@Hazandduck 4weeks 2 days, so it's so very early. That's a good mantra to have thought, I shall repeat that. How far along are you?

Hazandduck · 16/03/2017 15:05

My last period was the 4th of Feb so I think I'll be 6 weeks Saturday. I've known for over a week (had really sore boobs and just that general feeling you know) but put off testing as long as I could because I just am too scared to admit it's really happening again. Pregnancy is a terrifying rollercoaster.
Is this your first? We are TTC1, and have got pregnant every time we've tried which is crazy but I wonder if it's a curse rather than a blessing because I lost the last two. X

fuzzywuzzy · 16/03/2017 15:10

Ineed, i was recommended a serola support belt by my physio, for SPD.

It really helped that she then fitted me with it and adjusted the straps at the back according to where pain was.

I also really benefitted from physio altho pain isn't entirely gone she's taught me ways to manage the pin and also re-taught me how to walk which really has helped with the SPD.

Today however I am in agony as baby is rammed into my left hand side and I get sharp shooting pains everytime she moves!!!!!

TheLegendOfBeans · 16/03/2017 17:17

Welcome Haz (recognise your username as well!) - yep I have been saying "today I am pregnant" well, every day now. Usually in a mirror when making pistol fingers or wearing DD1 as a "hat" (she loves it....)

I will be saying it every flipping day until delivery. For real.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 16/03/2017 17:39

Oh crumbs Ineed, I don't think I would want to do that at any point without someone around never mind heavilg pregnant, I would totally get stuck! Haha.

Hope you manage to get something that helps, I don't know if you are into slings n things but apparently wrapping your bump can be helpful to relieve the strain, not so helpful if you don't have a wrap lying around to use though!

Hazandduck · 16/03/2017 17:47

Yes Legend I recognise your username! Thank you :) and congratulations on your BFP. I so badly want to enjoy this pregnancy and not just live in panic the whole time like I did before! How far along are you?
Last night felt so different and special when we watched the second line come up, it was our ten year anniversary yesterday so we waited to test until then. I really hope this is a positive omen!

Hazandduck · 16/03/2017 17:48

Ps is anyone else wearing a pad every day just in case? 🙈

INeedNewShoes · 16/03/2017 18:01

Thanks ImGonna - I've tied a big scarf around my hips for today on the advice of a friend. I'm going to try and speak to my midwife tomorrow and see if she has any advice.

theotherendofthesockportal · 16/03/2017 18:11

@Hazandduck this is my 2nd pregnancy, my first ended in a mmc in January. I am trying to visualise the end result.

I'm also trying to embrace any pregnancy symptoms, as long as they bring me a baby. Today's symptoms have included being ravenously hungry, but can't face the thought of cooking, sore boobs and my cheeks now seem too big for my mouth and I keep accident biting them. Also I have what seems to be a million spots on my face.

littlepooch · 16/03/2017 19:25

Welcome haz. I think I recognise you from the ttc thread?

I have been a bit quiet as been feeling a bit nervy as a couple of weeks have passed since my 12 week scan and the reassurance has worn off. I'm going to beg st my consultant appointment next week for them to listen to the heartbeat or give me a quick mini scan. I just need to know everything is ok. I really want a private scan but can't really afford one this month.

lightgreenglass · 16/03/2017 21:33

Today my grandmother who has fallen out with me made a dig about me only have boys to my DSis who she's still talking to. She said to my DSis that if she has a boy not to bring the boy up to see her as she only wants to see girls. I shed a few tears as my last pregnancy was a girl and she knew that, it's approaching my previous due date and I think it'll hit me harder than I thought. Sad

I love the mantra 'I'm pregnant today'. Going to book a reassurance scan for 8 weeks.

I cant face a booking appointment before a 12 week scan, has anyone done their booking appointment after their 12 week scan?

lightgreenglass · 16/03/2017 21:34

littlehooch have you considered a doppler, might help lessen the anxiety?

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 16/03/2017 22:25

Aww glass that's horrible, what a dreadful thing to say - even without knowing about the loss of your baby girl. I'd be tempted not to bother with her at all for a comment like that.
I'm not sure it's possible to have booking in after 12week scan? At my booking in the midwife worked out my dates and arranged that scan for me, maybe it's different in different areas though.

pooch the reassurrance from 12 week scan didn't last that long with me either, thankfully I started to feel movements at 17 weeks but now I'm worrying every day if I don't feel many even though I know they are not regular at this stage. Also worrying a lot about 20wk scan (which is Monday), thoroughly convinced they will find something wrong.

