I will start by saying I know I am extremely lucky be expecting a healthy (so far as can be told) baby and I wouldn't swap it for the world. That said - bloody hell. I'm 39 weeks today, I have an arse under my ribcage so I can't breathe, a head trying to drill out of my pelvis, shocking heartburn, and with a leg still in a boot from being broken there is no comfortable position in the world. I'm shattered and weepy and want this baby out now please! Anyone else?

Good luck Lottie!!!!! So we had our baby boy born at 1.49am yesterday early hours. Feels so surreal but lovely!! I was absolutely exhausted yesterday and sore but feeling better today.

NameChange30 · 16/03/2017 10:14

Congratulations purple! Surreal, lovely, exhausted and sore all sound familiar! Enjoy your newborn and take care of yourself too Flowers

MygirlKeith · 16/03/2017 11:28

Good luck Lottie and massive congratulations to Purple!

drinkyourmilk · 16/03/2017 13:08

Congratulations purple on the birth of your son. Hope the recovery goes smoothly and you are discharged soon.
do you mind me asking his weight and if his sugars were OK after birth? I've gd and facing induction on Sunday.

purpleviolet1 · 16/03/2017 21:04

Ofcourse! He was 8lb 3oz, born at 37+4 (just - 1.49am). His sugars tested ok but he has been a little jittery at times so they encourage regular feeding. I'm trying to breastfeed and sometimes he manages ok but other times gets very distressed. Apparently all quite normal as they can forget.

drinkyourmilk · 16/03/2017 21:36

Thanks purple That's a perfect weight! Glad to see that the sugars aren't always an issue.
Congratulations again Flowers

LottieL · 17/03/2017 01:55

Our little girl was born at 11:15 weighing a very healthy 9lbs 2ozs. She is stunning, has not been off the boob since she arrived and is generally just wonderful. Dilated all the way to 6cm without pain relief as I don't think anyone believed it was as bad as I was saying it was. Had an epidural which didn't work, and after a good long time pushjng was rushed for an emergency c section as she was getting distressed.
All around amazing and totally worth it all - she's beautiful beyond words!

LottieL · 17/03/2017 01:56

Born on the 16th March, I hasten to add 🙂

LozzaRoseMumOf3tobe · 17/03/2017 04:16

Congratulations everyone so far! I am so jealous! 39+6 today ☹️, still no signs of anything and I'm now not seeing my community midwife again! Re GD, I see the diabetic nurses in the clinic every 2 weeks but my blood sugar levels have been controlled through diet & metformin so they aren't concerned with that, babies weight is still in/over 95th percentile but my midwife still can't get me in clinic any sooner than 22nd march (40+4). It's my trusts policy re GD not to go over 40+6, so God knows what's going to happen as I really want a VBAC but it's so hard waiting until Weds for some answers! X

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2017 06:00

Congrats @lottie and @purple

Both fantastic weights - glad all is going well :)

38w yesterday so 13days or less to go as will induce me

Been bouncing on ball. Making no difference

obsessed1 · 17/03/2017 06:49

Hope you don't mind me joining at this late stage. Huge congratulations to Lottie and Purple! How exciting!
I'm 41 weeks today and have been having on/off contractions since Tuesday. Getting really fed up now. Midwife examined me Weds and said I was fully effaced and 2cm dilated, at which I was terrified but thrilled, but here I am still waiting. Anyone else in a similar boat? I just want to meet our little girl now!!

MrPoppersPenguins · 17/03/2017 07:24

So pleased for Lottie and purple!

Obsessed I am also 41 weeks today Confused have had strong BH mon/tue/wed then they stopped yesterday!!! I'm going for a walk after school run today! Sweep at MW this pm. Wish things would get moving.

obsessed1 · 17/03/2017 07:27

Ooh popper, nice to know we're in similar boat. I too was thinking a good long walk might be just the thing!! Fingers crossed it does the trick. Let me know how you get on at MW. I'm thinking of going to hospital today to get checked and see if I've made any progress, and to make sure baby is fine.

