I'm not bothering with antenatal classes this time, did a day "parentcraft" workshop from council last time that was a bit rubbish and having read what the nct do it didn't feel like anything I needed for second one.

I am however going to book on to daisybirthing if I can. My friend did it and said it was really good, hypnobirthing elements but practical advice too and not too hippyish.

oliversmummy26 · 02/03/2017 09:27

purple from what I've read, they like to do ELCS at 39 weeks...I've been looking in to it as I would like to go for that rather than VBAC, but keeping my options fairly open for now...

I don't think I'll bother with antenatal classes this time, I did NCT last time and the classes themselves weren't that useful to me other than to make mum friends and I'm planning on going to lots of baby groups for that when baby's here..

Into proper maternity jeans today but still trying to hide bump with a baggy shirt, as not telling for another couple of weeks yet..

knorrig · 02/03/2017 10:04

Not been on in a few days.

Sorry to hear that Alb, I really hope you got some good news yesterday, can't imagine how scary that must have been.

purpleviolet1 · 02/03/2017 10:04

Thanks for the advice ladies!

Second last day at work and I feel deflated? Got so much to look forward to, new baby and hopefully new house but feels so strange that I probably won't come back to the same role at work and I am going to miss the work routine if you know what I mean. Having an odd day so far.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 10:13

purple how exciting. is this your first?

i think i was anxious about being off for maternity due to being so used to the routine of work but actually you just make a new routine and then stress about changing it when you go back haha hope you are enjoying your last day(s).

i had my 12 week scan and consultant appointment yesterday. baby is there with heartbeat and moving around but wouldnt play ball for screening so have to go back a week on Monday.

Was dating behind again but babies head was tucked into its chest. lifted slightly and changed 2 days so i imagine if in the right position i would have been measuring fine and sonographer agreed.

i have been inspecting and inspecting the scan and the nuchal transcluency, of it is where i think it is, is looking on the large side so i am shitting myself. i wonder if it may change between now and next scan though. she couldnt measure because babies crown to rumo measurement was on the minimum for taking the measurement so i hope im worrying about nothing.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 10:14

pretty sure its a girl too very obvious fork nub Grin

TheLegendOfBeans · 02/03/2017 10:34

Am here singing the praises of the NHS - my utterly brilliant local hospital have given me an early scan on the 16th March.

I'll be 9w by then. In my previous pregnancy the foetus had stopped developing at 6w and my m/c came on five weeks later.

Because of how bad the mc was they've put me in for this early scan even though I don't technically qualify.

I told the receptionist I loved her. At least twice. So only 14 days to go until I get an induction of what's what. [prays]

MrsK8541 · 02/03/2017 10:36

Hi ladies, I haven't had a chance to read the posts from the last few days, but have just seen you've seen baby ginger, so fab news!!
I'm just dropping in as I'm sat at school absolutely petrified for my scan which is at 11:40. I'm so anxious, and I'm worried that they're going to be running late and I'm going to get even more anxious! We saw baby last week and all looked good, so I have a little reassurance, but I'm still petrified!!! How long did you have to wait for the scan once you arrived ginger?

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 10:44

great news legend will soon come round!

mrsk hope evertyhing goes well. i had about a 20-30 min wait. my heart was pounding when i laid on that bed lol she did show me baby pretty quickly which was good.

consultant appointment yesterday too. was in hospital for 9.45 and left at 2.00pm!!!