I know a couple of ladies here have had dopplers but the bit in my midwife book where it says they are not advised as they can give false reassurance about baby's wellbeing put me off somewhat.

Hazandduck · 17/03/2017 06:27

pooch yes I recognise you and a few names on this thread :) Congratulations on your scan, I'm sorry that the reassurance has worn off :( I think once you've known the dark side of pregnancy it doesn't ever stay worry free for long. Just keep looking at that scan pic :)
glass I think I may book an early one too! Just to put my mind at ease or help me get to the 12 week one. I am really reluctant to do the whole booking in thing again too it just raises your hopes more :( How old is your son? That's so cruel :(
imgonna good luck for your scan. Will you find out what you're having?

SayItIsntSo1 · 17/03/2017 07:09

Hi Haz think I missed saying hello to you joining.

Little I can relate to the reassurance wearing off. Even though mine was yesterday I am already wondering what I should do to keep sane until the 20 week one.

Does anyone wake with an almost churning gassy stomach in the night? I think it's digestion slowing down but I'm only noticing at night. Also had one sore burning boob last night and woke for and hour and a half at 4am for the second night in a row Hmm

Having a mummy and dd day today. Going to potter around the shops and have lunch in town. Then going to my folks in the morning.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 17/03/2017 07:12

Thanks duck, Nah we're going to go for a suprise again. DD is certain she is having a sister though. I'd like another girl as I'd like two the same but not really bothered.

oliversmummy26 · 17/03/2017 10:28

Pooch I can sympathise with the reassurance of the 12 week scan wearing off. I bought a doppler a week or so ago and it's definitely helped to make me feel better. I've been really strict with myself and only using it every few days, and if I can't find the heartbeat I'm not allowed to panic! I think I've managed to find it though each time, but am only going to use it until I have regular movements and can count kicks effectively.

Say I'm terribly gassy at the moment and have also woken up at 4am for the last two nights and taken forever to get back to sleep!

I can feel what I guess is my uterus/baby on my left side usually too, like it's slipped over while I've been sleeping on my left, like a really hard ball in my tummy. Then when I go over onto my back for a bit it centres itself again, very strange feeling!

Still getting flutters sometimes, but also strange feelings like my insides are turning themselves around, no idea if that's baby or gas! I'm 14+5 today

Cookiemonster19 · 17/03/2017 12:55

Hi Haz! Welcome to the thread

I have my scan at 3:30 today, feel so nervous, praying there's a healthy baby in there. Bricking it!!

13+3 right now according to midwife but scan should measure more accurately.

SayItIsntSo1 · 17/03/2017 13:59

Good luck Cookie! Hope it all goes ok.

Hazandduck · 17/03/2017 14:11

Thank you for the warm welcomes!
Ah best of luck Cookie x

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 17/03/2017 14:21

Good luck cookie!

NoCatsHere · 17/03/2017 16:27

Hello,

Would it be ok if I join, I've been trying to read back, so I know that duck and sock you are early days like me too!

I'm on a november DD thread, but feel I need more support here, and also don't want to scare those that haven't had a MC.
I MC naturally 7th feb and bleed for 1 week, the hospital made me do a pregnancy test on feb 15th and it came up neg. Then i thought I'd just wait for my period to arrive but we dtd randomly maybe a week later. Anyway I tested positive on 13th march. So i guess I have a rough idea that I am around 5 weeks - maybe less? I'm so surprised but also crazy happy too! Has anyone else fallen pregnant before 1st af? It's frustrating not being able to know exactly where I'm at, but trying to not panic, and not worry that time is dragging so much!

Cookiemonster19 · 17/03/2017 17:05

Just got back from the scan! Baby measured 9 weeks and 4 days, due date is now 16th October!! So relieved to have that over and done with and see my little squish!!

X

SayItIsntSo1 · 17/03/2017 19:17

Great news Cookie! Do you have irregular cycles? Sounds like the midwife was quite off with your dates? Glad you've been reassured and not long to wait until your 12wk scan.

Hi Nocats, not sure if there are any ladies her that conceived again without AF after MC? It took us 6/7 months. You might get an early scan if you've not had AF as I think they like to check dates.

theotherendofthesockportal · 17/03/2017 19:39

Hi @NoCatsHere we can look after each other here.

I've noticed my sense of smell has gone insane, this happened to me last time too. I had new carpets laid last October and I can now smell the new carpet smell even though they have been down for nearly 6 months 🤢🤢🤢
