Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Whizz. Huge congratulations!

Come on baby grumps! Hope this is the start of things.

MPP. Really glad the insulin is starting to work for you! Your right about the iron tablets! Wink

Blueroses. Really glad everything looked positive today, you definitely deserve a stress free ride from now on!

Eek blondes! Not long left now!

Afm. I had my 28 week scan today. Baby's doing well, normal fluid levels etc. My consultant said that we will discuss going to term at my 32 week appointment but she's hoping I won't need to go too early. However that will also depend on the size of baby because he's currently quite above the 90th centile line and has an estimated weight of 3.3lbs. Finally in the 3rd trimester. Yay.

Grumpelstiltskin · 22/02/2017 16:15

Huge Congratulations wizzi! How lovely. Was he born today? I had a little girl this morning- can't believe we have her here and she's ours!
It is so so worth it. Never really truly thought this would actually happen but there you go.

I'll be stalking cheering the rest of you on as you've all supported me over these last crazy months. Wishing you all the best from the other side. FlowersFlowers

Fantastic news Friends You must be so relieved! And a big baby too- you are doing amazingly!

Thanks for the reassurance Blueroses, Blue and Genghis - I'll just have to sit tight and be patient. That's particular hard for me Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2017 22:06

I'm blasé at people staring up my fanjo. Think I'm immune after all these years 😂

And even better lady garden all neat and tidy and waxed - if I do end up having a cs I didn't want to be shaved

@hedgehog. I know there are antid that you can safely bf on but wouldn't know if your one was. Maybe width changing

And yes leg is up a lot but also need to walk about as well.

They are swelling more :( I have seriously fat feet 😢😱 finding all shoes tight now

blue2014 · 22/02/2017 22:52

Grumpel - congrats! Smile

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 23/02/2017 00:20

Congratulations Grumple and Wizzi - absolutely wonderful news!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 23/02/2017 10:00

Wow the thread babies are like buses - none for ages and then two at once! Great news grumple and wizzi - let us know all the details if you can tear yourself away from newborn cuddles.

rose I'm literally one day behind you and do feel movements but not like I expected at all and it's only been in the last week that I've believed they are actually movements and not just more weird sensations! I sometimes lurk on the Antenatal thread for our dd and people there have been leaking milk already!! Any signs for you?? Definitely not for me!

blueroses glad youre recovering well and the bleeding was nothing bad. Always I worry I know but fingers crossed you get an easier ride now.

friends big whoop whoop at getting to 28 weeks!

hedgehog I can't advice on anti-depressants but sounds like something to research in more detail so you put you and baby in best position

blondes glad the leg is OK and not long to go for you now really so hope you're not too uncomfortable.

mpp hope you're getting on OK with the injection and the insulin sorts things out for you.

sammy Hooe you and the twins are OK??

Waves to lucie, kiwi and Icy and apologies to anyone else I've missed!

Im plodding along - discharged from cervix monitoring now as they won't do a stitch post 22 weeks and my anomaly scan was all good so just got to get through gtt - feeling a bit nervous about that due to my sweet tooth!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 23/02/2017 10:08

Squee! Babies! Congratulations wizzi and Grumpel, I'm so pleased for you Smile Flowers

Can we have lovely squidgy newborn pics when you've had a bit of time to recover? And blow-by-blow accounts of the birth?

I'm booked in to see my consultant again in 8 weeks so we can decide what to do about ADs. He's very lovely and has booked me for 4-weekly growth scans to ease my anxiety.

MPP81 · 23/02/2017 11:45

Oh wow, huge congratulations Wizzi and Grumpel!! That's fantastic news! Seconding Hedgehog's request for newborn pics and accounts of births when if you have time please!! You must both be over the moon and I hope you are all doing well.

Sammy how are you? Hope you and the twins are doing well.

Blueroses I am so pleased you have been reassured by the consultant. The last thing you need is more stress. Glad everything was ok at EPU too, though a visual scan doesnt sound like a whole lot of fun!!

Blondes Gad your scan went well, and thats good news that they're saying there's no dvt in your leg? How is it now? Any better?

Rosebud Thank you very much, it is quite a relief and I'm feeling much more positive now. As the others have said, I wouldnt worry too much about movements. They dont expect them to be regular just yet, and you may well come to realise that things you've assumed are wind/cramps etc actually turn out to be first movements. Of course, its always worth double checking with your midwife if you're worried in my opinion.

Ghengis Morning sickness while moving does not sound like a barrel of laughs! I hope the move goes well.

Hedgehog I have officially 8 weeks left til due date, but have now been told multiple times to expect 'things' to happen around 38 weeks - in six weeks time. I am still unsure of what 'things' are as I have yet to see the consultant so no idea if the plan is to induce or c-section. I bet it was fab to hear baby on the doppler! Did they let you record it? DH wasn't able to come with me the first time they did it so they said I could record it on my phone, and I went through a short phase of listening to it at every opportunity. I've no advice on the anti-depressants I'm afraid, but its lovely that you're being allowed extra growth scans to ease anxiety :-)

Friends Sorry to hear I was right about the iron tablets haha! Will you be on them til the end now? Glad your scan went well, and great to hear everything is progressing well with baby Friends. Hopefully he'll hang on in there as long as possible now! You are doing brilliantly!

