Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Hi all!

We are back from our 2 week babymoon in the Canary Islands and I'm 30 weeks today! We had such a lovely time and the weather was gorgeous so it was exactly what we needed. Now the countdown is on! Our first NCT class starts tonight too- eek!

Just catching up-

Blueroses I have read your recent blog posts and I'm in absolute awe of yours and your daughters strength. She sounds like an absolutely amazing little girl and I hope that in the coming weeks and months that she continues to grow in strength. It sounds like she is getting the most excellent care. Thinking of you lots xxx

Friends You are doing an incredible job!! It might not feel that way to you at times but you are! Congratulations on his arrival and I hope the coming weeks are full of positive steps forward to getting him home. X

So pleased to hear you are both doing well with you and your babies Blondes and Sammy.

Hi everyone else! Who is due next? Is it Lucie? Smile

Sara237 · 21/04/2017 20:28

Evening fellow pregnant ones,
Lots about birth on here now which is wonderful but I wanted to pick your brains re pregnancy- has anyone else had these frequent calf cramps at night omg they are agonising!
Or a left foot that feels numb and on the verge of cramp continuously! Is this just me? Am I a freak?
Then there's the feeling of pulling and stretching which I know is normal but it suddenly feels really low down and odd when walking.
Went back to work after fortnight off this week - this is what its done to he!
Happy weekend x

Sara237 · 21/04/2017 20:29

To me not to he!

Hope2409 · 22/04/2017 20:29

Hello everyone, please can i join?

Got my first ever BFP yesterday after 4 years TTC and 2 rounds of IVF/ICSI. Still in shock, was starting to think it would never happen!

Trying not to get over excited as i know its early days, i make it that i'm 4 + 3. My first scan is booked for 12th May.

I recognise some of you ladies from a previous cycle buddies board last year, can't believe how far along some of you are!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 22/04/2017 20:43

Hi Sara, I think cramping in the legs and feet is pretty normal, I get dreadful toe cramp! The low-down stretching feeling is your ligaments adjusting - it can be quite uncomfortable but is very normal.

Welcome Hope and congratulations on your BFP! I know the first few weeks seem like forever, I hope your scan goes ok on the 12th. Any symptoms yet? Quick, enjoy the happy glow before the nausea kicks in! Grin

Custardandcream · 22/04/2017 21:24

Sammy lovely to hear you and the twins are doing well

Hedgehog 26 weeks sounds sensible and yes I also felt short changed!

Trixie yay for 24 weeks and the bump!

Rosebud you're babymoon sounds amazing

Sara I think leg cramps are normal, you have my sympathy I suffer from foot cramps and they are horrible

Hope congratulations! I was on your cycle thread last year so pleased you've got a BFP. The 12th must seem like ages away, really hope it goes quickly for you

I've cracked and started to buy stuff (was planning not to until 30 weeks, I'm 25+3) well so far I only have a groegg room thermometer but I think we will be ordering a travel system soon

Hope2409 · 22/04/2017 21:44

Thank you hedgehog and custard i thought i recognised some names!

Yes the 12th seems like ages away, you get past another hurdle and its more waiting!
Is it weird that i feel i want to do a HPT each week till my scan just to make sure im still pregnant?!

I have had a few symptoms, sore nipples/boobs feel different, stuffy nose, and i cant explain it but just a feeling in my abdomen, been tired too!!!

Custardandcream · 23/04/2017 20:54

Hope I don't think it's weird you want more reassurance, it took me quite a few tests to believe what I was seeing!

Waves to everyone, hope you all had a peaceful weekend

iwillbemummy · 24/04/2017 12:38

Hi All

Been following this feed for a while but never actually posted Smile

So amazing to read all the birth updates etc and makes me feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant after having ICSI and having a nervous couple of days and don't know where to ask my question Confused. Hoping you ladies can help.

With the ICSI I had the joy of cyclogest (progesterone pessaries) up until the end of my 12th week. I have noticed in the last week that my tummy has shrunk, enough for DH to notice as well.

Am I being paranoid or is this a consequence of stopping the pessaries and the 'progesterone bloat' going down.

We are considering a private scan, but think we are being paranoid and need to just sit and wait until our 20 week scan.

Have any of you ladies experienced this?

