Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Iwillbemummy welcome and congratulations. My bump went up and down quite a bit at that stage so don't worry too much.

Wow lucie not long now!

Hope I second/third the idea of babybond, I've used them a couple of times

Blueroses so glad to hear you're both doing well

Kiwi congratulations hope you're both doing well

RoseBud you're right about shopping being addictive, the travel system has been ordered and I will probably order the crib by the end of the week! Wow measuring 3 weeks ahead Shock

AFM I'm 26 weeks today and getting used to the pattern of movement, and we've been going to antenatal classes which feels quite early but I'm finding them quite interesting and they are definitely helping DH

Sara237 · 26/04/2017 16:02

Kiwi - congratulations on your son great news and glad all is well.
I love hearing about these births!🌈

kiwiblue · 26/04/2017 19:35

Thanks everyone for the congratulations Smile

Labour and birth was not quite how I expected! It was insanely fast and intense (some contractions, then waters went, then contractions with no gaps between. We went to hospital 2 hours after waters went and i already had to push before we left the house. He was born 1 hour after we arrived in hospital and we didn't make it to a proper delivery suite). He was in a bit of distress at the end so i had to push him out very fast, so had some complications and had to stay in two days. It wasn't all plain sailing, but we're all doing fine now. One thing l wish people had told me about is the recovery time- I'm nearly two weeks post delivery and can still only walk very slowly and not too far. Other people have told me this is normal and it took them a few weeks to recover, but I just hadn't thought about this at all - I'm used to being active and walking everywhere!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 26/04/2017 19:56

Big congratulations Kiwi - so glad your little boy arrived safely although imagine it was a bit scary when it was all happening so quickly! I've only heard a bit re recovery but my pilates teacher keeps stressing to take it easy as apparently a prolapsed uterus is not un-common. Plus no exercise at all until bleeding completely stops as apparently can start heavily again! Xxx

lucieloos · 02/05/2017 09:56

Congrats kiwi! I hope you are feeling a little better now? How is everyone else?

It's my first day of maternity today which feels a little strange!

loopylou1984 · 02/05/2017 12:55

Lucie!! Yay for maternity leave! Remind me when are you due??

lucieloos · 02/05/2017 13:36

Thanks Sammy lovely weather here today too! I'm due 21st May so just under 3 weeks now eeek.

Sara237 · 02/05/2017 20:45

Wow lots more birth stories are imminent! Very exciting. People keep telling me my preg is going quickly but I feel time is crawling. I always think other people's pregnancies seem to fly by too! Weird.

Hope2409 · 02/05/2017 21:18

Congratulations kiwi and everyone else settling in to life with their new bundles of joy!

lucie thats great that you have started your maternity leave, enjoy your time off relaxing before the big day!

AFM i'm 6 weeks tomorrow and time till our first scan is going so slowly it feels like its standing still! Just want next friday to be here already.
Ive got a massive bloated belly presumably from the progesterone, my jeans are too tight have had to resort to leggings Blush

Custardandcream · 02/05/2017 22:26

Kiwi hope you're feeling a bit better

Lucie yay for maternity leave, not long to go now!

Sara I'm finding time seems to be moving a bit quicker since the 20 week scan, but my due date is just over 13 weeks away which still seems like ages!

Hope time seemed to stand still in the days leading up to the first scan, I found it useful to take it one day at a time but it is hard. The bloating is not fun, I was in maternity jeans by 12 weeks!

AFM I had my whooping cough vaccine today and my arm feels quite bruised I'm right handed so had it in my left and I've just realised that's going to make sleeping on my left side interesting tonight!

JustTrixie · 03/05/2017 14:01

Custard I had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday too, also left arm and couldn't really sleep on my left side last night. Still feels pretty sore today.

Enjoy your maternity leave Lucie!

Congratulations Kiwi, I hope you are feeling better now.

And congratulations on your BFP Hope

We did the John Lewis nursery tour on Sunday, was worth doing just for the complimentary Brew and Cake afterwards Grin we've picked out a few things but it is all pretty overwhelming. We had a massive clear out over Easter and have bought some paint for the nursery so it is all seeming very real. I'll be 26 weeks on Sunday and into the third trimester, time finally seems to be speeding up a bit.

loopylou1984 · 03/05/2017 14:22

Wow Lucie, any time then! Congratulations on being 'term'!

Hope2409 · 03/05/2017 19:07

Thanks custard i think i will be in maternity jeans by then too, if not before Blush i'm calling it my practice belly for when i get a real bump Grin
Sorry to hear your arm is so sore!

trixie your tour sounds good, exciting to be picking stuff for the nursery, do you know what your having?

