Thanks everyone, and I'm glad I'm not the only one with unexplained bleeding. I suspect it's cervix related, either sensitive or have done some googling and come up with erosion of the cervix...so it is more than likely dtd and irritating it..DH and I have both decided to hold off for a while and see how we go. Fortunately 12 week scan is only a week today, so not too long to wait to see baby again.

I have to remind myself that at 1pm yesterday baby was perfectly fine, despite a relatively big bleed that morning. It's highly unlikely that anything would have happened in the 12 hours following that when I had some more spotting, isn't it?? It seems to have (fingers crossed) switched to brown this morning on wiping so that's good news too. The fact that the sonographer said there was no reason for bleed on scan and cervix was closed reassures me a lot, so just have to have faith that our little one is still okay in there.

Midwife in an hour so I'll let you know what she says, as much as I hate it, I really could do with someone having a good look up my chuff to see what's going on in there! lol Grin

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 09:24

Say my symptoms have been on an off since about 9 weeks (11+2 today) some days I feel fine and am full of energy then others I will feel sick. Yesterday was awful but I think that was nerves and shock and today there's some nausea but no where near as much as I was having. Boobs are less tender too.

I have discovered though that I can't lie on my back for very long anymore, it gets very uncomfortably, fortunately I'm a side sleeper anyway Smile

Gingerbreadmam · 20/02/2017 09:40

olivers i think you're right and highly unlikely after seeing baby on scan yesterday anything has changed. i wouldnt worry but know that seeing blood is scary as f so you have my sympathies.

these 12 week scans are soon coming round, mine is a week on wednesday. just waiting for the scanxiety to start building.

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 09:57

I've had 3 scans so far this pregnancy and scanxiety was at at all time high yesterday. As we went private they turned the TV screen off until they'd seen a heartbeat and both DH and I breathed the biggest sighs of relief! I think he's getting more worried than me now! It's funny, DH is very different this pregnancy, I think because he saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks (which is when our previous baby stopped growing) he's realised just how far along that baby was and I think it's finally hit him that it was a baby, not just a bunch of cells as he thought. So this time round, it's getting more and more like a baby, we saw long arms and legs this time (it was standing on it's head initially!) and it was amazing, he's never seen anything like it. So it's nice to have him feeling the same as me to be honest Smile

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 10:57

Definitely got baby brain, just turned up for midwife appointment 2 hours early!! lol

SayItIsntSo1 · 20/02/2017 11:24

Olivers I played a blinder last week on baby brain! Left my gloves on a train, left my scarf at the Drs and forgot to get a chicken for Sunday roast in the shop Blush

Glad I'm not the only one with some fluctuations in symptoms. Only 10 days until my next scan but it may as well be 10 weeks away as far as my scanxiety is concerned Sad

littlepooch · 20/02/2017 11:50

Hello all. Gosh oliver how frightening. I hope the bleeding is tailing off now. Another one here impressed by dtd 3 times! We haven't dtd since bfp (im too scared and the doctor said best not to given my history) so I'm in awe! Hope the midwife can put your mind at rest. Gearing up here for my 12 week scan tomorrow. I am so scared. I have taken tomorrow off work as the stress of work and rushing there and back and dealing with my clients would tip me over the edge. Really praying everything is ok.

Gingerbreadmam · 20/02/2017 13:11

good look for tomorrow pooch sounds like the day off is a good idea!

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 13:28

Just back from the midwife, she seemed sympathetic, but not overly concerned..either that or she's a bit useless, which I think she might be to be honest. She tried to take my bloods in both arms and got nothing so has sent me to the phlebotomist, who can't see me until Wednesday. I think that's okay timing for them to still be used with my scan on Monday? Perhaps it will just mean that I get my screening results a little later..?

Bleeding seems to have tailed off almost completely now, just some brown when I wipe hanging around, so hopefully that will be it and we will not be dtd for quite a while I don't think!

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 13:30

In the meantime, I am feeling positive today I think that this little bean is a fighter and is hanging on in there...so here's our pic from yesterday...anyone any good with the nub theory? I want to say girl, but not sure if that's because we'd rather like a girl, we'd have one of each thenSmile

purpleviolet1 · 20/02/2017 16:18

Glad you are feelin positive Oliver and yes agree that it's likely to do with dtd! I am desperate for some action but DH is scared it will 'hurt' or 'frighten' the baby Hmm

oliversmummy26 · 20/02/2017 16:55

purple bless...frighten the baby?! DH is convinced it can't be him as he doesn't reckon he gets as far as my cervix, lol! I doubt he even knows what a cervix is!

jpeg28 · 20/02/2017 16:57

oliver that's a lovely scan pic! I'm useless with the nub theory... Bec was spot on with mine though!!

We didn't dtd for the first 13 weeks because of bleeding and previous MC and since then we have probably only dtd 6 times! And I'm 32 weeks!! Poor OH! I just feel so crap most of the time!! Maybe I'll make more of an effort for these last few weeks!

TheLegendOfBeans · 20/02/2017 18:48

In all seriousness, how many of you have received or read guidance that says abstain for the first few weeks after a previous m/c?

I'd really like to do the horizontal tango with DH but I'm scared rigid about doing anything...anything at all that could "disturb things".

Gingerbreadmam · 20/02/2017 19:05

i received guidance from previous midwife. this midwife didnt specifically refer to mc but bleeding in current pregnancy.

