Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Has anyone been having stomach ache cramps? I'm 6 weeks today and its a constant dull ache Sad

maplebaby · 21/06/2017 07:42

Blackcherries glad the scan went well! Have you got another planned or will the next be the 12 week one?

Ash I have 9 days until mine. Time seems to be going so slowly!

Broody I haven't had loads of stomach cramps but do get them (usually when I need to poop!), I usually get lower back ache though, in fact I have that now! When I was at EPU she said cramps are normal, will be the uterus stretching and making room.

I can't seem to stop eating the last couple of days, worse in the morning. I woke up at 3am to have some rich tea biscuits today Blush

star1980 · 21/06/2017 07:42

Great news on your scan blackcherries! Hope your nausea lessens as the weeks go on.

Broody, I have had various aches and pains over the weeks - from sharp shooting pains to dull ache. I haven't so far had period like cramps but have had times when I've felt distinctly periody. Generally I think without any bleeding, put these down to uterus stretching and everything moving around in there to accommodate growth. Try not to worry.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes, you are all so lovely. It was the most horrendous 15 hrs, I'm sure you know, but starting to calm down now and back to work today. Still thinking phew!

star1980 · 21/06/2017 07:44

Cross post with you maple. I am eating like it's going out of fashion- I know you're not meant to eat for two but I'm snacking for 3!

Custardandcream · 21/06/2017 09:17

Trixie hope your last week is going ok in the heat!

bean hope you can get a scan soon, symptoms do come and go

star brilliant news! I was told after my bleed at 8 weeks that 20% of pregnancy have some sort of bleeding, which to be honest I didn't find very reassuring but shows it's a lot more common than we think.

Congratulations blackcherries

broody cramps are normal, try not to worry too much

My 34 week scan was fine thank you maple still growing inline with my last scan so I've now been transferred to midwife led and started the process of booking in at my local birth centre. They estimated current weight as 5.3 lb!

Sara237 · 21/06/2017 16:54

Great to have so many newly pregnant on here now!
Blue- been following your blog - sorry you're feeling down. You've been through so much. Your lovely Jovan will always be your first baby and precious son. Just thinking what the last year has held for you and how you've worked through it all commands my total respect. Thanks for sharing Aviana's journey too - I am rooting for her and feel a real sense of her fighting spirit. Which is clearly inherited from you even though you're a bit depleted right now. Thinking of you x

Sara237 · 21/06/2017 17:01

Icy - congratulations. Fabulous news!

beanhunter · 21/06/2017 19:08

Ladies I've had persistent pain on my right side today - feels like previous ovarian cysts. No bleeding. It's not bad but it's constant. Do I need to be worried about things like ectopic? I'm only 5+4 so sure nobody would scan me yet?

maplebaby · 22/06/2017 13:37

Star glad I'm not the only one! I've had to have snacks at 3/4am the last couple of nights and my stomach feels empty all the time which makes me feel icky.

Custard glad everything was well with the scan!

Bean I had similar pains a week or so ago but I dont think it was persistent but it was always the same side. Could you call your doctor or EPU? Sorry, not very helpful.

star1980 · 22/06/2017 19:27

Hi bean, I think ectopics are very painful so probably nothing to worry about. If you've had a cyst before, it's possible that's what you're feeling- apparently the ovary you ovulate from can sometimes develop a cyst. In any case, it's probably too early to see anything on a scan so you might just have to wait another week or so. I'm sure all will be fine.

Glad all went well Custard Smile

beanhunter · 22/06/2017 19:32

Yes I know. That's why I'm not chasing a scan. Pain gone today so that's good but felt v sick this am (oddly reassuring). Spent the day trying to figure out how I get referred to midwives where I'm moving to make sure I don't miss a 12 week scan - it's not straight forward!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 25/06/2017 23:54

I haven't posted in a while but wanted to update that our amazing boy was born this week on a incredibly hot day at 38 plus 3! Waters went v dramatically in a restaurant! Am totally besotted and cannot describe what it feels like when they're put in your chest for the first time.
Good luck to all you ladies nearing the end. rosebud know you're due now too?? Xxx

Ash75454 · 26/06/2017 07:22

Congrats chocolate.

bean how you feeling since?

I'm now 32.5 hours out from my viability scan (yes I just started counting in hours this morning) the nerves started yesterday and are growing to outright panic. I'm so nervous. My morning sickness has reduced big time which is also causing my head to work on overdrive. Then I am having acupuncture done weekly and am following the regular snack and something before getting out of bed thing so it might be they are both working for me. This road is so crazy when I have a bad nausea day and feel terrible I try to get rid of it but if I succeed and don't have any it stresses me out! Tomorrow can't come fast enough.