Chocolate Glad to hear your anomaly scan went well. Good luck with the GTT! I'm sure you'll be fine! :-)

AFM, all looking ok here. Had my insulin upped slightly yesterday to try and bring my morning blood glucose readings down, but the nurse seems confident that this will do the trick for the moment, as I no longer have to phone her every few days and only need to phone her if I have a few high readings in a row. Had my normal midwfe appointment yesterday, and had to tell her all about the GD diagnosis. She measured my bump and it was quite a bit bigger than it should be (no suprise there) but she wasnt worried, and baby's heartbeat/my blood pressure etc were all completely fine. She did say baby's head is engaged already but said this was nothng to worry about, and a quick google tells me that that doesnt really mean anything at this point. Next appointment is a week today and thats to see, among others, the consultant (who has been on holiday since I had my diagnosis) so I assume I shall find out more about what to expect next then. On a side note, I've had an email from mamas and papas telling me our pram/car seat/pushchair travel system thingy will be arriving two weeks today and I find this quite exciting!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, and big waves to anyone I've missed!!

Custardandcream · 23/02/2017 12:23

Congratulations Wizzi & Grumple!! Hope you're both doing well and enjoying baby cuddles

Blueroses glad your appointment at the EPU went well

Genghis good luck with the move, I can imagine the sickness is making that extra hard work

Hedgehog glad you heard the heartbeat, I can't help with the antidepressants but I hope your consultant can get some answers for you soon

Friends glad baby is doing well

Chocolate glad the anomaly scan went well

MPP glad to hear the insulin is working & delivery of baby items does sound very exciting

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 23/02/2017 12:42

Yes I did record it MPP, I've listened to it a squillion times since!

Interesting that "things" will happen in 6 weeks! Sounds like they plan to induce (I guess BabyMPP is going to be on the larger side), unless your pelvis is small in which case I'd assume c/s. Either way, you'll be a mum in 6 weeks, how amazing! Which travel system did you get? I want one I can take jogging but DH reckons foldability is more important (not that we're getting anything till after 30 weeks!).

Poor you Genghis, are you feeling any better?

MPP81 · 23/02/2017 13:59

Hedgehog He's definitely on the larger side! At my private 29 week scan he was already estimated at 4.5lbs Shock They did say that if we could get my blood sugar under control then his growth would slow, but I'm thinking that was nearly 3 weeks ago now and my blood sugar are only just at the edge of being under control so goodness knows how much he's grown by already!
Also, we didnt plan on buying a travel system before 30 weeks either, but we went to window shop one day and were told by 2 different shops that there was quite a big delivery wait, so we thought we better get on the case! No idea if thats the same everywhere or not. We got the armadillo flip xt from mamas and papas. One of my friends has it, so I got to play with it a bit beforehand and its pretty awesome. Folds nice and small, folds with one hand, etc. We had a package which includes the pushchair, a carry cot, car seat, car seat base and a couple of those REALLY important little extras like a cup holder (!!). I wanted it in black, but to have it in black it wouldnt have been delivered until a week before my due date and I was worried that if I went early (as now looks to be the case) we wouldnt have a car seat to use, so we're having plum instead. I've no idea what it would be like for jogging though!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/02/2017 16:03

mp,you sound like me,bubbs was 6lb 1oz at 34w .......

have you discussed birth at all, ive said prefer not a cs, want drugs Grin but if they advise cs then will happily agree as want bubs out safe

Wizziwoo · 23/02/2017 20:05

Thanks all..we are so thrilled our lil fella is here safely. Wizzi Junior was 10 days early, all a bit of a blur as went into labour, middle of the night dash to the hospital. Put on monitor and the midwives were worried about movements and baby heart rate. So it was suddenly all lights and action and I ended up with an emergency c- section which was slightly terrifying. Baby was fine though when he was born, quick check in ScBU for a few hours and came back to me when I felt half human again. Still feeling like I was run over by a bus, c-section is no joke. Struggled with feeding the first few days as I was so sore but we are getting there now. He is a little treasure and I can't stop staring at him and believe he is actually here after all this time. It truly is amazing xx

friends123 · 23/02/2017 20:31

I also had the 30 week rule but I'm getting really tired already and I'm nervous incase he come early. I've done a bit of shopping today. I've been window shopping for prams for ages, what a complete minefield! I still don't know what to get. I need something good for dog walking. Thanks for the advice MPP, I best get move on!

Chocolate, I haven't had any leaky boobs either !?!

Blondes, my plan is similar. Although I'm bit worried now he's bigger then average. They don't seem very keen on Elcs here. I will be signing up for the pain relief though.