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 03/05/2017 19:23

Hope try activated charcoal capsules and peppermint oil. Both really helped with my bloating. Also lactulose if you're constipated.

lucie time to issue that eviction notice! Must be great to be so close to the finish line. I've got 14 weeks to go and it feels like an age!

lucieloos · 03/05/2017 20:11

Thanks everyone, definitely time for an eviction notice although I'm really enjoying this part of my maternity leave and have quite a few things I want to get done before the little one arrives.

Hedgehog, the time will soon fly by before you know it!

Trixie, so exciting that you're looking into nursery stuff and bits to buy. I loved that part.

Custard, hope your arm is feeling better now.

Hope, are you going to have a private scan or wait for the 12 week one on NHS? We had our first around 7 weeks.

Hope2409 · 03/05/2017 22:23

Thanks hedgehog i will try that!

lucie we have our first scan next friday, i will be 7 + 2, that is at our ivf clinic. Then will see about private scans, i think i will want the reassurance but my DH says we will see how we feel after the first one. I have looked in to our local Babybond and there is one not far from us!

fourpawswhite · 05/05/2017 18:50

Hello old friends.

I wondered if I can come in and sit shaking quietly in the corner.

Had first scan today, six weeks. There is a pregnancy thereShock. Dh went all weepy, which he never does. I am in shock. We are to "relax" and go back in two weeks for another scan to see how things are progressing. That however is the first time we have had a successful scan.

For those who don't know me, (I recognise lots of names from infertility) hello. I am 35, six years ttc. Lots of mc, one failed IVF, due to start IVF end of May june, then BFP last week.

I don't know if I'm to early to join in here but wanted to talk somewhere.

Just reading back now. Stumbled upon this by accident. I'm so pleased I did. Sammy wow. Flowersamazing news. Pebbles, blue roses Flowersit's like a reunion. Xx

longdistanceclaraaa · 05/05/2017 21:02

Can I very tentatively join. Just got my bfp at four weeks on the dot. First mc -Feb 15. Second mc - December 15. Submucosal fibroid removal -Nov 16. Disastrous round of ivf in March 17- 2 eggs retrieved and none fertilised. Bfp the month after! It'll take me a while to get up to speed, but loons like I'm not too far behind Hope and Paws. Congratulations on the scan Paws!! That's all any of us in this situation can hope for.

Hope2409 · 05/05/2017 21:14

Congratulations paws and long sorry to hear about your journeys, great news that you finally got your bfp's!
Xxx

RoseBud2016 · 06/05/2017 09:35

Huge congratulations Fourpaws and Long! So you both conceived naturally?! That's incredible after the tough times you have both had!
I found the early days after my third IVF BFP (following 2 mcs) really tough- constant second guessing and worrying, and time drrrrrragggggs. But we are here to keep you sane. So pleased for you both Smile

Lucie- yay for mat leave! What have you been up to so far? Is your hospital bag packed yet? Not long to go at all now!

Hope not long until your first scan now- hold in there. I've got everything crossed for you!

I'm 32+1 now Shock The time is going so fast now! 3 weeks left at work and then I can hopefully start to unwind and rest until baby arrives.

fourpawswhite · 06/05/2017 09:53

Thank you long and hope. Flowers

Yes rose natural BFP. Shockthe only thing I cannot account it for is hair mineral analysis. It found a toxic level of copper and lead in my minerals. I started supplement programme in November and we have had water filters fitted across house so water is now testing clear. In other strange news we also got the rest of the houses done (private water supply) and this month four dogs have come into season, all who should have done in January. So I am trying to remain positive.

Yes, the waiting is going to be soooo hard. Constant checking for spotting. Blush

fourpawswhite · 06/05/2017 09:56

Posted to soon....

Maternity leave wow. That seems an impossible goal for me. So exciting for you.

Long and hope I think we are all about the same stage. That's nice to know.

How's everyone today?

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 06/05/2017 10:38

Oh paws I'm genuinely a bit teary to see you here, CONGRATULATIONS! Flowers Have you seen a heartbeat yet (6 weeks often a bit early)?

Huge congratulations to you too long, sounds like you've had a tough time of it. Flowers Welcome to the gang!

Sara237 · 06/05/2017 10:57

Fourpaws - so happy to see you here! Yes the waiting is agonising I know but you've had your first scan which is a great sign. X
Long distance - welcome! Another natural preg after all the ivf - amazing news!

fourpawswhite · 06/05/2017 11:04

Hi hedgehogSmile** no, no heartbeat yet. Just saw pregnancy sac and said it was sitting in a good place and that's all we can hope for for now. Back on 18 May so fingers crossed.

SaraGrinhello. Yes, the waiting is hard but you are right. I've never had a positive scan before so counting that blessing.
