Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

hello all!

Sara I had an anterior placenta too and it did take a little longer to feel movements. Please try not to worry. I'm sure you'll feel them soon.

Friends I'm sorry you werent thrilled about the induction. I was ttold a natural labour would help with babys lungs too, as he was premature, but induction wasnt an option for me due to the bleeding and previous c section. I hope the induction has gone/is going well! Cant wait to hear your news!

Hedgehog Get the pillow!! You wont regret it! Baby MPP and I are getting on well, thank you. I still cant really believe he's here.

Custard Glad to hear baby custard moved about when you went to have a listen in. Don't ever feel silly if you're worried. Its always worth getting checked, IMO.

Blueroses I've just read your blog and I really dont know what to say. I hope the positive experiences and stories of others give you hope and add to the amazing strength you've already shown. I am thinking of you and your baby. xxxxxx

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 18/04/2017 08:53

bluerose just read the blog - I so hope you're both OK. Thinking of you xxx

MPP81 · 18/04/2017 11:23

Blueroses I have also read your news. I am thinking of you and hoping you, DH and your daughter are doing well. Her name is beautiful. I tried to post a response to your blog from my phone but failed miserably so I just wanted to share my experience of expressing in case its any use to you. Because of my diabetes, I had been told to try colostrum harvesting. I managed to hand express a little, and DH was in charge of catching what I did express in a syringe. I didnt get alot beforehand but it did increase the more I tried, and I think I went in with 5-6mls in syringes, harvested over 4 days. Once Baby MPP was born and taken to SCBU, one of the midwives gave me a hospital grade electric pump and told me to try pumping every 2-3 hours to try and encourage my milk (especially overnight, as apparently that helps the most). The first time I tried I didnt get a thing, but the second time, there was a tiny bit in the bottom of the bottle. It looked like so little, I almost threw it away, but my DH told me to get a syringe and suck it up and see how much there was. Turned out, I had expressed a few mls of colostrum and I filled 3 syringes. I was so pleased to deliver those to SCBU. Over the next 24 hours, I got more and more, and then my milk came in. I also second the advice on your blog about looking at pictures of your little one while expressing. It seemed to help a fair bit. I hope you are as ok as you can be, and I am thinking of you and your little girl xxxx

JustTrixie · 18/04/2017 11:44

Blueroses I have been keeping an eye on your blog over the weekend and am so glad you made it to 24 weeks. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter, the name you have chosen for her is beautiful. It must be so overwhelming, I am thinking of you and hoping your little girl's journey through the NICU is as smooth as possible.

Sara I hope you start to feel somemovement soon.

Hedgehog I have a name that both DH and I love which I feel like is her name already. DH is keen for us to have a shortlist to choose from when she is born though so we've got 4 or 5 other names in reserve. I was going to ask if everyone else hasa name readyor waits until baby is born?

Friends I hope the induction went well and your baby boy has arrived safely.

Sammy lovely to read that you were able to take your girls home after 3 weeks, it must be pretty full on with two but hope all is well Smile

Custard glad you were able to get checked out and all is ok.

Pebbles086 · 18/04/2017 12:12

Wow bluerose I've been reading the blog daily, amazing how in tune you are with your body and you just knew she was on her way!
Old wives tale, but baby born in sac is extremely lucky.
Keeping everything crossed that your baby girl has an easy ride from now on and gets stronger each day.
Beautiful name too! Lots of love to you

friends123 · 18/04/2017 15:19

Hi guys. Oh blue, I haven't had time to read your blog yet but I can see the update in other peoples responses. I hope you and baby are doing well. I will read through everything later. All the best.

Hope everyone else Is doing well.