Hope you are all having a good Monday Grin

Sara237 · 24/04/2017 14:37

Hope so pleased for you! I did a test a day for about first month! Totally normal to my mind. It does all feel like hurdles and tbh I still feel anxious but excited obv. Great to see you on here!
Iwillbemummy- I'm not sure about your question but re additional scans, when I was worried I called midwife and she listened to heartbeat which was reassuring. If you feel nervous you could try this. Hang on in there.
AFM - seeing midwife at 4 they have me down as 24 weeks which is odd as ec was 25nov so how can I be 6 months? Preg maths is bizarre!

iwillbemummy · 24/04/2017 15:37

Thanks Sara for your reply. I did have a midwife appointment last Thursday and she did listen for a heartbeat but couldn't find it. She did say it was too early and didn't at all seem to be alarmed.

This has probably added to my anxiety to be fair. Confused

Hope2409 · 24/04/2017 18:53

sara pregnancy maths is bizarre, i will be 5 weeks on weds but only seems like 5 mins ago i was going through treatment!
Congrats on being 24 weeks!

I'm planning on popping to the shops tomorrow to get some more tests but i have been good and only tested once since my official 3 Grin glad its not just me that likes to make sure!

I'm just so nervous and worried every feeling might be something bad, can't wait to get to our first scan.
Booked in with the midwife today too which is exciting, seeing her on 18th may.

iwillbemummy i'm sorry i'm not much help, i will be on the progesterone pessaries until around 12 weeks too but havent suffered much bloating so far.
As sara said i'm sure your midwife would be happy to help if your concerned.

I think we will end up considering private scans too at some point it is such a nervous time!

Xxx

lucieloos · 24/04/2017 19:17

Hi there sorry I haven't been on here much! So much has happened since I last checked in!

Friends and Blue, congrats on the birth of your little ones. I hope they are doing well. Blue, I have been reading some of your blog and sounds like you are going through a lot but doing an amazing job.

Rosebud, very jealous of your canaries holiday. Would love a bit of sun and relaxation now!

Trixie, brilliant news the baby bump has appeared! So exciting.

Sammy, so lovely to hear from you, I have often wondered how you are getting on. Glad to hear it's not too tiring!

Mpp, hope you and little one are doing well.

Blondes, sounds like everything is going really well for you and your little girl. Great that she is feeding so well.

Welcome and congratulations to newbies!

Can't believe I'm possibly the next to give birth on here! Exciting and scary at the same time. I'm 36+1 today so have just under 4 weeks to go. I have my next midwife appt tomorrow to check the position of the baby. All has been well so far and baby has been facing the right way and head down the last couple of appts so hope it hasn't wriggled and changed around now! I'm feeling ready for it to arrive now. It's my last week in work this week thank goodness as growing increasingly tired and uncomfortable. Looking forward to a couple of weeks at home.

iwillbemummy · 24/04/2017 22:30

Thanks Hope. By the time I got to twelve weeks and told close friends I had one of them comment that I must have been 30 weeks by the size of my bump!!! Can imagine how that made me feel! Like a bloody whale! I'm normally a size 8/10 so was embracing it at the time. Now it just seems to have gone down. Will def speak to my midwife this week (she only works thurs and fri at my doctors surgery so hopefully catch her then).

We had the usual 6 week scan at our IVF clinic and were told to go down the usual route of midwife etc. But the thought of waiting for the 12 week scan wasn't the best, so we had a private scan at 9 weeks and so glad we did!!! Really reassured us at a time when everyday can bring a new anxiety.

Apart from the shrinking belly Shock lol, I'm actually enjoying the pregnancy. Just hope I can shake this nervousness.

iwillbemummy · 24/04/2017 22:31

My friend said 20 weeks not 30 Shock! Sorry, didn't read before pressing post!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 25/04/2017 08:56

iwillbemummy congratulations and welcome! It's totally normal for your tummy to shrink a bit after stopping the pessaries, mine did by loads and I'm now 25 weeks and baby is fine.

Wow lucie only 4 weeks to go! Hope they pass swiftly and issue-free for you.

Hope2409 · 25/04/2017 13:58

iwillbemummy please can i ask how much did you pay for your private scan and how did you go about booking one and who with? I know i am going to struggle with waiting and might need the reassurance i'm panicking over every niggle!

iwillbemummy · 25/04/2017 14:12

Hope - I did enquirer at our local private hospitals (Nuffield / Spire), but they were quoting around £200 mark. In the end asked the fertility clinic if they would have me back as they obvs have private patients and they said yes for £85. Was more than happy to see little one moving and dancing about at 9weeks 5days. So glad we had that scan as really put my mind at ease seeing heartbeat and he/she dancing about.

