I wanted to eat bath sponges and couldn't stop sniffing them!!! 😂

MongerTruffle · 26/02/2017 20:12

I could not stop thinking about Greggs Egg Custart Tarts. They were the only thing I would eat, which wasn't helpful after 4pm on a Sunday.

HeyMicky · 26/02/2017 20:13

Shit supermarket sushi. Not the good stuff, only gluggy rice and insipid flavours. Highly likely to give me food poisoning.

rachyconks · 26/02/2017 20:14

Not that weird, but I ate a lot of ice when pregnant with DS. To the point that my husband was suggesting I get help. Went through a big bag a day! I had favourite types and shapes of cubes too 😂

Gingerbreadmam · 26/02/2017 20:14

last pregnancy lemons. eating full lemons.

this one - anything bad and full of sugar. angel delight. cake. custard. iced buns. ice cream. quite partial to cheese as well which is new for me as im not usually good with dairy stuff.

MongerTruffle · 26/02/2017 20:39

I also used to live in Norway for a while (not whilst I was pregnant) and I suddenly started craving rosinboller (see picture). I forced DH to look up a recipe and bake them for me.

I'm on the ice now, that started about 32 weeks, but only going through a bag a week at home - plus what I eat out / at work.

Laura2507 · 26/02/2017 20:47

Currently on pickled onion monster munch.

HotDawg123 · 26/02/2017 22:08

Brussels sprouts with DC1
Jelly Babies DC2
Tomato soup DC3

MissElizaBennett · 26/02/2017 22:11

Cabbage, cabbage and more cabbage. It got to the point where I was sneaking down to have midnight feasts of the stuff... Blush

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 26/02/2017 22:15

pickled beetroot and the vinegar. ...all three pregnancies and I still adore it, but I don't drink the vinegar anymore.

and a one day only thing Pineapple cottage cheese...I made dh turn off the dual carriage way into Asda to buy some and could BARELY wait until the checkout to get it open to eat it.

acornsandnuts · 26/02/2017 22:16

Cementing rubble. I drooled over skips from house renovations. My DH bought me a bag of the powdered stuff so I could mix it up in the shed only on the promise that I wouldn't eat it. I settled for smelling and crumbling it through my fingers.

It honestly made me so happy at the time and couldn't understand all the raised eyebrows.

MrsMozart · 26/02/2017 22:19

7up.
Lemonade ice lollies.

drinkyourmilk · 26/02/2017 22:23

I had a thing for mashed potato and bistro gravy in my first trimester- even having it at work for breakfast.
Then nausea kicked in and the only that would settle it was chicken nuggets meal from McDonald's. Disgusting!

Ookmybanana · 26/02/2017 22:30

It's currently Raw beef mince or ice lollies for me. One I have eaten the other I have just sniffed to try and satisfy that need.

TeenageCentaurMortificado · 26/02/2017 22:30

Red wine! Before I was pregnant I bloody hated the stuff. So at about 15 weeks it was literally all I could think about! Never mind the fact that I couldn't think about never mind tolerate any other alcohol type thing. I thought, hey I can still join in with my mates and drink no alcohol lager .... no I couldn't I would vomit up a weeks worth of stuff at the mere sniff of it.

So on hols at about 18 weeks I caved. I had the smallest red wine in a glass filled with ice. And had it once a week throughout. I'm guessing it was the iron I was needing but hell couldnt it have been an iron rich vegetable or something? Grin

11 years on im still a red wino 😄

Lyn29 · 26/02/2017 22:35

I used to have a big plate of roast potatoes for dinner and a bowl of coco pops before bed!!

lananzack · 26/02/2017 22:39

Dry wall, dry brick, sand... Anything musty, dry and crumbly. It's happened towards the end of both of my pregnancies and it's a bloody nightmare because the craving is SO strong.
When pregnant with my first I cried in frustration a few times when her room was being stripped and decorated - because I could smell the cementy smell of the walls! I just wanted to bash at it and eat it.
Thank fuck it went away right after I had her, hoping it goes away the moment I have this little guy, too!!

MrsBungle · 26/02/2017 22:42

gingerbreadmam me too! I've not heard of anyone else eating lemons. Thought I was the freak who did that Grin

Whyarealltheusernamestaken · 26/02/2017 23:06

I really want to eat the dried mealworm I feed the garden birds but have stopped myself! I'm not sure why but they suddenly smell delicious...

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 26/02/2017 23:13

My strangest craving was Surf washing up powder! Id smell it, run it through my fingers, put in on the floor & rub my feet on it Hmm I'd have eaten it if I could have.

I still love it now.

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 26/02/2017 23:14

So I totally get the cement thing. I wonder what causes it???

dalmatianmad · 26/02/2017 23:14

With ds I couldn't stop sniffing swede, I carried pieces round with me and constantly sniffed it Grin

With dd I drank gallons of Strawberry crusha with ice cold milk....

Chinnygirl · 26/02/2017 23:16

Fish, fish and more fish. DP thought the baby would grow fins.(had a miscarriage so couldn't check the outcome Grin)

Werkzallhourz · 26/02/2017 23:21

Dry wall, dry brick, sand... Anything musty, dry and crumbly.

Isn't this a sign of calcium deficiency in pregnancy? I think it's a quite well known phenomenon in South East Asia.
