Thank you ladies. Smile Emotions all over the place at the mo. I swing from imagining the worst to thinking I'm SO pregnant it must be twins. Gah!

jpeg28 · 24/02/2017 18:13

ginger I was over cautious and didn't get my hair done for the first 20 weeks Shock but it's completely fine to have hair dyed, just make sure the salon is well ventilated.

Smurf that's such great news about the scan!!

purple I remember when you got your bfp too and the tough time you and your family went through with your mil. So so happy for you that your baby is nearly here!!

Welcome Alex and so sorry for your losses. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!

olivers good luck for Monday, I was worried the stretching feelings at around 12 weeks... it's just our bodies stretching out I guess.

32+3 today.... getting excited but also scared that the end is in sight!!

TheLegendOfBeans · 24/02/2017 19:41

Bonjour Alex

olivers and others thank you for your posts. My back is all achey but not in a period way (good) and it's the only "pregnancy" feeling I've got (so, good) but it actually feels like my pelvis is trying to pull away from my spine - horrid I know but it's the only pregnancy thing I can remember having clearly with my DD.

I also wake up in the mornings with a sore coccyx, like I've just fallen arse first on the ice or something.

Xx

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 24/02/2017 20:13

Welcom alex and congrats
Great news for you too smurf

ginger I dyed my hair (never use a hairdresder) all through my first pregnancy and have done/will be with this one too, just make sure you've got good ventilation.

For those with period like aches and pains, I had these a lot up til about 11wks, especially in the earlier weeks. It freaked me out as when the spotting turned to proper bleeding on my second mc I had sudden back cramps just like my period pains. However it seems it is perfectly normal and very common.

I also had a horrendous bad back between 8-10 weeks where it was actually hard to walk but one day it just pinged back and was fine again (thank goodness!).

Today I feel rubbish though, tired, headachey, emotional and generally woozy and a bit nauseous. Had really bad head rushes every time I stood up at work today which was horrid too. Midwife said bp was very low at my 16wk apt on weds but I forgot to ask her the numbers so don't know if it was lower than my normal low or not.

Anyway sorry for the little whinge just feeling a bit worn out with all that on top of digestion not functioning well. Trying to see it as positive, I must still be pregnant signs.

Hope everyone else is well and looking forward to nice weekends.

grainmum · 24/02/2017 20:29

Quick question, those who've had bleeding and everything was OK, what was the cause of the bleeding? I'm assuming 11w is too late for implantation? Still a bit of dark loss at times today. Flip between thinking if I was miscarrying why would it intermittently settle, wouldn't it just get heavier, and then thinking it must be over all my other symptoms have gone. Still holding out for scan planned next Friday as at least we'd get a definitive answer at that stage. My theory is, if I had a scan today there may be a heart beat but what if the bleeding is just things starting to go wrong?

purpleviolet1 · 24/02/2017 21:16

Thank you jpeg Smile
Welcome alexx textbook sounds good!!
Oliver all the best for Monday!

I'mgonna i also suffer from low bp and I do find keeping well hydrated helps. Hope you feel better soon.

To those with stretching / period pains I had a lot of those in this pregnancy between 6-10 weeks.

Grain mum - I had spotting at 9+4 where they said they saw a haematoma. Lasted until 11+ weeks with a few clear days and then at exactly 12 weeks I had a red bleed which lasted a few hours. I really thought it was over. Scan didn't show anything. I continued to spot until 14+ weeks on and off. At a private scan at 18 weeks the sonographer said the placenta was slightly covering the cervix so that could explain the bleeding / spotting I had. No issues at 20 week scan.

purpleviolet1 · 24/02/2017 21:19

Grain mum posted too soon. Like me it could be likely that cervix is covered by placenta and bleed is coming from there. They can't always identify it properly on the scan but I think that's what I probably had from the first spotting I had at 9+4. Fingers crossed for you. Xx

Popcorn1979 · 24/02/2017 21:29

Grain - my bleeding was at 8 weeks and was a haematoma as well (like purple) there were two actually and one is still there so they said not to be worried if it happened again (11 weeks now). Midwife said at this stage a mc would very, very likely have pain as well and also bleeding would get steadily worse so fingers crossed for you!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 24/02/2017 21:59

Thanks purple
Can't help there grain as I only had very light intermittent spotting that was given no cause for. Crossing my fingers for you though.

Gingerbreadmam · 24/02/2017 22:32

thanks for dye advice. booked in next sat.

my bleed was implantation around 6-8 weeks then bit more at 9 weeks for a few days.

grainmum · 24/02/2017 23:11

Thank you all ladies once again. Maybe it could be a haematoma for whatever reason. If so I hope my bleeding doesn't go on for as long as you purple - I think I can cope for a week, not sure after that!!!

purpleviolet1 · 25/02/2017 07:48

It was really stressful grain.. I tried to just take it one day at a time...but I had scan at EPU at 9+4, and then just quick glance scan with obstetrician to check for heartbeat at 11+4 weeks, 12 weeks, dating scan at 12+3 and another mini glance with obstetrician scan at 14 weeks at which point I bought a Doppler! Private scan at 18 weeks, detailed scan at 20 weeks and growth scan at 32 weeks and one coming up at 36 weeks.

purpleviolet1 · 25/02/2017 07:48

9-14 weeks was limbo.

grainmum · 25/02/2017 09:19

There's a pattern emerging, a bit more brown stuff this morning, seems to be something collects while I'm flat all night then passes when I stand up in the morning. Definitely brown and so far a bit less today. At no point enough to soak even one sanitary towel in 24h. I think I should go with the positivity theme of the thread!

SayItIsntSo1 · 25/02/2017 09:19

Morning! Lots of chat to catch up on.

