I will start by saying I know I am extremely lucky be expecting a healthy (so far as can be told) baby and I wouldn't swap it for the world. That said - bloody hell. I'm 39 weeks today, I have an arse under my ribcage so I can't breathe, a head trying to drill out of my pelvis, shocking heartburn, and with a leg still in a boot from being broken there is no comfortable position in the world. I'm shattered and weepy and want this baby out now please! Anyone else?

That's interesting - thank you! I think I would seriously consider ELCS over induction if my Bishop's score was low.
I recognise you from the March thread and had been wondering how you were getting on. Hope you don't have too much longer to wait either!

Letsgetreadytorumbleagain · 06/03/2017 13:38

NameChange I've had a couple sweep attempts and they didn't hurt - just uncomfortable. Nothing has happened though Hmm

I've declined an induction so will be having a c section if this baby doesn't come soon. I am attempting a VBAC anyway so I could end up with a section at any rate

NameChange30 · 06/03/2017 15:27

Letsget
Thanks. Just had my sweep and I found it painful and unpleasant Sad The midwife was very good about it all, said she would stop as soon as I asked her to (which I did eventually after braving it for possibly a bit too long!) Apparently my cervix is 1cm dilated and a bit shorter, so getting there, but not exactly ready to go.
Fingers crossed for both of us!

purpleviolet1 · 06/03/2017 18:57

So I've been booked in for a c section at 39 weeks because the baby is still
Breech. Unlikely to rotate now as fluid is a little low and baby measuring big. C section carries extra risks for me because of previous abdominal surgery - risk of injury to neighbouring organs, and infection ( I don't have a spleen and take two types of antibiotics to prevent infection as I've had resistant infections / sepsis in the past). If I went into labour naturally they would do an emergency c section. If by some miracle it turned , then they would try natural. My worry is the more time passes the bigger it gets and how will I manage with a natural labour?? They've already said there is a slight higher chance of if it resulting in emergency c section anyway. Trying not to think about it all, just pray that either I get to 39 weeks and go in for planned section or that baby turns quickly and I have a natural labour ASAP.

Sorry for the woe me post! Reading all your updates and sorry to hear the sweep was painful. Hat off to those further ahead!

I posted a reply and it got lost, MN froze and I nearly lost my shit (after the 24 hours I've had!!) but it seems to be back now thank God!
Anyway I wanted to suggest that you Google Spinning Babies as they have some practical advice on getting baby in the right position. You could also see an osteopath with experience in treating women (my osteo says he can help with breech babies). Might not work but might be worth a try!

NameChange30 · 06/03/2017 19:46

experience in treating pregnant women (I'm guessing all of them treat women Grin)

purpleviolet1 · 06/03/2017 20:05

Thanks ! I'll google now

LottieL · 08/03/2017 11:27

Still hanging on! 39+5 and I've had days of constant cramps and infrequent contractions that go no where... Until this morning, when I've lost my mucous plug and had a bloody show. I'm still bleeding a little bit of brown blood on and off. Not sure whether that means things are ramping up but I'm hopeful!

MrPoppersPenguins · 08/03/2017 11:44

Wow Lottie you might end up with an illusive due date baby!! I've only had the odd random ache in the night which wakes me up but only once a night. No other signs here Angry

LottieL · 08/03/2017 11:52

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you MrPoppers! Let's hope we both go on time and each make our due dates! :)
I'm half convinced that my little one is star fishing in there, refusing my body's many attempts to evict her. My willpower is iron however, I will win!!

NameChange30 · 08/03/2017 12:25

Good luck Lottie!
41+2 here and still nothing to report Sad

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 08/03/2017 12:52

33+4, been having contractions for 15 days, hospital unconcerned but I am exhausted. 3 others to look after and 2 separate school runs on crutches because of SPD. Well and truly had enough. NEVER AGAIN!!!

purpleviolet1 · 08/03/2017 15:48

Cheering you on Lottie!!

This is number 1 for me so ignore my ignorance. I'm getting a lot of period type aches like I am about to come on , really low down. It comes and goes but when it starts it feels like I need to take painkillers. It woke me up during the night too. Is this the very beginning of the cervix softening/ dilation?

36+5. Booked in for c section at 39 weeks as baby is breech....

LottieL · 08/03/2017 17:09

Thank you Purple! It's my first too so I could be giving duff advice but those are the types of pain I have been getting the last week or so, in the lead up to the hospital saying I was dilated to 2cm, so my guess is that your body is working, yes! Might be worth having a chat with midwife though as your little one is breech.

NameChange30 · 08/03/2017 17:16

Waitrose Poor you Sad Any chance of enlisting help with the school runs?

purple It's my first too but everyone I've spoken to said that the first contractions feel a bit like period cramps. I guess it's your uterus limbering up for the real thing. I've only been getting very occasional cramps but my cervix was 1cm dilated on Monday. So if you're getting a lot of cramps you could be further along maybe?

RedCrab · 08/03/2017 18:39

37 weeks today. Major Braxton Hicks all day. Now draped over my yoga ball and got full on period cramps in the front and my back. So hard not to get your hopes up!

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 08/03/2017 19:40

It's a bit tricky because my Dad who is usually a massive help is in Scotland (6 hours away!) looking after my Gran! Hopefully he will be back in a week or so. They did a scan and said Baby is a good weight and ready to go but they also did a test that said it wouldn't be in the next 7 days...that was last Wednesday so I guess that starts again today!
I really pray for a 37 weeker but all of the others have been late!

NameChange30 · 09/03/2017 10:55

How is everyone? I had been managing to stay reasonably positive but have now come down with a nasty cold and feeling very sorry for myself Sad At 41+3 and counting it's the last thing I need!!

LottieL · 09/03/2017 11:13

Bless you NameChange 😞 Keep warm and drink plenty of fluids, rest loads. I am sending sympathy!
I'm still very much pregnant, no regular contractions yet. Booooo 😓
Was hoping to go overnight but no luck!

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 11:16

Aw sorry to hear that name change Sad it definitely is quite uncomfortable the further along you get Sad

Thanks for the advice. I can't decide whether the achey period pain I'm having is bad enough to phone triage so will keep an eye today. It's been pretty constant since 9am though, although it peaks and troughs. I'm quite sensitive to period pains as I always suffered from them in my teenage years. Only concern is because baby is breech and I'm having a c section (waiting for the date but around the 24th).

Only 36+6 and it's our first.

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 11:25

I suppose the question is how far the labour has to be before they would do the c section ? I've not had any bleeding / mucus show but have had a lot of discharge. Got a little backache which comes and goes. Just feel a bit flat generally. My fluid levels on last scan are already a bit low , not sure if they have been leaking or if it's because I have gestational diabetes so I might not realise if they continue to leak.

LottieL · 09/03/2017 11:44

I think if I were you Purple I'd ring midwife / delivery suite and ask them what they think. It might be nothing but with the baby being breech it might be worth just making sure they are happy for things to continue, especially as it sounds like you are suffering the exact same things as I have in early labour. Worth being sure I reckon 🙂

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 11:50

Thanks Lottie

LottieL · 09/03/2017 12:17

If you decide to call them let us know how you get on 🙂

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 12:32

I feel brand new now lol 😂 last hour been a good one. Just feel tired but not sore at all. Will keep you posted.