NameChange30 · 17/03/2017 08:33

For those of you wanting to help things along, I recommend sex. Not easy when heavily pregnant but definitely worth a try! It releases the hormones needed for labour - the female orgasm releases oxytocin and sperm contains prostaglandin.

I had a sweep at 41 weeks which was unpleasant and did nothing, acupuncture at 41+2 which was relaxing but not sure if it did anything, then had sex with DH at 41+3 and went into labour just a couple of hours later. Go figure!

NameChange30 · 17/03/2017 08:38

Ha ha just re-read my post and it's amused me that I specified "sex with DH" as if it would have been with anyone else 😂

obsessed1 · 17/03/2017 10:53

Thanks for the advice namechange, will maybe give that a try (though it's actually the furthest thing from my mind right now!!). Lol, your comment about husband tickled me!!!

MrPoppersPenguins · 17/03/2017 11:33

Ha ha name change my DH has been suggesting this Blush I think that's what I might try if today's sweep isn't successful. Tried all this with first pregnancy and it didn't work but who knows this time?!

herewegoagain4749 · 17/03/2017 12:52

Ditto but only 33+5. Had a bump since 5 mins after the positive test, and am like the back end of a bus now! Get funny looks when I tell people I'm not due till end of April.

Had HG from week 5 to 19, then the exhaustion set in, and along with the pelvis pain, anaemia, headaches and reflux, that's been the worst thing. Off work now and trying to rest but never feel very rested no matter what I do. Plus got. 3yo to look after, dog to walk and worries about birth (had big haemorrhage last time!).

God knows how I'll cope with all this for another 5 weeks!! I really dislike pregnancy, what a slog.

MrPoppersPenguins · 19/03/2017 14:54

Well the sweep didn't work but I did have a show yesterday. DTD last night as actually was recommended by MW! Still nothing happening. Grrrrrrrrrr. Grumpy as hell now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2017 16:50

Think having bh or possible contractions last night but eases off today

Like v strong period pains and deep tugging down below

May sound stupid but how do you know you are in labour if waters havnt broken and given you a clue

Seeing consultant tom 38.4

ILikeSalmon · 19/03/2017 17:28

Ooh good luck to you all
I'm 39+4 and might be the only person to say I want to be overdue!
I still have some unfinished jobs around the house and also my OH works 100 miles away so it would help if the baby went overdue and I get induced :)

Theknittinggorilla · 19/03/2017 18:01

Can I join in? I have officially hit the wall this week. 35+1 so still have an age to go (though will be 39 week section so at least know I won't go over).

My 4 and 2 year olds seem to have acquired even more energy to compensate for my lack of, and are running me ragged. To top it off my 2 year old woke in the night last night for the first time in months and was wide awake from 2am to 4.30am and I am officially broken today. My lovely Dh has taken them out for a walk so I have half an hour of peace but can't get comfy in any position due to constant braxton hicks, aaagh!

Sorry that was a big moan but feel like the slog to the end has really started now. Haven't read the full thread so will catch up now, hello everyone!

RedCrab · 19/03/2017 18:18

Oh knittinggorilla I have the same age children and they are KILLING ME. I can't take it anymore. 38+2. Everyone has started asking me already what I'm trying to do to induce labour and it's getting on my nerves because I'm not even due for a week and a bit Angry

Theknittinggorilla · 19/03/2017 18:27

redcrab it's just utterly exhausting isn't it? And that must be so annoying - were your others early?

It's not the kids fault I feel so crap and they just don't understand it but I'm getting more and more irritable with them. It's the constant asking for something so I never sit down for more than about a minute (and getting up is not easy!) and my 2 year old suddenly wants me to carry him all the time. They are much better when they have been out running around but of course I can't run round after them. I can't believe I've got another 4 weeks to go....

The only thing keeping me sane is that last time despite new baby and c section and sleepless nights, I still felt soooo much better after baby arrived than i did in that last month of pregnancy. So have just got to survive the next 30 days.

LozzaRoseMumOf3tobe · 19/03/2017 18:30

I'm 40+1 now and I'm done! So ready for this baby to come out! Plus I'm getting sick of the texts asking if the baby has come yet or if there are any signs!! NO!!!
