Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Blondes the glamour of pregnancy 😂

Custard shouldn't have shortened too much between 16 and 18 weeks so anything above 30mm is fine, between 25 and 30mm likely to be monitored, under 25mm and they will probably discuss intervention. Good luck tomorrow.

I'm having my cervix measured and stitch checked on Thursday at the Pre-Term Clinic. Also waiting for results of swabs/urine tests as I'm susceptible to infection with the stitch as it's a 'foreign object' in the body. I'm on prophylactic antibiotics so hopefully all ok.

Thanks for the chart Blondes had a quick check for your previous post but can't find it, I will try again in the morning when I'm a bit more awake

Thanks Blue, good luck for Thursday

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 01/03/2017 07:47

Good luck tomorrow Blue.

Your cervix sounds completely normal Custard, don't worry (as if any if us can stop!). Great chart Blondes.

Anyone giving anything up for Lent? DH reckons I should give up alcohol and rare steak (he thinks he's hilarious), I'm going for chocolate and swearing though. I'm on my way to Mass in Westminster Cathedral, I'll light a candle for all of us and pray for healthy pregnancies and babies!

Grumpelstiltskin · 01/03/2017 08:46

Congrats zenzie what lovely news! Glad you had a good birth too.

Sorry to hear you're suffering all the delights of late pregnancy blondes but not long now till you meet her.

Good luck for your next check up, blueroses, hopefully all is progressing well.

All is well here with the small grumpette, have been getting to grips with feeding and generally her needs. Tiring but wonderful. Keep staring at her and reminding myself she was once a frozen 4bb blast and it blows my tiny MIND.

Looking forward to hearing about more new arrivals soon, and love to those plugging through the earlier stages. Flowers

Custard, good luck for your scan today. I wish my cervix was as long as yours, mine was only 31mm at 16 weeks...
Blue, I love the idea of the baby show, thanks for mentioning it. DH and I may try and go along. We're house hunting at the moment though so depends on viewings. One of my friends did a nursery tour thing with John Lewis (I'm pretty sure it was John Lewis) which sounded good. I hope your scan tomorrow goes well.
Blondes, not long at all to go for you now! Thank you for your post before re cervical length and posting the chart above, its interesting how they vary up and down.
MPP, it must have been so frustrating making those diet changes and not seeing any results, glad the insulin is working though, hope you are doing ok.
Lucie, aqua aerobics sounds great! I went to a prenatal pilates class at the weekend for the first time and really enjoyed it. Everyone else seemed much further along that me though, I was the only one without a noticeable bump.
Genghis, great news that the morning sickness has gone.
Hedgehog, I know that feeling re house hunting. I feel like I know every house on the market in the area we want to move to...nothing really suitable though.
Sounds amazing Grumpel!
I spoke to the hospital on Monday re being worried about my cervix length, spoke to a really nice midwife who assured me that it was perfectly fine. She spoke to one of the consultants and phoned me back and said it was definitely fine and that I should wait until my 20 week scan (which is at 21+3) and if its below 25mm then they will monitor... I think for peace of mind I will book another scan for 18 weeks though.

friends123 · 01/03/2017 12:56

Glad everything is going well with baby grumps!

Good luck today custard!

Blondes, glad all was well with baby blondes. It's so scary when you can't feel them for a while.I don't feel many kicks anymore, they've changed to more of a subtle roll type feeling. Although they happen more I worry because they change so much. I get hooked up to the monitor every other week so that at least gives me some reassurance. I think I will go for a 4d scan at 32 weeks to check weight etc.

Good luck tomorrow also Blue. Hope all goes well. Have you made any plans to go back to work or are you just gonna go straight on maternity leave?

Afm, no appointment for me this week, really wish I could just go every week because I also seem to have melt down If I don't have one for two weeks.

How you getting on MPP? Have they given you a date for baby mpp's arrival?

On Saturday we went shopping for furniture and a pram. It felt amazing to be walking around such shops! We purchased our pram but had to compromise on the colour because like MPP said, a lot was between 9-12 weeks from Mamas & Papas. However all the prams at Mothercare came with a 10 day delivery so not too bad.

