I will start by saying I know I am extremely lucky be expecting a healthy (so far as can be told) baby and I wouldn't swap it for the world. That said - bloody hell. I'm 39 weeks today, I have an arse under my ribcage so I can't breathe, a head trying to drill out of my pelvis, shocking heartburn, and with a leg still in a boot from being broken there is no comfortable position in the world. I'm shattered and weepy and want this baby out now please! Anyone else?

Just got the date for my planned section - 2 weeks today Grin that makes me feel a little more in control....

drinkyourmilk · 10/03/2017 13:42

I had cramps all yesterday, with some loss of music plug. Couldn't stop going to the loo either! Today- nothing but fanny daggers.
I only 36+6, but so ready to give birth.
planned induction for 38+1, so not long to go really.

LottieL · 10/03/2017 15:23

Drink - I hope the cramps ease off, though I did have a little giggle at the idea of a music plug :P If you don't mind me asking, why are you being induced at 38 weeks?

Purple - I'm really pleased you've got your date, that must be a relief! :) And yes, this is our first so all very new. Everything has settled down today, it's as though nothing has been happening for the last week.

drinkyourmilk · 10/03/2017 17:20

I even proof read my post! Music plug Grin
I have gestational diabetes, so it's policy in my trust to induce at 38 weeks.

mlr1uk · 10/03/2017 17:45

Can I join in please!! I'm 39 weeks today and have the worst backache ever. Could this be a sign? Not period type pain though..

I'm also getting what I assume is braxton hicks most evenings.

Sleeping is ok but getting really bad leg pain all night which is driving me insane!

I really hope baby comes soon!!!!

purpleviolet1 · 10/03/2017 18:05

Hahaha music plug!!! I also have Gestational diabetes , would've been induced for a natural delivery at 38 weeks but because baby is breech they will do c section at 39 weeks. Apparently the mucus on the lungs is cleared during a natural delivery as the baby is squeezed through the birth canal but with c sections it's obviously not so they like to leave it to 39 weeks to give the lungs the best chance.

2 weeks countdown is on but it's still a long time really. At least I have a goal for tidying/ clearing the house out.

Not much happening today pain wise. My mum came over so the day passed nicely.

LozzaRoseMumOf3tobe · 10/03/2017 20:31

I'm so jealous! I have GD and I'm 38+6, I'm wanting a vbac and had a successful ECV to turn the baby last week but my consultant is just leaving me now, next appointment I'll be 40+4 🙄

purpleviolet1 · 10/03/2017 21:32

Oh I though it was policy to induce with GD as baby can be big! I guess you aren't measuring big maybe? Hope it happens quickly for you!! What was your ecv experience like? Painful?

purpleviolet1 · 10/03/2017 22:11

Is it just me or has anyone got really sweaty smelly feet?? I'm washing them and letting them air by being barefoot but still Envy

drinkyourmilk · 10/03/2017 23:43

GD can potentially result with a bigger or smaller than average baby. Mine was on the 10 centile last scan (week ago). The reason they induce is a rise in the risk of placental failure my consultant was telling me. I know they've been checking my placenta and cord flow each scan.
Like everything though I think the rise in risk is very small, and everyone is obviously different. No consultant will take unnecessary risks.

purpleviolet1 · 11/03/2017 00:09

Ah that's interesting!

NameChange30 · 11/03/2017 04:25

Hi everyone, I had my baby!!! Grin
I called the hospital shortly after posting on this thread, and they advised me to go in, which was just as well because it was pretty quick in the end! He was born at 10.36am weighing 9lb4, obviously he grew nice and big during his extra time in there! He is perfect and I'm sore but happy 😍

Hope you all have your babies very soon and everything goes smoothly!

Mouse510 · 11/03/2017 08:20

Congratulations Namechange Flowers

I'm very jealous! Tried using the breast pump yesterday to get things going but apart from a couple of wee niggles, nothing.

The waiting continues....

purpleviolet1 · 11/03/2017 08:27

Congratulations namechange!!!! Grin if you would like to , we would love to see a pic!!

Mouse - hahaha!

drinkyourmilk · 11/03/2017 08:41

Congratulations namechange! Fantastic news Cake. What a good healthy weight! Enjoy your lovely newborn snuggles.

MygirlKeith · 11/03/2017 09:17

Congratulations! What a great size he is, would love to see a picture should you want to share x

MrPoppersPenguins · 11/03/2017 09:28

Congratulations namechange that's lovely news!!

Now come on other babies!!!

LottieL · 11/03/2017 10:41

Wow congratulations NameChange! Really pleased for you 🙂

Let's hope this is a sign of good things to come for all the ladies on this thread waiting desperately for the arrival of their little ones too! 😄

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/03/2017 11:46

WOW congrats 9/4 gulps 💙👶🏼💙👶🏼💙

purpleviolet1 · 11/03/2017 12:29

Sometimes it just takes one to kickstart lots of announcements Grin

Got the pain/ ache again , low down at the front and radiating up my back. So very annoying as it's too sore to ignore. Didn't really have it much at all yesterday, just a few random episodes. Nothing like the day before where I had it all day.

NameChange30 · 12/03/2017 09:14

Thank you very much everyone! Smile
I'd prefer not to share a photo on here, feels a bit weird - sorry about that!
Please take my word for it that he is very very cute and I'm not biased at all oh no

Hope you all get to meet your babies soon and have safe, smooth births. Hang on in there!

LottieL · 12/03/2017 09:39

How is everyone feeling? Anything happening?
Yesterday seemed hopeful! Cramps on and off, very bad lower back pain and I was getting quite fore tightenings before bedtime. I was up through the night with random pains, felt very much like things were getting going but managed to sleep once they eased off - only to wake up this morning feeling fine again.
I think this little one is teasing me now, I'm getting the impression that she's far too comfortable!

purpleviolet1 · 12/03/2017 10:08

That's absolutely fine namachange! As long as you are both ok.

Oh Lottie hopefully they will just ramp up!! When is your next appt?

MrPoppersPenguins · 12/03/2017 10:41

The only time I'm comfortable is lying on my side! Still nothing happening here apart from lots of people asking me if anything is happening!!

To distract me... what's the baby buy you're most excited to use when the little one arrives? I have a son so didn't need to buy much but treated myself to a new sling Grin

LottieL · 12/03/2017 11:12

This coming Thursday Purple! Hoping I go before then, fingers crossed 🙂 How are you feeling? Pains still ongoing for you?

MrPoppers, my husband has beeen practicing using the sling with a bunny rabbit soft toy, that he was also practiced putting nappies on. You've never seen anything as mental as a hairy, bare chested tattooed chap maenovering a floppy bunny toy (complete with pink knitted baby bonnet and nappy) into a sling like the most delicate and precious thing in the world 😂

I am most excited to see my baby girl in her Moses basket, a bit boring maybe but it has been set up in our bedroom for ages now and just looks so empty! I can't wait to lie her down in it for the first time 🙂