Blueroses99 · 23/02/2017 20:41

Talking of shopping, is anyone planning to go to the Baby Show in London next weekend? I went to one last year and they have got great deals and it's fun for getting ideas (and freebies!)

MPP81 · 23/02/2017 21:03

Blondes We had a brief discussion on birth at one of my early appointments. I had an emergency section 13 years ago with my dd, so they offered me an elective this time but I was anxious to try VBAC. Now though, with the size of baby and the diabetes I'm thinking maybe a planned section would be the best option, though I'd still like to try naturally. I think, as you say, I'll just follow recommended advice. As long as he arrives safely, thats all I care about.

Wizzi Congrats again! I'm glad you're starting to feel better!

Friends I've just looked and we ordered ours on 7th January, when I was 25 weeks and its being delivered two weeks today when I will be just under 34 weeks, so approx 9 weeks! I'm sure there's no panic though, there's bound to be places that keep them all in stock. Perhaps we were just unlucky with what we wanted vs what was readily available? No leaky boobs here either, though they are quite sore!

Blueroses I would love to go but its a little bit too much of a trek for me at the moment I think. Are you planning on going?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2017 08:51

SOUNDS scary wizzi :( but glad ds is ok

And proves baby's can come early ......

I'm just going to go with flow and if they advise cs then fair enough

They don't like doing cs for no reason so if they say yes we think you should have one then I will

Also had a scare Yesterday. Bubs wasn't kicking and been quiet afternoon /early evening - rang triage and as 35w they said come in asap as possibility placenta was failing hence not kicking (not that they told me that till plugged and heard heart )

Luckily live 10mins from hospital and strapped me up again and first couldn't find bubs heart which was awful but found in the end and the little bugger was moving about as can hear all movement as she is swishing about but not kicking etc

Needless to say was in tears and then once been monitored for an hour they said all was fine

Once unplugged Then bubs started kicking. Why couldn't she have done that earlier 🙄😡😢

Anyway panic over. She's moving today but there will be less space for her to kick etc as is a porker baby But they will remonitor me at the weekend for reassurance

Hope everyone else ok

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2017 08:53

Rough guide tho bubs has always been over their weight they say

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 24/02/2017 08:57

Wow Blondes you poor thing! Glad she's fine (but clearly capricious - watch out for the toddler stage!).

The 30-week rule is not just caution for us, it's because we're moving house in early June to Derbyshire, and I don't fancy carting a load of heavy baby stuff all the way from London. However, if the travel system needs ordering earlier we can do that, we can get it delivered to my parents' place. Good tip, thanks!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 24/02/2017 08:59

Ooh, I fancy going to the Baby Show, I'll see if DH can be coerced persuaded. Might have to bribe him with a pub lunch or similar, it's not really his cup of tea.

lucieloos · 24/02/2017 19:17

Hello there sorry I've fallen behind a bit!

Mpp, glad they are managing to get the diabetes under control now. I can't believe your little bubs might be here in 6 weeks time. How quick has that gone!

Wizzi & Grumpel, huge congrats on the arrival of your little ones. Hope you are enjoying every minute with them.

Sammy, hope everything is ok with you and the girls? Been looking out for an update from you.

Trixie, hope all is good with you too and everything is progressing nicely.

Blondes, that must have been scary yesterday. Really glad everything is ok.

Hello to everyone else...ghengis, friends, blue, hedgehog, Choc and rosebud. Hope you are all keeping well.

Not much to report here. I started aqua aerobics this week which was great and very relaxing. Next week we are starting our nct course and also doing a baby first aid course which has been recommended so busy times ahead!

I've got my next midwife appt on Tuesday which will be 28+2. She measured me a couple of weeks back and it was spot on and in the 50th percentile. I mentioned that I felt short of breath a lot of the time even if I was sat down not doing a lot. She said it's probably where everything is being pushed up but did bloods for anaemia to double check. She told me to take spatone in the meantime which is a liquid iron supplement. The bloods came back fine but since I started the spatone I've felt a lot better so may just continue them anyway.

Still finding it difficult to sleep as my hips and back hurt so much lying on my side. It's strange they are completely fine as soon as I'm out of bed. I still need to invest in a maternity pillow although I like the look of the babymoov belt as well. Don't know if anybody has tried that?

Sara237 · 24/02/2017 20:43

wizzi and grunple it's so great to hear your news. Such a big comfort knowing that babies do come to us after infertility and that there are truly happy endings! Congrats to you both.
blondes god how stressful - glad she's back to her kicking again! Will the anxiety ever subside?!
Afm- felt great today and rough yesterday. So up and down.I'm finding bed by 7 helps!
Have good weekend ladies. ☺

HopefulKate1980 · 25/02/2017 18:45

Huge huge congratulations wizzi and grumple - thrilled for you both on your gorgeous new bundles! Hope you are doing well.