Big waves to everyone else. Hope everyone is hanging in there with all the craziness. Xx

Screamifuwant2gofaster · 01/03/2017 17:08

Hello! Can I join please? I've had ivf- found out today I'm pregnant!!! Can't believe it. We've been trying to become parents for 8 years. Feeling very nervous/ excited/ in shock. I've just read the whole thread and learnt lots. :-).

Smurfy1981 · 01/03/2017 18:35

Hi folks- sorry ive not been on for a while!!!
BUT finally on 16.2.17 our gorgeous little boy fergus lawrie foster decided to make an appearance via emergency c section 12 days late!!! 7lb 9.5oz. He is an absolute wee dot and very content wee boy xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2017 18:37

Awwwww congrats @smurfy

Welcome @scream. Took me 10yrs ttc and tbh didn't believe I was preg for a long time and sadly worries about everything tho almost 36w and all good

Blueroses99 · 01/03/2017 19:18

Congratulations Smurfy, lovely to hear your news! Hope the EMCS wasn't too traumatic, come back and share if you're up to it. Flowers

Welcome Scream. It does take a while to get used to!

Friends lovely to be able to indulge in some shopping! I'm enjoying my time off so much I'm not sure I'll want to go back. I don't want to make any decisions now, but I'm unlikely to want to go back before I reach 24 weeks (viability) just in case.

Trixie totally understand wanting to be measured regularly for peace of mind, even though your cervix is fine now, it can change but hopefully you will be fine.

Grumps so glad to hear all is well. Enjoy the cuddles!

I'll check back in after my appointment tomorrow.

Hedgehog wish I had the will power to give up chocolate! I might steal your idea about swearing though seen as bubs should be able to hear now that might be a good idea

Glad to hear you're doing well Grumple

Trixie glad your midwife took your concerns seriously sounds like they don't think there is any reason to worry though, the reason I booked another scan for 18 weeks was for my own peace of mind so totally understand if you want to do the same

Friends lovely that you've been able to do some shopping

Welcome and congratulations Scream

Smurfy hope you're feeling ok and enjoy the baby cuddles

Blue hope everything goes ok tomorrow

My cervix measured 35.8mm today at 18 weeks (was 36.9mm at 16 weeks) which I think is ok? Thanks for your measurements Blondes it looks like the difference is normal ish. I will ask if they can check it at my 20 week scan (which is a week on Friday when I'll be 19 + 2)

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2017 21:53

@blue hope all goes well tomorrow. Good they are keeping an eye on you

Smurfy1981 · 02/03/2017 13:27

blueroses it was all bery calm and relaxed- baby was in distress and i wasnt dilating any further than 4cm- so they took the decision to bring him oot the sunroof!!

Blueroses99 · 02/03/2017 18:37

Custard that sounds fine Smile

Smurfy well that does seem calm and relaxed, different to what I think of as an emergency!

AFM my cervix has stayed the same length 35mm and closed. The baby was moving too much to see her clearly, she's having her own little party in there! But all is good at the moment. I'm being seen every 2-3 weeks over coming months, next is my 20 week scan on the 21st.

Great news about your cervix length Blue x

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 03/03/2017 09:37

Yay Smurfy! Hope you're recovering ok, and being waited on hand and foot by your DH.

Splendid news re the cervix Blue, glad all's well. I've got my 20 weeks scan on the 21st too! Exciting times! Just started to feel flutters, it's such a weird sensation.

Welcome Scream! I hope all goes well at your first scan, when is it? Feels like a lifetime waiting for it!

MPP how are your sugar levels? Hope you're doing well.

friends123 · 03/03/2017 13:11

Hi all.
Will check in later but I just wanted to let you know that I'm currently on the delivery unit again. I had bleeding today so I'm just waiting for the doctor to see what's going on. I think they will probably give me steroids now. Will update you when I know what's next.Sad

friends123 · 03/03/2017 17:42

I've got to stay in and have steroids. I'm not in active labour, however the doctor can see where I'm bleeding from and they think it might be some of my membranes coming through. :(

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 03/03/2017 18:13

Thinking of you friends Flowers

Blueroses99 · 03/03/2017 18:37

Friends you're in the best place. Sounds like they are preparing for a potentially early arrival, I can't remember how far along you are but I know you're past 24 weeks so you and baby friends will both be looked after if that happens. I've heard of the Trendelenburg position to push membranes back in (obv not the medical term), is that a possibility for you? Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help, even if it's just some virtual company. Thinking of you xx
