Hello! I'm very glad to see me here too!

DH bloody knew...no shock/surprise/reveal he'd guessed already and was actually gonna offer to nip out and get a clearblue. AF has been 11/12 of the month like clockwork plus my non-wailing about it coming means he'd guessed!

In all honesty his reaction was different to what I expected but I have to remember losing the baby hit him very hard too. So some reticence is understandable.

BUT his mum is here this weekend and she's partial (like me) to a wine or six. Game's gonna be up in seconds so may as well tell her, eh?

Waited until 10w before telling anyone last time and look how that turned out.

Ps: pretty much no symptoms at all. Which is making me a bit twitchy.

Gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2017 12:30

legend i had barely any symptoms in the beginning and probs only ramped up a bit about 6 weeks but even then nothing major apart from tiredness.

just tell her. she will be pleased.

i told my parents the day we found out which i regret now as it was nye and my dad was so chuffed and drunk and told people haha! so more people know than i would like but its not the end of the world.

purpleviolet1 · 16/02/2017 12:43

Great news newshoes!!!

I have a button down nightie for the birth from mothercare. It was a two pack but I've only packed one. I opt size medium and it will fit me for the birth. For after, I have two button down all the way nightshirts from primark and I matched pjs with them. I got these in size medium too and they should cater for bump. My friend said to get something that fitted me at approx 5 months as that's probably about what the bump will be straight after.

Naschkatze · 16/02/2017 13:35

New shoes I just sized up - don't know if Primark do maternity?! I figured baggy was good!
Glad the scan went well. When we had my 36 week one the sonographer said, "we'll call the baby "he" but I don't actually know either." I think I believed her that she couldn't see, she told us to look away at one point but then said legs were in the way.

Hi all :-)
Hoping I can join this thread
I've been ttc since April 2015 when I had a miscarriage at 6weeks. Just got my bfp today after missing a period last month that my dr put down to pcos :/ been super tired, and extremely nauseous so decided to take a test today. I'm so overwhelmed and extremely happy and excited!!
I hope to share this journey with you all and hopefully be able to make some new virtual friends :-)

oliversmummy26 · 16/02/2017 15:07

Welcome Cookie and congratulations on your BFP!

purpleviolet1 · 16/02/2017 15:23

Welcome cookie! I think I recognise
You from the ttc after miscarriage thread. All the best!!

Cookiemonster19 · 16/02/2017 15:42

Oliversmummy Thankyou Hun! X

Hey purple, yeh I was on that thread a while ago! Thankyou! Hope your pregnancy is going well so far x

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 16/02/2017 19:28

olivers I'm wondering if people in my work are getting speculative about me being pregnant as I'm sure they must've noticed a gain in belly size. My work shirt is quite loose though so it's not super obvious yet. Think they wouldn't ask anyway as they know about the losses and know how hard I've found it. My line manager knows and one friend but I think I might just wait until it's blatantly obvious and not actually tell anyone. Haha.

Congratulations cookie and welcome to the thread Smile

Whatsername17 · 16/02/2017 20:29

Ladies who are packing their hospital bags - pack yourself some cereal bars or snacks in there. I had dd1 in the early hours and dd2 at 4.30pm. Both times I missed meal times and was so hungry in the night!

littlepooch · 16/02/2017 20:41

Evening all. Welcome to new joiners and congratulations! I recognise you from the ttc after mc thread. I found I needed way more big pants in my hospital.bag than I thought! Mum had to do a run to m&s for me! I did have an emcs and was in longer than I expected though. I always say this but dh secretly packed some lucozade sports bottles and boiled sweets and they were a lifesaver. I was so sick throughout labour and couldn't eat a thing so they really helped keep my energy up! Definitely recommend!

littlepooch · 16/02/2017 20:43

Forgot to say I'm on the countdown to my 12 week scan Tuesday. And today my bump has popped out! I feel like it's way to early to be showing but my mum thinks it's because my dd is only 14 months so maybe my stomach muscles might still not be back to normal. Which is quite plausible given I've done not a jot of exercise since she was born. I work from home but when I go in in a couple of weeks I think they'll guess - and I was planning to keep it secret until 20 weeks.....

TheLegendOfBeans · 16/02/2017 21:09

littlepooch I recognise you along with olivers, say etc. 12w scan Tuesday is exciting stuff.

Today I've had uncomfy twangy pains.

Logical brain says "implantation"
Illogical brain says "period"

I'm not even a week in from a BFP and going mad already [sigh]

Ps thanks Ginger for reassurance above Grin

SayItIsntSo1 · 17/02/2017 08:31

Legend I found the first couple of weeks after very hard (and still am). I think after you've been through a loss it's understandable for it to be a stressful time.

My day off today. Still done an hour of work already and will have to at least make a phone call later. But for now, dd and I are watching Cinderella (the old Disney version) while we eat toast in PJs. I'm hoping an easier start to the morning will help me feel less rough. Nearly chucked in the towel twice yesterday at work.

