all goes south again I would feel really silly for not trying it.
My rmc were a bit useless to be honest, they have discharged me with no treatment plan at all other than 'fingers crossed', which compared to some of the other ladies made me feel a bit let down. But we shall see how it goes.
I am beyond cold today, which I remember from first pregnancy as a symptom.
So yes definitely best if you can at all to just keep repeating that today you are pregnant.

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/04/2017 18:10

Hi @Miami81 it's great to see you on here. I don't know if you remember me from the other thread? Just wanted to say congratulations
