Pregnancy after infertility or fertility treatment can be a scary place, from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding to other random symptoms.

We are a supportive group of women across all stages of pregnancy who are used to being on the wrong side of the odds and still can't believe it's really happening.

Feeling, I'm 33 weeks and baby is measuring just as it should slightly above the 50th percentile. I haven't heard of ivf babies being small. I'm sure everything will be ok with your little one. They can always refer you for extra scans if they have any concerns. I think so long as it is growing and putting on weight at each appt there shouldn't be too much cause for concern.

FeelingForSnow · 31/03/2017 18:50

Thank you for your replies girls. It's good to hear that you have had bigger babies. I am very worried and constantly monitoring movements and thinking that I have "done" it to her because of IVF and feeling even more anxious.

I feel great physically and the pregnancy has been great so far and just feel like I have to take one day at a time now.
Thanks for your good words.

It's not your fault at all feelin

And, it's alright Blue - it was a c section Grin

Sara237 · 01/04/2017 21:27

Blueroses - sorry you had to have another stitch you really deserve a break. Really hoping things settle down for you now. I had the anomaly scan yesterday and was all fine I asked about cervical measuring and sonographer seemed uncertain and said its only if you're high risk - but how would you know that until a loss occurs was my question she wasn't too sure.
Mpp- best wishes for Monday how exciting for you!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2017 21:48

Blue sorry you needed another stitch but glad all ok

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2017 22:18

I WROte out a long post and it went awol

Grrrrrr

Short story.

Went in Sunday to be induced. Had 24hr pessery which was awful to put up inside my cervix. So painful. Started contractions. Soooooo painful but didn't dilate. Had a 6hr one. Again nothing apart from contractions but not dialate. Then another 6hr which started very small dilations and think got to 2cm

Pathetic

They decided to break my waters. Again bloody hurt and we heard a pop and whoosh of water

Then I started to dilate and quickly

Was very tired and wanted to stop and begged for cs but they said no and baby was then too low to have one. Took great effort but finally managed to push head out - tearing myself and bleeding :(

Shoulders out was much easier and literally slid out

I'm a mummy - my gorgeous daughter was born tue 18.23pm - 7lbs 3oz

Then the problems started. Couldn't get placenta out and I was bleeding tons

Was rushed off to surgery literally 10m after baby was born

Had a local then an epidural - didn't feel a thing

They couldn't stop the bleeding and trying to get all the placenta out of me and I literally had it Scraped out of me via a lovely doctor using her hands inside me

Finally stopped and went up to my private room and had a blood transfusion

Mw came today. But very nice older lady. All ok

Tho she did say as was leaving. Enjoy baby. I said I would and she said I've been through hell getting her

I agreed and said yes ivf. She said no. I meant the bleeding and near death experience 😱

I queried it and she said during the bleeding placenta etc that it got very serious as I was losing so much blood that they were really worried about me as was pumping out blood as much as they were trying to put in ....

I said I didn't reliese it was that serious and she said it was as they couldn't stop the bleeding and suddenly it stopped

To go from 120 to 66 in a matter of hours is not good .....

And I had 3 blood transfusions

But I'm a mummy and omg that's all that's matters x

Sara237 · 02/04/2017 06:35

Blondes - god. I mean congratulations on your lovely daughter wonderful news. But that birth. Jaysus. I always think it mind boggling that after going through something like that women then have to start caring for a baby when they really need a month at a spa! Ha, enjoy being a mummy x

THirdEeye · 02/04/2017 07:57

Blondes congratulations.....but oh my, I bet you are in shock after hearing that. I'm glad that you are ok, please have lots of cuddles with baby blondes

Blueroses99 · 02/04/2017 08:19

Blondes congratulations on your little girl but what a welcome to the world! So glad that you are both doing well now, enjoy every minute with her Flowers

Sara pleased that everything was well at the anomaly scan. I ponder over the same thing about lack of routine cervix measuring. Hmm

Feeling don't beat yourself up

Sara that's what I was told when I first asked about measuring, it's very frustrating

Blondes congratulations! You've been through a hell of a lot and then to find out how bad it was like that must have been a shock, look after yourself and enjoy the baby cuddles

MPP the very best of luck to you for next week! You have done amazingly to get this far with all the hurdles that have been thrown your way in the last couple of months. Your baby will be safely in your arms very very soon. X

BabytoBoris · 04/04/2017 07:41

MPP and Blue thinking of you both. Hoping all is well xx

Waves to everyone else, hope you're making the most of the nice weather, a nice cold glass of wine after work is definitely missed here. Wine

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2017 08:57

all good here, tho ive seemed to brought the only pump that has to be plugged into a usb cable to make it work Hmm

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 05/04/2017 10:53

A USB cable?? Very peculiar! Are you pumping milk at the same time as BF? Curious to know how it's going, I'm keen to express so DH can help with feeds but I'm not sure when to start with the pump.

JustTrixie · 05/04/2017 11:43

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter Blondes, sounds like the birth was an ordeal, hope you are recovering well.

Good luck MPP - keeping an eye out for your update.

Welcome and congratulations Madgwick, good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Good news about your anomaly scan Sara

Hope you're doing ok Blueroses.

All the pain I had must have been stretching as I finally have a proper bump, its still small but feel more pregnant. Have had horrible back pain since last night, hopefully it passes. 5 days until my anomaly scan.

I'm 21+3 and was thinking the same with the energy thing Custard, I get the odd burst but it never lasts long.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2017 14:53

Yes I bf at night then top up with formula

Daytime either pump as want to know what she takes then depending what I get - she drinks 90/100ml a feed then top up with formula

I wanted to mix feed and all going well

Means daddy or friends etc can help

Sara237 · 05/04/2017 15:11

Blondes - sounds like you're doing a fine job. If you don't mind me asking what expressing machine did you get? I've been looking at them but bit of a minefield. Ah so, so pleased for you!
Just Trixie - we are about the same stage I am 21+5 and having lots of stretching feelings. Its all happening! Also feels odd to sleep on right side - bit squished up. Trying to stay on left as they advise but end up rotating like a rottiserie chicken!
MPP- thinking of you hope you are OK.
AFM- anomaly scan showed I have placenta at front not back. Been reading up on the differences. Could be why my bump seems bigger. Anyone else with the same?
I am 40 tom. Off for a little break. Been bit emotional today hormones really seem all over place feel like I have pmt! Waves to all x