Afm , I was induced, I was dilating and having contractions. After 12 hours they broke my waters, unfortunately everything started to go wrong. Baby's heartbeat dropped to 80bpm and i found myself in a room full of about 10 people panicking and screaming to get the consent from etc because they wanted baby out in no more than 20 mins. I was whisked down for an emergency section.( Luckily they managed not to give me the general anaesthetic because the spinal worked quickly.)
Baby was born and he wasn't doing too well so they took him down to NIcu for some cpap. My DH went with him, they thought he would only need help for 24 hours or so. Unfortunately it seems to be one step forward and two more back, He was then upgraded to bipap and now we've been told that they think he might have an infection and needs to be put on a ventilator which might mean he needs to be moved to a grade 3 unit at a different hospital. I will keep you guys updated xx

Blueroses99 · 18/04/2017 20:29

Thanks for your lovely messages and advice, just skimming at the moment but will read properly later.

Just wanted to say, Friends, that sounds so scary for you. These level 3 hospitals are amazing though, they have so much great expertise and experience. Do you mind me asking what part of the country that you're in? Please let us know how you both get on. Wishing you all the best xx

Thinking of you all. Tried to do a comment but again won't let me

Will message you with expressing tips

Much love xxxx

Pebbles086 · 18/04/2017 21:00

OMG friends poor baby. I hope it's not an infection. Thank goodness they acted so quickly. Thinking of you. X

friends123 · 19/04/2017 00:19

Unfortunately 100% of his oxygen is now coming from the ventilator. Just waiting for the doctor to see what's next.

I'm in Derbyshire Blue, but they would transfer us to St Mary's in Manchester, Which is a really good hospital. I
hope you and baby are doing well? I think baby blue and baby friends share the same birthday! Keep going you have done an amazing job. Hopefully I can catch u
Up with your blog tomorrow. Take care xxx

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 19/04/2017 09:41

Congratulations blueroses on your DD's birth! I'm glad she's doing well, and hope she pulls through with no significant problems.

friends sorry to hear about the infection, St Mary's is a great hospital though. Congratulations on your baby's birth! Flowers

Trixie we've chosen a name, Joseph. We've got a really long foreign surname so we're sticking with just the one name, no need to saddle the poor lad with multiple middle names he'll spend ages writing out on forms.

I've cracked an ordered a pregnancy pillow - not the 10' long one though, just the triangular thing that doubles as a breastfeeding pillow. I'm hoping it'll help my back, I keep waking up in the night feeling sore and stiff.

I've bought a Secret Saviours stretch-mark thing, but I'm still not big enough for it - I'm guessing it'll come into its own in the last trimester (only 2 weeks left of this one!).

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 19/04/2017 09:52

friends congratulations on the birth and really hope you're both OK and the infection clears up quickly. Must be terrifying for you. Look after yourself xxxx

Hope everyone else is OK and blueroses thinking of you!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2017 15:24

FRIends. Sorry missed your post. Hope your little boy is ok and same as blue he is in the best place 💐

friends123 · 19/04/2017 16:00

Hi, he's much the same today and they've told us to expect to be here for the long haul.
Just wanted to say I've read your blog Blue. Thank you do much for doing it. You've helped me so much today and you will be totally unaware. Today has been a real struggle, I find myself staring at all the happy new parents and the ones having a quick fag outside with their hige pregnant bellies and wonder what I've done to deserve this. I feel totally broken and keep wondering if baby George would of been better off with a different mum.

friends123 · 19/04/2017 16:06

Oops sorry for the really depressing post guys. I didn't want to or mean to bring the thread down.

Hope everyone else is doing well? Would love to hear some positive scan news etc?

How you getting on Blondes?

Hedgehog I love the name Joseph! We are still trying to decide on a middle name and that's right up there.

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 19/04/2017 16:45

Ah friends I'm sorry to hear that. You and blue are in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

MPP are you still expressing or bf? Hope all's well and your wee one is thriving.