Popcorn1979 · 20/02/2017 19:13

Olivers - I had a big red bleed at 8 weeks and EPU found a couple of haematoma - scan at 7 weeks hadn't seen anything so I do think the quality of the machine might have a lot to do with it. Was nothing to worry about apparently so hope that helps put your mind at ease. It was red for about half an hour then brown for a couple of days then stopped.

I think I have my first ever dose of thrush. It is awful!!! Going to call doc tomorrow to see what I can do /use - have tried canesten but not doing anything but have had to stop progesterone as can't face putting anything up there!!!

I have only dtd also once since bfp (and not since bleeding), poor dh as 10+5 now!!!

Smurf123 · 20/02/2017 19:30

I had some bleeding yesterday evening it was red for about half hour only when I wiped (nothing on pad) and then brown after that and a little bit more brown today although it seems to have stopped now.
My husband and I had dtd yesterday morning could that have been the cause?
I had a mmc in August and I really want everything to be OK this time around :-/
Have phoned epu she has booked me in for a scan but earliest is Friday morning..

Gingerbreadmam · 20/02/2017 19:34

popcorn stick.them up your bum they still get absorbed.

ive been drinking probiotic drinks to.try and combat the thrush whilst using progesterone.

smurf likely dtd or even an implantation bleed. i bleed all kinds of colours and amounts for two weeks nothing ever heavy and that was implantation.

TheLegendOfBeans · 20/02/2017 19:37

Gingerbread for how long were you told to refrain from DTD??

Gingerbreadmam · 20/02/2017 19:54

until after 12 weeks.

i guess anything not penatrative is probably fine.

XxBecxX · 20/02/2017 20:00

Evening ladies, omg 3 times in one day, wtf lol
My OH would be happy if I flicked it let alone put it anywhere near me rofl 🤣
Poor man, we didn't dtd after bfp and to be honest while I still had energy we just did 'other stuff' wink wink.
Now I really can't be bothered 😆😆 I've participated in a bit of doggy style twice in the last few weeks but that's about it now, he can sod off anyway lol
Had my growth scan today 31+ and the little fatty is already 4lb 9oz, consultant thinks he's heading for 10lb 👀, they are definetly going to induce me 38 so that's good, just over 6 weeks to go!!
Having a proper mate with the diabetes, tried so very hard to keep my levels on target without taking the medication, I've managed it for 3 days and then failed on my breakfast this morning which is most annoying as it's the same thing I've had every other day!
Got another app with the diabetes doctor Friday and I've got another growth scan for 2nd wk in march.
They are taking care of me, I'm just struggling to get about lol
Oh also new shoes I've apparently developed too much amniotic fluid, which he thinks is due to my sugars being out of kilter, xxx

Smurf123 · 20/02/2017 20:24

Thanks gingerbread that is reassuring to hear!
Another question....I've just run myself a bath to try and relax a bit and my husband says are you allowed baths when your pregnant? And know I'm looking wistfully at the bath wondering if it's OK to get in???
I've made it not too warm with some random feel relaxed bubbles in.... Would greatly appreciate your answers.. Google isn't much help some say yes some say no some say as long as it isn't too warm and others say not to after 12 weeks... #confused

fuzzywuzzy · 20/02/2017 20:33

Smurf baths are fine, so long as there's no essential oils in it that aren't allowed in pregnancy and the temperatures not hot have a lovely relaxing bath. I have had loads, they're about the only thing that helps my back!

You're advised not to have hot baths to prevent your core temperature from getting too high as that isn't good for baby.

knorrig · 20/02/2017 20:41

Hey all, just checking in.
Re baths Smurf I think okay as not too hot? I've avoided them as I only like them super hot! Also my sis said she googled and some radox's are best avoided due to what they contain.
Olivers - another here who's impressed with the 3 times...I think we dtd once in the first 12 weeks as I felt too sick to contemplate it most of the time! Since then it's not been more than once a week either!
We're in France for a few days and allowed myself to buy him a little outfit today...it's v cute, had been too scared to buy anything until now.
22+2 today

purpleviolet1 · 20/02/2017 20:47

Lol yes Oliver frighten the baby!! What a joker. Even if I try and feel where the baby is he gets all annoyed at me.

I think the general advice is that dtd is harmless , but it can't hurt to abstain if you are having bleeding or spotting.

A bath as far as I am aware is fine as long as it's not too hot that you have to dip in slowly and raises your core temperature.

For thrush I swear by taking a good probiotic such as bifidabiotics (can buy from Amazon or health shops)

Had an appt with diabetes clinic as well today bec, sugar is high after evening meals (totally fine the rest of the time) but I don't think I've been putting the insulin in correctly so it's not acting quickly enough. He said it shouldn't bleed and it has been bleeding, apparently means it's gone into the muscle and not the fat. I don't have any muscle my
Legs feel so flabby at the moment!! Anyway they asked to see me weekly from now on. Got another growth scan at 36 weeks. Scan at 32 weeks measured 5.5lb! Baby is breech but nothing else to report really. The UTI doesn't feel like it has gone so they sent a sample away again.

34+3 today and bump measured 35 so not too far off really. I'm worried it's going to be massive judging from
weight though Sad got to discuss birth plans nearer the time, few things to consider given that it could still be breech, I have a terrible thick cheloid scar already across abdomen causing me a lot of pain as it's stretching and potentially a big baby given the diabetes.

Hope everyone else is ok!
