I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Have to go out, but just dashing on to check on Writerwannabe83.
Mother Hen swears by those ice lollies. I'm surprised they didn't admit you, t be honest, but A and E is so busy atm I suppose he wanted to avoid your being their for hours.
Waves to all - back soon - just seen the comment from RubyReinsabout being a 'spewing ninja' - does that mean that you are very skillful, with the timing perfect? That is enviable...
Back soon.

Writerwannabe83 Agh! Just mistyped 'there' so it looks as if i don't know the difference between that an 'their'. Not as if you'll care atm. I swear by flat sugary coke, but they are much of a muchness, I suppose.

RubyReins · 03/02/2017 11:00

Nah - just means I am very good at hiding it. Our bathrooms at work are all down many flights of stairs so I am resorting to last year's bathrooms of Edinburgh map that I memorised for said ninja spews. It was the Balmoral Hotel this morning. I'm a classy bird.

LightTripper · 03/02/2017 11:30

Hi writer - so glad the lollies worked for you, but do keep an eye on it. Can you actually take the cyclizine (with caution) or not? If not, could the GP not give you something else? There are quite a few alternatives with different mechanisms - so even if you can't take any anti-histimines then there may be something else (e.g. metoclopramide or prochlorperazine) that would be worth a go. It's great that you're drinking and eating a bit, but you really want to be able to keep your strength up, and I'm sure if you could take something that would give you a few "good" hours a day (where you can at least get upright and eat a bit) that would make a huge difference to how you feel.

Nausea a bit worse here and I seem to have got a constant taste of soap in my mouth these last few days (better than the constant foul taste in my mouth in early pregnancy but still weird and unpleasant). Still, not throwing up and feeling OK generally, so will try not to whinge as I know most people here are feeling much much worse! I'm hoping it's partly as I've had a full on week with OH away for work - he's back tomorrow (yay!) so I'm hoping next week I can do a bit less and feel better again.

sprite25 · 03/02/2017 15:11

Hi everyone just checking in for my daily moan. Thanks for the tips on dealing with a toddler all day alone, I had an OK morning nausea wise so took DD to the swings and am now paying for it big time. I'm so fed up of this already and am only 7 weeks

peaceloveandbiscuits · 03/02/2017 15:57

DS was very upset when I was being sick after brushing my teeth for the dentist; tried to pull me away from the toilet and said "all done mummy" Sad

Told the dentist about HG and she was remarkably understanding about the state of my gnashers.

sprite25 · 03/02/2017 17:16

Peace it's horrible isn't it, DD was in tears complete with snot bubbles the other night when I was shoulder deep in the toilet, I wanted to call out that mummy was OK but couldn't and just had to listen to her cry til I could crawl away from the bathroom and give her a cuddle

LucindaE · 03/02/2017 18:07

sprite25 and peaceloveandbiscuits That is so upsetting, poor all of you.
But they won't remember this, and a sibling is the best present you could give them.
LightTripper Soap? Oh dear; I suppose better than what has been described as a 'taste as if something took a dump in my mouth' but bad enough. You always are so comforting to everyone, which is wonderful when you still don't feel great yourself. Sorry that things have been hectic. No need for me to quote my usual sayings! I hope you feel a bit better at the weekend. Surely you are due to go on ML soon, you hard working thing?
Pip1982 Sorry that going back to work has been such a strain. As you mention the train - is it a long commute as well?
Meowstro You've had some good advice about whether sickness can go entirely with meds. I have known many cases of that on here. What tends to happen, though, is that sufferers are very anxious to cut down and set themselves back by doing it too early.
Writerwannabe I so agree with Mellebacca and LightTripper I think it was - that there are combinations of meds they can try. Sorry to hear the other condition makes things difficult.
Mellebacca Goodness - feel for you when you feel ill as well - those screams must horrify people in the waiting room! Does LO object to being adjusted?
Watch me cross post.

Lucinda - DD doesn't fight being adjusted, but she's a little standoffish with males and just screams the whole chiro session. Then is all smiles when she leaves. The waiting room was empty when we went in, but full when we came out 😞. At least it's over for a few more months.

Feeling ok-ish so far this morning, but still in bed. Had a better night sleep, but the heat is pretty torturous in the late afternoon. Thank god it's the weekend!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 03/02/2017 19:20

Sprite it's just the best when we're in public and I'm trying to daintily vom into a bag behind a tree, and he's saying "MUMMY? BLEURGH" Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2017 23:18

Soap Taste sounds better then a monkey Shat in my mouth

As I described it 😂😂

LucindaE · 04/02/2017 17:53

Blondes Grin That is certainly more vivid!

peaceloveandbiscuits That is highly embarrassing. Does LO address these remarks to passers by?
Melleebacca It's good she only has to go every few weeks, then. Did you say you are in NZ? Heat isn't nice when you're ill. Everything was frosted over this morning here in Mid Wales.