Looking forward to a nice weekend. We have our 10 week scan booked in for Thursday the 2nd of March so will be counting down to that for more reassurance. Less than 2 weeks now!

Has anyone else found they have insufferable itchy nipples? I can stand the tenderness but wanted to have them removed last night! Hmm. I read after 8 weeks boobs tend to stop growing until the 3rd trimester. Anybody found that to be true? Can't remember from dd.

Gingerbreadmam · 17/02/2017 08:32

my tummy is huge. i dont know if its the progesterone or bump. i thought id get away with it being fat but i actually look 5 months pregnant rather than 10 weeks. i have a huge scarf which is hiding it at work thankfully.

i was hoping to wait until 16 weeks with work but i wont have much choice at this rate.

oliversmummy26 · 17/02/2017 10:31

Ginger my tummy is exactly the same. It's not even just a little bump either, but a full on massive tummy! I look 20+ weeks at least! I'm not going to be able to hide it much longer and I think several people have guessed but have been too polite to say anything...I think I'm putting on weight around my face though too, due to all the food I'm eating to keep the nausea at bay, so maybe they just assume I'm getting fat and letting myself go now that I'm married! ha ha Grin

Gingerbreadmam · 17/02/2017 11:02

haha at least i am not alone.

i guess unless we actually confirm they can only speculate for now Grin

i think my eating habits probably gave the game away weeks ago anyway.

littlepooch · 17/02/2017 11:49

Was hoping my bump last night was bloat but nope. It's definitely a bump! I weighed myself and I've actually lost weight (no surprise I've been so sick) so that's probably making it look bigger. I'm going to use gingers idea of a big scarf when I go into work or see the in laws next weekend,

legend I had loads of twinges and pains and still do at 11 weeks. It's so worrying and hard to stay rational in those early weeks xx

Cookiemonster19 · 17/02/2017 11:54

Anyone have any advice on morning sickness? Haven't actually been sick yet but feel so nauseous esp when my stomach is empty by the thought of all food is revolting right now.... :( only thing I can stomach today so far is coco pops which I usually hate!! What can I do to keep the nausea at bay?

oliversmummy26 · 17/02/2017 11:55

Ginger I think it's my eating habits which are probably making them all think that I'm just getting fat!! Smile

INeedNewShoes · 17/02/2017 12:34

Cookie - eat little and often. Find things you can stomach (for me it was plain oatcakes) and every time you start feeling at all hungry/nauseous have a nibble (I was generally eating half an oat cake at a time between meals).

Also the nausea will make you think you don't want a meal, but for me eating a decent meal was my reprieve so do try to eat proper meals and start the day with a good breakfast (the sugar in the cocopops will mean that your blood sugar will spike then plummet which will not help your nausea as the morning goes on).

purpleviolet1 · 17/02/2017 12:44

Cookie Monster - try the sickness bands ? No experience but I found tiredness made the symptoms a lot worse for me so I really tried to stay well rested.

knorrig · 17/02/2017 12:57

The sickness bands were a lifesaver for me - def recommend them.

Exciting but scary reading about all your hospital bags!

22 weeks tomorrow! Do you all have the app that tells you the fruit/veg in relation to the size of the baby? I love seeing each sat what he is now!

littlepooch · 17/02/2017 13:09

cookie I've had terrible sickness and most of all nausea. I've found staying hydrated, just sipping very weak squash helps and trying to eat something. Even if it's just a couple of crackers. Otherwise you have my sympathies, it's awful.

DH and I can't agree on when to tell people. He wants to be able to tell people after our 12 week scan on Tuesday, I'd rather wait until at the very least we get the testing results back. In particular he wants to tell his mum. I really don't want to, she is the biggest gossip on the planet and telling her will mean the whole world and their mother will know. She first upset me by announcing when DD was born and her name all to everyone you could possibly think of before we had a chance to. She then really really upset me with my most recent MC, by telling everyone and bringing it up at a family birthday party in front of everyone asking me really loudly about it and whether doctors had said if I'll ever be able to have children again etc. I won't go into details but after that I feel very angry towards her and can't seem to let it go. I almost wish I didn't have to tell her after the way she behaved over my loss. Probably doesn't help my cause that my mum knows I'm pregnant, but I have needed her support and she hasn't told a soul and wouldn't until I told her it was ok to do. I don't know why I've written this, i guess it's playing on my mind and I feel like my DH is making me feel bad for not wanting to tell people. He keeps telling me - if the scan is ok, then it's time to move on being positive but I know even if things are ok on Tuesday I'm still going to be a nervous wreck.

So I suppose I'm wondering - when did you all/when are you planning to tell people if all goes well?

Gingerbreadmam · 17/02/2017 13:10

same advice here cookie little and often. fizzy orange lucozade helped me loads last time too. boiled sweets to suck on. lots of.people on our antenatal thread said crystallised ginger.