RoseBud2016 · 26/06/2017 07:51

Congratulations to all of the newbies- fantastic that you all find yourselves here after such long and difficult journeys Smile
Just to say that all of the anxiety and counting down and stressing out is completely normal after what we've all been through. Up until 20 weeks I lived in complete denial that this pregnancy would go anywhere after so much heartache.

Chocolate Huge congratulations! That's amazing news! I'm so happy to hear all is well and you've got your baby safely in your arms. How was your labour?

I am still very much pregnant with no signs of imminent delivery Confused 39+3 today and my hands and feet are so ridiculously swollen. Have been checked for preeclampsia and all is fine, so just got to wait it out.

Custardandcream · 26/06/2017 09:22

Bean hope the pain has stayed away

Chocolate congratulations! Hope your labour was ok in the heat

Ash Good luck for tomorrow

Rosebud hope the baby gets a move on soon

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 26/06/2017 10:18

Ah rosebud hope baby makes an appearance soon! The last weeks are so uncomfortable. I guess the heat won't have helped the swelling but v good it's not preeclampsia. Hang on in there xxx

My labour was ok - They were going to induce as labour didn't progress after 24 hours and his HR was funny so needed to be monitored. It was all so quick the midwives didn't believe I was far enough along once I was admitted so refused any pain relief. He was back to back so the pain felt awful and then all of a sudden I was on the loo and felt like I needed to push. Persuaded the midwife to check and head was on its way out so that was a bit of a panic!!! So in summary, v intense/painful but over within 3 hours.

Good luck to all the newbies. The first part is terrifying but I felt much more relaxed once I could feel movement xxx

RoseBud2016 · 26/06/2017 15:29

Chocolate Wow! That was super fast- glad it went well, despite being so painful and being refused relief.

Did you have much damage as a result of it being so quick?

How is baby chocolate doing? X

beanhunter · 27/06/2017 16:38

Congratulations chocolate. That's lovely news.

I've had a horrid 24hrs with bleeding and pain. Ended up and epau convinced it was all over as symptoms disappeared. However we saw a heartbeat and measuring 6 weeks. Still terrified of it going wrong though.

Ash75454 · 28/06/2017 21:56

broody we haven't heard from you in awhile. I'm guessing you're due a scan around now. Hope you are well.

Custardandcream · 29/06/2017 17:27

bean sorry to hear you've had such a bad time, good news about the heartbeat. Have they said what caused the pain and bleeding?

I think there are a few people having scans soon so good luck

Ash75454 · 30/06/2017 06:25

Scan today isn't it maple. Good luck.

JustTrixie · 30/06/2017 12:33

So sorry to read about your scares Star and Bean, glad that all is ok.

Officially on maternity leave and regrets about going off early have disappeared. Have had loads of stuff for the baby delivered and am having a massive sort out then have various appointments next week.

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy Chocolate.

Hopefully not much longer to wait Rosebud.

Last week in the heat wasn't fun Custard, loving the cooler weather this week. Not much longer for you now, have you got your hospital bag/birthing plan ready? I'm just starting getting things together for my bag and have been reading a few baby/birth books, really hoping to have a water birth.

Good luck to everyone having scans this week.

star1980 · 30/06/2017 14:07

Had my booking appt yesterday and dating scan booked for 18 July when I'll be 13+5! Midwife was lovely and also booked me an appt with a consultant at 14w to discuss the fibroids. Also having Down's syndrome screening same time as scan. Suddenly worried about the results. I'm guessing I get it because of my advanced age (36!) Did anyone else have it?

Glad you're enjoying your mat leave trixie Smile and getting everything ready.

Good luck with your scan today maple, hope you get a good look at the olive (or whatever fruit it is right now!)

JustTrixie · 30/06/2017 14:47

I think everyone has the screening Star. I am 35 and was also worried but all came back ok.

maplebaby · 30/06/2017 17:49

Hi all, hope everyone is ok.

Bean glad you got to EPU and saw a heartbeat!

Ash how did your scan go the other day?

Congratulations chocolate! What a quick labour - lucky you!

Rose hope you aren't kept waiting too long!

Trixie glad there are no regrets! Hope you are enjoying getting all the deliveries!

Star how was the booking in appointment? Roll on 18th! I think everyone gets the downs screening?

I had a doctors appointment this morning and need to call the midwife which I did but had to leave a message. My heart was in my mouth this afternoon waiting for the scan but all was well, measuring 8w1d so exactly on time - cried (standard) when I saw the hb and was glad DH got to see it too. Now been discharged from their care and given a weaning schedule for the cyclogest etc.

I was thinking of getting a private scan again at 10 weeks but what does everyone think? My friend doesn't think it's a good idea so now I'm doubting it but also not sure about waiting 4weeks for the next one as I get so anxious... are too many scans harmful to the baby?
