Say - I think if there is anything in your medical history that is flagged up then you will be seen by a consultant to decide whether you ought to be 'consultant led' rather than 'midwife led'. They do this relatively early on. I've found it very reassuring that the system kicks in so effectively and doesn't leave everything until later in pregnancy.

INeedNewShoes · 06/04/2017 08:15

How are you getting on Purple? Smile

TootsyBella84 · 06/04/2017 09:02

Hey all!
I'm gently popping my head in here after getting a BFP yesterday so it's still very early days.
We started trying for baby #3 last year, I got my bfp in June but sadly found out I'd had a mmc in August, I then went on to have another bfp in November but again another mmc in January which had to have a d&c that time.
So here I am again, no excitement at all, just anxious about what the next couple months are going to bring!
I look forward to getting to know you all x Flowers

purpleviolet1 · 06/04/2017 09:27

Hi Ineed Smile we are getting on much better thanks. Gave up the breastfeeding (he had 18days) and it was the right decision. It took a big rash / allergy reaction in me and the sickness bug which hit me hard for 48 hours to make me finally call it a day. I also think the antibiotics I take everyday (for splenectomy) were giving him a sore tummy and he seems more settled since being on just formula. The nights are still a bit of a hit and miss but last night he had his feed at 11 (fell straight back asleep), feed at 3 (was unsettled until 5.30) and then feed at 8 (straight back to sleep without finishing full feed!). Probably one of our best nights so far lol. He's 22 days today so still early days..

I defo recommend getting all the help you can for the first few weeks. Whether it's laundry, cooking your meals, feeding the baby whilst you catch up on sleep etc. It can be totally overwhelming if you feel exhausted and then don't eat properly etc becomes a vicious cycle. I'm lucky I've been staying at my mums and dh has been very hands on too.

NoCatsHere · 06/04/2017 09:41

Hey tootsy welcome. it's a super friendly place. I hope this one really is third time lucky for you, and you get some early scans for reassurance and so you don't have to go through a MMC so late.

purple well done you - sounds like your're getting into the motherhood swing of things. I'm glad he is happier on formula, an upset tummy for him sounds rubbish. And you are so right - take on all the help you can it does make all the difference.

I had a terrible dream last night i started bleeding. it was so real it took me a second when i woke up to realise it wasn't true. It was a nice relief to remember all is currently ok. I'm 7+2 today so ticking off the days nicely past when i miscarried last time. feels good to creep nearer 8 weeks! I'm going to see my mum this weekend, she lives 3 hours away from me, and i haven't told her yet - because of the miscarriage last time. If i book in a private scan do you get a photo? even if its a little blob? I feel i'd like to tale a picture to show them - prove its all real!

Hazandduck · 06/04/2017 13:27

Yes nocats I think they do give you a picture, they gave us a few last year (you're paying enough for it I suppose!) FX for your scan. Bless you having those nightmares, I've had the same. Horrible how deeply loss actually affects you isn't it. Wish I could wake up and not be this person who's had a miscarriage and just be old me, but it just becomes a part of you doesn't it. Xx

TootsyBella84 · 06/04/2017 14:23

Thank you NoCats I was told we would be offered an early scan at 7 weeks so I think I will contact EPU next week to try and get a date booked and give myself something to focus on! X

SayItIsntSo1 · 06/04/2017 16:16

Tootsy we got a pic from our early scan at EPU at 8 weeks. Looks like two bigger blobs (head and body) and two smaller blobs (the arms I think!). I cried a lot seeing those blobs after convincing myself there would be nothing there Smile

I hope they sort you with a scan.

Bec I hope your induction went ok and you're just off enjoying newborn snuggles.

Alb still rooting for you and baby Alb. Hope all is ok.

SayItIsntSo1 · 06/04/2017 16:18

I meant to no cats about the scan stuff! ^ Was too excited thinking back to our little blobby! Grin

TheLegendOfBeans · 06/04/2017 19:42

Cookie yes we aren't far from each other! And thanks to all of you for your lovely wishes.

Today I've been more tired than I've been yet. Its penetrating and making me feel like a bad parent to DD. Hoping the second trimester energy boost kicks in soon!

NoCatsHere · 06/04/2017 21:46

Have a small amount of brown discharge tonight. But it is very small and definitely brown not red so trying not to panic about it.

grainmum · 07/04/2017 07:49

No cats, hope things have settled for you. Hate it when your body decides to throw something at you to sow doubt and anxiety!

GingerHanna · 07/04/2017 07:52

I'm failing at adulting today. Woken up with the start of a migraine and of course cannot take any of my normal meds. (Sumatriptan). Had to come off my Tomapiatrat (sp?) before we started trying to conceive and guess I have been lucky not to have any up until now.

Think I will actually have to call in sick for the first time in a long time.