Welcome Alex! You're in the right place, lots of support here.

Grain fingers crossed everything stays clear for you. Is your scan Friday?

We have our scan and harmony test on Thursday next week (will be 10+4 hopefully). Nearly caved and booked something privately for this weekend as I freaked out yesterday about not feeling tired enough the last couple of days and how that must be a bad sign. Then I reasoned if wouldn't change the outcome so I need to sit tight. 5 more days, which I am counting down on my pregnancy vitamin packet Blush.

I am struggling to find work clothes that hide my bloat. Seriously at risk of wearing the same 2/3 things on repeat for the next few weeks! I just don't want to get my maternity things back out yet. Only have one pair of jeans that fit too... it's going to be a long few weeks. But hopefully worth it!

Hope everyone has lovely weekends planned. We have my sister and her boyfriend over so dd is over the moon at having her auntie to play with Grin.

Right, now I must go finish the presentation slides for work that I couldn't face doing last night...

grainmum · 25/02/2017 10:54

say yes scan Friday. So pleased that our scans are finally coming round.

jpeg28 · 25/02/2017 11:06

grain that's really positive that it's not enough to soak and pad and it's brown! Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!!

Feeling bloody massive today and have nothing to wear anymore. Angry don't want to buy any more maternity clothes but also thinking that I still have 7 weeks left so what will I wear?!!

AmyB1986 · 25/02/2017 11:09

Hi all hope you're all ok...

Grain I had a lot of bleeding with dd1 in the first tri but mine was bright red and more than just spotting. Brown they always say is better than red. Fingers crossed for you.

6 weeks tomorrow for me, weeks are dragging badly. So far have only mild nausea, saw boobs and a constant urge to wee! Have been suffering a bit with making a bm and had a panic yesterday when I went to the loo and there was blood but it wasn't from that area it was my bum! Oh the joys of being pg, I forgot about all this!
Been feeling really down in the dumps the last few days, don't know why.

Tooth ache had gone though, I didn't take the cocodomal in the end just suffered through it. I think a poppy seed had gone in between my teeth and that's what was causing the pain.

Booked myself a private scan for 31st march, should be 10 weeks by then. Did ask cautiously if I can get my money back if anything happens which I can. Very pessimistic still just can't get my hopes up at all. Ovia pregnancy keeps giving me little developmental milestones, my chicklets heart has probably started beating by now. I'm thinking 'has it though?'

Get lost anxiety!

SayItIsntSo1 · 25/02/2017 20:50

JPeg I remember feeling like that with dd. I think I just lived in leggings and jumpers or PJs for the last few weeks.

Amy the first few weeks go so slowly! The 31st of March will hopefully be here soon enough. Really impressed you're holding out until 10 weeks and if everything is at that point then it may be very reassuring.

I got my 12 week scan appointment through today, 16th March. Still seems an age away, just need to get to Thursday!

INeedNewShoes · 25/02/2017 22:08

jpeg - I've got the same issue with clothes. I've been wearing my normal jeans but with one of those bump bands designed so that you can have the jeans unzipped/unbuttoned. But now my jeans are too tight on my hips which seem to have expanded.

The one pair of smart maternity bottoms I bought was a pair of trousers for work from Gap. They're now too tight on my bump.

So I now have: one pair of leggings, one pair of hand-me-down jogging bottoms which aren't smart enough to go out in, and one pair of hand-me-down jeans which again aren't smart enough to go out in.

I too do not want to be spending money on maternity clothes if I can possibly avoid it! Quite apart from that, finding maternity jeans that aren't skinny and will fit my chunky thighs is a nightmare!

Moan over Blush

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 25/02/2017 22:34

Ineed and jpeg what about grabbing a bundle of maternity items from ebay to tide you over? That's what my sister did and what she got was fine for the money. Might be worth looking in to if you don't mind second hand?

I think I very possibly might (big might) have felt a little bubble poppy movement today. I'm only 17 wks today though so I'm thinking it's probably actually just my guts pinging around and I'm wishful thinking it. .

INeedNewShoes · 25/02/2017 22:52

Ooh that's exciting ImGonna Smile Its perfectly possible that what you felt is your baby moving. They say its possible to feel movement from 14 weeks but that for first time mums it tends to be later.

I first felt definite movement at 16 weeks. I think that after years of having a medical condition that made me very aware of digestion feelings and then a year of fertility treatment where I needed to be 'in tune' with my body for timing treatment with ovulation, I was able to fairly easily distinguish between baby moving and other possible causes of similar sensations.

I'm nervous of spending money on Ebay and ending up with stuff that doesn't fit. Buying trousers is difficult for me at the best of times because I'm short and stumpy! and buying tops isn't much better because I have stupidly big boobs. I've made myself sound like a heffalump! I'm not really; I'm just a bit out of proportion in the boobs and legs!

grainmum · 25/02/2017 23:01

That's lovely I'm gonna must be great to feel movements, you'll probably notice more now that you are tuned into it.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 25/02/2017 23:11

Ahh I thought it was from 17 weeks. I'm trying to remember when I first felt DD move and though I remember the situation I have no idea how many weeks I was. I shall keep my eyes out as it were over the next few days and hopefully confirm movements. Eee, makes it feel a bit more real and reassuring if it is.

Understandable re stuff on ebay. How about maternity leggings and some jersey dresses? Both nice stretchy fabric so more likely to fit than tailored trousers or something? Or H&M do a maternity range, though possibly not so great for a bigger boobed lady as they're bras only go up to D cup.

knorrig · 25/02/2017 23:38

My sis got me some maternity leggings from eBay and they're so comfy I git another pair, they were only about £6 with delivery.