Alb1 · 02/03/2017 10:57

ginger great news on the scan Smile

mrsk good luck today

Fetal medicine finally phoned with an appointment yesterday afternoon for today, so I'm still waiting to find out anything, I've never been so stressed in my life! 24+4 today so baby is viable but it's far too early to safely come now, I just hope they have some proper answers and things havnt got much worse in the last 2 days Confused

oliversmummy26 · 02/03/2017 11:03

ginger great news that baby looked good. I wouldn't worry about the NT for now if they haven't been able to measure it. What looks big on a picture may not be when it's measured. Is it 3.5mm and less is considered normal?

legend that's amazing news, so pleased for you and something to look forward to which isn't so far away Smile

Just took a call from an unknown number on my mobile thinking it might be the hospital...it was some indian guy looking for me (with maiden name) and a postcode I haven't lived at for over 4 years! When I told him no he just hung up on me! Got back into the office and I'm shaking as was so worried it was going to be bad news!...I'm telling myself that if I hear nothing by Friday we're going to be low risk...so we'll see

purpleviolet1 · 02/03/2017 11:04

Yes my first ginger, massive congrats on your scan! That's great news. Yes sounds like position of baby more than anything else.

Good news about your scan legend!

Mrs k all the best for your scan!

Alb thinking of you and all the best for your appt. please do let us know how it goes. Hopefully the fact that they've identified it early is absolutely massive.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 11:18

thanks everyone.

alb will be thinking of you this afternoon. i remember how nerve wracking these kind of appointments are with my son. you are a good gestation, hopefully they can do something if need be.

i glimpsed a story on the dm today about a baby born at 23 week and undergoing bowel surgery and i am assuming things went / are going well if it made the news.

will be thinking of you and sending lots of luck your way.

olivers.doubt it is hospital because you check all your contact details when you go, i know we do at every appointment. im waiting for a call about an infection, they suspected i had one yesterday from urine sample.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 11:20

ahhh you will be fine purple when i went on maternity after my son was stillborn i found lots to fill my day even without a baby (although we stupidly got a puppy haha).

i got into a nice routine of cleaning and doing nice teas,i was lost when i went back to work and couldnt clean bathroom on x day etc my house had never been so clean haha!

purpleviolet1 · 02/03/2017 12:24

Thank you. That must have been so incredibly tough. The strength of the women on this board totally inspires me.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 12:38

it was but i have lived to tell the tale. its nice to be able to support other people who go through it - if one good thing was to come from it all.

littlepooch · 02/03/2017 12:39

That's good news re the scan ginger - hopefully baby is playing ball at the next one and they can get all the measurements and give you some reassurance.

Best of luck alb today, I hope they are able to give you some answers and an idea of what happens next.

legend that's great you've got a scan! Hope the time goes quickly for you.

purple you will soon get into the swing of it. It's a bit strange at first but in the end I found it harder going back to work after mat leave!

I'm still waiting for my results. Nothing. I can't actually remember how long they said it would take but it's over a week now. I'm sure with DD they came within the week. I feel so tense, I just want to know either way. I feel like I can't relax until I know.

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 13:05

pooch i would guess low risk now due to the info on the nhs site about the 3 day mark. no news is definitely good news.

TheLegendOfBeans · 02/03/2017 14:11

pooch why don't you give them a call? After my experience this morning the worst that can happen is you're told to wait more.

oliversmummy26 · 02/03/2017 16:12

Got my results through today, I'm very impressed with my hospital getting them to me within 5 days of scan! Got 1 in 2767 for down's and 1 in 20000 for edwards and patau's. I'm happy with that, particularly as it's a better result than I had with DS 5 years ago!

So now have my 20 week scan date to countdown to and a VBAC appointment with a specialist midwife

TheLegendOfBeans · 02/03/2017 16:15

Good stuff olivers x

littlepooch · 02/03/2017 17:03

Great news oliver! I am going to ring tomorrow and see what's happened to mine.

littlepooch · 02/03/2017 17:03

Great news oliver! I am going to ring tomorrow and see what's happened to mine.

oliversmummy26 · 02/03/2017 17:06

I think that's a good idea pooch as it seems to have taken a very long time Confused

MrsK8541 · 02/03/2017 18:33

Thank you for well wishes, the scan was fine but I did have to wait almost an hour and a half! Thought the anxiety and worry would ease a bit after seeing baby all ok, but no, I'm still the same!