NoCatsHere · 07/04/2017 10:08

Thanks grain. Yes it was a bit of a curve ball but all seems better this morning, it has stopped I think so feeling calmer again.

TootsyBella84 · 07/04/2017 10:51

I've contacted my EPU and I have a scan booked for may 2nd, I will be 7+3. So nervous already x

TootsyBella84 · 07/04/2017 19:06

How common is brown spotting around the time af is due? Sad

grainmum · 08/04/2017 18:04

Hi Bella sorry you are having a worrying time. I think it's pretty common to have this might it be implantation? Take care and try to distract yourself or get checked out/take professional advice if you can't xx

TootsyBella84 · 08/04/2017 19:19

I'm not too sure grain I've never had it before. Had some brown spotting yesterday and today, it's only very light. 4 weeks today so af would have been due today, not sure if it's linked. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get heavier or turn red. This is all so stressful! X

MonkeyPoozzled76 · 08/04/2017 19:46

Hello ladies can I come and join you?

I'm 5 weeks pregnant after a MMC at 10.3wks last August. Miscarrige was very long, two erpc's, infections and query partial molar, although after three months I got the all clear on that.

I've had loads of symptoms round the time of implantation, nausea, dizzy, thirsty, but over the last few days everything has completely calmed down. I've noticed my underwired bras are pinching a bit, getting up at 4am to pee and I'm tired but that's it. I felt very different last time, I feel reasonibly normal which is sending my anxiety into overdrive. Tests look dark, I got 2-3wks on a clear blue last Sunday when I'd have been 4 weeks and I've got one left so will try and hold off till mid week for that and hopefully see 3+.

I've been reading back through the thread and I'm sorry for those of you having a hard time again but it's lovely to see all of the good scan news too.

SayItIsntSo1 · 08/04/2017 20:12

Tootsy I think the best advice I've ever seen on bleeding and brown/red discharge is that whilst it's common it should not be considered normal. If you're in doubt get some reassurance, although at only 4 weeks it will be difficult for anything to be conclusive. I hope it's nothing and buggers off for you.

Hi Monkey, I think I remember you from the TTC after MC threads? Glad you found us, lots of lovely supportive ladies on this thread.

I've had a lovely but exhausting day with DD in London today. Met my sister and best friend for a trip to the park, lunch and the Disney store! I was embarrassingly excited Blush, had to reign myself in and get her just the one thing (a Minnie Mouse soft toy) Grin!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

TootsyBella84 · 08/04/2017 21:14

I know if I was a few more weeks along I would be seeking advice but I know it's just too early for anything just now. I have a scan booked for 3 weeks anyway so at least I will have some answers then if I reach that far. Fingers crossed it buggers off x

PTphonehome · 08/04/2017 21:26

I've had another migraine today, they had almost stopped before pg and now I'm on at least one a week. On top of being already exhausted this is hard going. I forgot how mentally draining early pregnancy was.

Popcorn1979 · 08/04/2017 21:45

Tootsy- loads of us here have had a mix of spotting. I had brown spotting from weeks 5-7 then a proper red bleed at 8 weeks but am now 17 weeks and all looking healthy! I have had 3 mc and have 2 kids. With my 2 natural mc, I started off brown spotting but was red within a couple of hours (also had a mmc) and I had no spotting at all with my two healthy pregnancies so can def just be one of those things. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy - it is all just so stressful!

XxBecxX · 09/04/2017 02:57

Hello ladies sorry I've took so long to post, things didn't quite go as planned, they gave me steroid injections to make sure his lungs where good before the delivery to which my gestational diabetes went sky high, they admitted me into hozzy on the 28th and started coming out with all this scary stuff and so decided to induce me at 36+.
They tried everything but they couldn't really get me going properly and as he's baby no.6 they gave me 2 hours before calling it a day and giving me a section, luckily as I've given birth 5 times when I eventually got to 5cm with 20 minutes looming for the section I managed to somehow push him out whilst the MW was pushing back my cervix 😮
He was born at midnight on the 2nd of April and weighed 7lb 11oz, he had blood sugar complications due to my GD and had to have the note in scbu, my husband never left his side and paced up and down with him all nite through the 2 hourly feeds trying to get his BM's stable and luckily thank god I had him back at midday the next day!
They let me home after 8days on the 4th and my other kids had completely forgotten who I was lolol
He's doing well and I'm recovering slowly!!
He's called Tommy~James xxxxxx

Well done alb 4lb 4oz is a fabulous weight, I'm so happy for you that the baby is here and doing well xxxxx

Congrats on the 3 weeks mark purple!

It will be you soon new shoes!!!!!!

Good luck all the other girlies with your scans and appointments

To those of you feeling less than hopeful, try not to give up xxxxx