Sara237 · 19/04/2017 18:43

Blueroses - have caught up with your blog - huge congratulations! Wow what a difference a week makes. Beautiful name too 🌸

Sara237 · 19/04/2017 18:47

Friends - so sorry to hear you are feeling such sadness and please don't apologise for it. Your posts show the wonderful person and loving mum that you already are and always will be. Thinking of you.
AFM - think I'm feeling odd flutters. Though could be easter eggs digesting...😆

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2017 23:12

@friends - your son has the best mum he needs. Totally understandable why you feel the way you do but don't beat yourself up

All good with my daughter and I (love saying that) tho she is a piglet and drinks 5oz every 3hrs or boob and top up

Gets weighed next week and sure she has put on a lb !!

Custardandcream · 20/04/2017 09:25

Blueroses congratulations on your little girl, her name is beautiful. Hope you manage to establish a routine of expressing and traveling quickly. Look after yourself, just a thought but if you're family want to help could they make up some freezer meals and snacks for you?

Friends congratulations on your little boy, another lovely name. So sorry to hear about the infection. No need to apologise for struggling and feeling down, it's totally understandable but you are the best mum for your little boy. Look after yourself

Hedgehog yay for the pillow hope it arrives quickly, what dates are you using for third trimester? All the dates I've seen are different, my pregnancy book says 25+1 which is today for me!

Sara yay for flutters hopefully it's not just the chocolate!

Blondes you and your daughter sound like you're doing really well

loopylou1984 · 20/04/2017 10:12

Congratulations friends and blueroses.

Friends - I hope they get on top of your babies infection soon. The oxygen/ventilators look scary but they're just making things as easy as possible for him so he can fight the infection.

Blueroses - you did so well getting your little girl so far, I've read your blog and I'm glad you're enjoying being called mummy. She's early, and has some hurdles to overcome but whatever happens she is so lucky to have you as her mummy.
Have a look at octopus for a premie... maybe one of your relatives could knit her one? Or you if you know how to knit!

Both of you, the one thing that really got to me when the girls were in nicu was people saying 'you don't have to be there all the time, enjoy time to yourself while you can' because the only place I wanted to be was by their cotside. Do what is right for you and don't be afraid to be firm about what you want.

loopylou1984 · 20/04/2017 10:16

For those who asked the twins are good. Putting on weight well (hefty 7lb7 at 9.5 weeks old!).
It's hard with 2, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Just a little positive note on sleep (all you get is negative stories about how you'll never sleep again!) - yes I'm getting only a few hours broken sleep but I feel a million times less tired that during pregnancy!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 20/04/2017 11:37

Custard I'm using 26 weeks+ for the third tri, on the basis that the first two have 13 weeks each and the last one has 14 weeks. I felt a bit short-changed when I worked that out, pregnancy is actually nearly 9 and a half months!

Ah Sammy great to hear you and the twins are doing well, and that the sleep deprivation isn't the worst thing in the world!

Blondes hurrah for your wee piglet, she sounds fab! I hope you're managing to get enough rest amid the constant feeds.

friends I hope you're feeling more positive - your DS wouldn't be here without you, he needs YOU as his mummy, no-one else would do a better job for him.

blueroses still thinking of your little Aviana, I second the idea of an octopus - would you like me to post you one? If so PM your address.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2017 21:53

agree moresleep now as a mummy, as was peeing every hour when preg

all going well , feeds, awake foran hour or so then sleeps 1.5/2hrs and starts again

glad all going well sammy

JustTrixie · 21/04/2017 14:11

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy Friends I hope that he is doing ok and you are feeling a bit better. George is a fab name (I really like Georgia for a girl) and he is lucky to have you.

Ooh, great that you are getting flutters Sara hopefully you'll get some full on kicks soon.

Lovely to read about the twins Sammy I've been pretty worried about the lack of sleep. I do not cope well on little sleep, so reassuring to know that it's not too bad (even with 2!)

We know a little Joseph Hedgehog another lovely name (excellent taste on this thread) all the names on our list are quite long, luckily our surname is only 2 syllables.

I've been reading your updates on your blog Blueroses sounds like you are coping so well.

Been thinking that it must be getting close to your due date Lucie hope you are doing ok.

I'll be 24 weeks on Sunday and my bump has finally appeared, still small but definitely look pregnant now Smile
