I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Lucinda - just seems to be pregnancy hormones make sweet things taste vile, and HG means they don't sit well in stomach. Tend to vomit them up and the sugar makes it burn on the way up. Collecting piles of treats for September, but am very sad that I won't be having cake for my birthday 😞

Waves to all.

fourcorneredcircle · 09/04/2017 08:04

Morning all.
Holly did you manage to get ondanestron? Was the GP helpful?
lemon zero calorie cake chips, crisps, Coke, toast and butter is the only upside to HG. I'm 32 weeks on Tuesday and have gained a staggering 4lb. Look on the bright side and all that ;)
DH and I went to our first NCT class yesterday. There was a sharing lunch organised. I got very defensive about a french loaf... everything else look lovely but... yeah... No. now we are on a little mini break in Northumberland. Just ordered a child's portion of porridge as a sacrificial breakfast before I tuck in to the poached eggs I really want in about half an hour ;) I've started throwing up the first thing I eat/drink everyday (In addition to the waking bile run!) but I rather like my new work around. Also, I get double breakfast...

Disabled loos are the best for throwing up in. Privacy

You can buy a radar key off eBay for £2 - best investment I made. Apart from my sexy slippers !!!

Tho one loo I was holding my hair back and let go on kid and hit me on the head - saw 🌟🌟🌟

It rebounded off the padded pillow for disabled

So always check the padded seats before letting go of lid !!

LucindaE · 09/04/2017 09:58

Blondes Grin about that fine piece of loo advice - but Sad about your head hit by a seat!
fourcorneredcircle I am all admiration about Hyperemesis sufferers who actually manage to go on holiday - and a pity one doesn't get a break from the scourge, too - and to continue to eat. Porridge? I regard that as very brave - along with any who dare venture on pasta - but then I don't like it anyway - and others may find it a very bearable.
I hope everyone is coping today...I think by the end of the day I must do a new thread, and on that one, I will put up the Pink Castle I had from Blondes.

Morning all. Couldnt get an appt until Wednesday so no luck as of yet. Ive ditched the cyclizine and gone back to promethezine for now as it makes a marginal difference. I am at the stage where I no longer care about throwing up, I dont throw up everything so am keeping some things down, but the nausea greatly depresses me. We've come to the beach today to get out of the house and I regret it already. Feeling quite rough...

How was the NCT class four? I'm really looking forward to starting ours as we're pretty isolated where we are. I need some mum friends!

Hope today is a good day for everyone. Blondes enjoy your new baby in this glorious sunshine! Hope the swelling has gone down.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2017 12:35

@holly. That's how I felt. I went out for meals birthdays weddings coast even tenerife for 10days

If I was sick I was sick. And yes I was sick every day /time.

Lost every xmas meal I went to (4) total waste of money

Sick think 5/6 times at friends wedding

But life goes on. It's go out and be sick or stay at home feeling crap for 9mths doing nothing x

Lemondrop09 · 09/04/2017 19:31

Holly, are you using kept sticks? If you detect any ketones, I'd be tempted to find out if there's a HG day clinic near you (PSS have a directory) and submit yourself. They should be able to give you odansetron. It's a long time to wait until Weds.

I actually have a very good day again today. We enjoyed the sun in the garden with a mini BBQ which has stayed down so far and I enjoyed a lovely strawberry and lime alcohol free cider. I felt well enough to help clear up the garden, set up furtniture etc. Actually starting to feel human again. I'm convinced a big part of that is ditching the promethazine as much as possible, I can't describe how zombified it made me.

I know it's too soon to say, and I know I'll probably go backwards if I come off the drugs too quickly, but I do feel like I've turned a corner and I'm quietly hopeful that I'll be one of the lucky ones who's symptoms reduce early in the second trimester.

I really hope this lasts Confused

I am 7wk 3days and have been having constant severe nausea 24/7 for the past 10days. I have ended up having time off work as I am to I'll to do move. I really want to enjoy this pregnancy as I miscarried last Xmas.
Gp has prescribed me cyclizine, I have been taking it 3 days and I have managed to eat my first meal tonight...Not a great deal but I managed some! I'm really hoping this nausea stops soon xxx