Just had a huge puking session. Again a scene like the exorcist coming out of mouth and nose :(

Just as think getting better. Haven't been sick since think last Friday when was very sick and back again

Tho guess once every 7/8 days is ok lol

Going to bed feeling sorry for myself

Southlondon321 · 04/02/2017 23:30

Hi all, hope you are well. I haven't got chance to read and catch up but it looked like some new names.

Having an extremely stressful time at the moment. It's made me sick yesterday but held it together today.

MagnumAddict · 05/02/2017 08:54

Those sessions are the worst blondes especially if you were feeling better.

I've had a better few days sickness wise but well being not so much. My new tablets gave floored me. On the first day I had them I literally slept most of the day. Thankfully ds was at nursery or u wouldn't have been able to look after him. I was like a zombie even for the short periods I was awake.

Gradually as the days have passed I've been doing a bit better on them and no take before I go to bed at night. Can't say they make me feel normal. I still can't face most foods but I'm keeping down the small amounts of food carbs I can eat.

Hope everyone has a bearable day!

lucinda I seem to have dropped off the due dates - I'm 1st September, thanks

LucindaE · 05/02/2017 13:54

MagnumAddict Whoops, sorry; so much for my cutting and pasting.
I've amended it below. Glad there is a qualified improvement.
Blondes That is foul. Coming out of ones nose, so that you have to gasp for breath betweeen heaves, makes one feel as if one is dying. Cyber pats on offer.

SouthLondon I am sorry to hear of the stress, whatever the cause that's bound to make you feel worse.

Hi all, hope everyone is having a better day then me. Been taking the cyclizine but nausea is really bad today and back at work tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to.

MagnumAddict · 05/02/2017 18:24

Thanks lucinda it was as much for mellbeecas benefit so she's not last Grin

Sprite hope you have a better day tomorrow in work. I don't have work tomorrow but looking after 16mo ds. Feeling like this some days I'd rather be in work than reading another story for the 100th time! Feel mum guilt for even thinking that. I can go for a sleep when he does though so at least there is that.

LucindaE · 05/02/2017 18:34

MagnumAddict I am sure that Mellebacca is relieved that she's been replaced at the bottom of the list Smile. Looking after toddlers is so exhausting.
Sprite25 Oh dear, is there no chance at all of extending your sick note? I know I always say that...

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2017 19:11

@magnum. Yes they are bad :( and unexpected. ESP as 3rd from the top and 32w

stamps foot. I don't deserve to still be sick

I was bottom once bless you but before you know it you will be middle then near the top :)

peaceloveandbiscuits · 05/02/2017 23:57

Everyone at the top was once at the bottom. We're all in the same boat Sad but everyone at the bottom will one day be at the top, and no longer able to stick their head in the sand about how this small human is going to exit their body Grin

I've not been sick for a couple of days, which has been grand. But does anyone else struggle with colds and throwing up if you can't blow your nose quickly enough? And coughing too, sometimes makes me gag. I live in fear.

MagnumAddict · 06/02/2017 08:17

That's true peaceloveandbiscuits although I still maintain labour and birth is nothing compared to living with HG for months and I had an epic labour which resulted in an eventual section so that's saying something ShockGrin

CastleFeck · 06/02/2017 10:59

Yep the coughing often leads to spewing. It's like your body is so keen to vom it needs no excuse.

Anyone else get the fear that when they've had a few good days it's all going to go to pot again?

Hope those at work are surviving and CBeebies is taking care of those at home with toddlers.

LightTripper · 06/02/2017 11:13

I've got one more week of work, and then a week of annual leave (so I might work a bit if there is stuff to do) and then mat leave. I will probably try to mix it up a bit next week - I have things to do at home but also worry my DD will find it confusing with me and nanny at home and possibly me at home trying to do jobs, so will try to spend "quality time" at home and do the jobs when she is out at pre-school/classes/playdates etc. I do find when she is really full on then working is actually easier than finding the energy to keep up with her, so very in awe of the SAHMs suffering HG. I think the TV babysitter would be in very strong use if I was in that position.

Really sorry to hear about the recurrences Blondes. It does seem unfair when you are so far through. And yes, soap not pleasant but definitely better than monkey-shit Grin