A hedgehog- thanks for the welcome! Even at 15 weeks I still feel like a fraud on the pregnancy forums, but nice to ask you ladies for your like for like experiences.

Feeling much better today in terms of nervousness. Feel like my mini bump is 'tidier' lol. More baby, rather than sausage sandwich Grin

Hope2409 · 25/04/2017 17:26

Thanks iwillbemummy i will ask at my fertility clinic when i go in for my first scan.

Glad your feeling better today with your tidy lil bump!!! So exciting x

lucieloos · 25/04/2017 17:40

Hope, check out babybond they have lots of scanning places everywhere and are relatively reasonable. I think that tends to be the one most people use. We had a couple of scans at our local one and they were great.

Blueroses99 · 25/04/2017 17:53

MPP thanks for the advice on expressing. Hope you and baby MPP are settled at home now.

Trixie we picked out the name around a week before she arrived. It was really nice having a name we could use straightaway particularly as no one can pronounce our surname. If you both love a name now chances are it'll stick! Great that you're showing now!

Custard our families are feeders so asking for help with food makes everyone happy 😊 Hope you're doing ok.

Sammy yes I want to be cotside all the time too. My friend has bought her an octopus, I think she'll love it as she does like to worry the nurses by grabbing wires all the time. Glad to hear the twins are doing well.

Hedgehog thanks so much for the offer but we have an octopus for just as soon as she's allowed it. Hope the pillow is helping.

Rosebud your babymoon sounds lovely. Hope NCT is going well. I'm going to have to cancel mine again!

Sara I get cramps a lot, I find bananas help.

Welcome Hope and iwillbemummy. Private scans can be done more cheaply by companies like BabyBond, have a look there might be one near you.

Hello everyone.

rosebud welcome home, probably safe to say you and DH have had the best holiday ever!
bluerose I am so pleased Aviana is doing well, despite her not so good day this week. You're doing a fantastic job. Hope you're not over doing it with the everyday stuff that need sorting out.
Hello iwillbemummy sorry you're feeling anxious! Can you not call the midwife for some advice? Don't feel daft about asking, they would rather you did than suffer in silence.
sara those cramps are awful! Seen on google somewhere that it's nicknamed pregnancy leg! I feel your pain when they strike.
friends hope your doing ok.

Waves to anyone I've missed, a few days away from the thread and lots happens.

AFM I am 30wks. Getting lots of massive kicks from baby peps, I love every single one. Must start buying some essentials for baby very soon.

kiwiblue · 25/04/2017 20:38

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for a while. So much has been happening!

Blueroses congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I've been reading your blog, it sounds really tough but you sound like you are doing an amazing job.

Friends congratulations too, hope you are both doing well.

Mpp and blondes congratulations, hope all going well and you're enjoying getting to know your little ones.

Hope all going well with everyone else.

Update from me, I had a baby boy on good Friday, half an hour before due date! I was preparing myself to go over so wasn't really expecting it yet! We're all doing well, settling in at home and getting used to each other.

RoseBud2016 · 25/04/2017 21:12

Hope Congratulations my lovely! Great to see you over here! Weeing on countless pee sticks is completely normal- I did it every day for about 2 weeks (until DH confiscated them- spoil sport) and loved seeing the line getting darker and darker. It helped to put my mind at rest in the early days so I say pee away!

Welcome Iwill and congrats! The progesterone definitely causes lots of bloating so I wouldn't be overly concerned if you're feeling like you've got a bit smaller- you will soon get bigger again Smile

Custard once you start buying stuff you'll probably find it hard to stop- I found it quite addictive in the end...,much to DHs dismay Grin

Great to hear things are going well Lucie I hope your last week at works goes nice and quickly.

Blue happy 1 week birthday to Aviana! So pleased to hear that she is stable and that have been able to get more involved with her care- your blog is so powerful- you are doing amazingly well x

Pebbles You are being way to restrained! Get buying! Lol

Kiwi huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your little boy! How was your labour and birth?

AFM- 31 week midwife appointment and all is still going well. Still measuring 3 weeks ahead Shock

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 26/04/2017 10:10

Yay, congratulations kiwi, so lovely to see another graduate of this thread Flowers How was the birth? How's your DS?
