Hi guys, I'm almost afraid to post on here in case I'm not really pregnant or it doesn't go to plan :-/ we had a mmc in August and had some irregular bleeding the past month or January really went to docs 2 weeks ago and she did a pregnancy test just to "tick all the boxes" nurse says looks like negative and as I'm walking out the door calls me back saying wait maybr faint positive. Doc thinks I had a chemical pregnancy at end of December but I'd had 2 positives and then a week after a negative weeks before I went to docs (just a slight fear of doctors even though mine us truly lovely) so it was all a shock.. Got sent to epu for a scan and they said it looked good for a very early pregnancy and she showed me something on one ovary which she said was also in line with early pregnancy and sent me away to come back in 2 weeks.. im due back on Friday. longest 2 weeks ever. In the meantime I've done 2 more clear blue digital tests the first Sunday week ago said 2-3 weeks and then another on Monday there says 3+.. I'd hoped that that would stop me being quite so anxious but it really hasn't helped I'm terrified I'll go on Friday and it will have gone wrong..
With my mmc I had really bad sickness doc gave me cyclizine (I think) and this time I've only really started feeling nauseous in the past few days but this time round it goes away if I eat.. Meaning I'm eating constantly doesn't seem to make sense for it to go away with food is that normal? Or I don't know I've I'm just imagining it because I'm so worried about the scan in Friday either.

jpeg28 · 15/02/2017 19:49

Welcome and congratulations Smurf and sorry for your losses. I think the nausea thing is different every time... with my MC I didn't have any. With this pregnancy I wasn't sick but just felt sick every minute of the day but like you it went away when I ate... so I ate ALOT!! Hope all goes we for you, good sign that they have seen a little bean on the scan!

Sayit hope the booking app went well.

Started packing my hospital bag today... I seem to have a lot of stuff?! I have a big hold-all and it's already full but I haven't got everything yet!!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 15/02/2017 20:30

So you're about 9 weeks at the mo grain?
I think it's pretty common for symptoms to ease off around then so try not to worry too much. Much easier said than done I know!
Try and keep yourself busy in the meantime, I found the wait for 12wk scan unbearable and the slowest time ever as it was all I could think about.

SayItIsntSo1 · 15/02/2017 20:44

Booking in was ok but felt quite stressful. We're going to do the harmony test in 2 weeks through the hospital and then the 12 wk scan. Midwife also said she expects them to want to do a 16 week scan after what happened last time. It's good they want to keep an eye on things but I am struggling to think past the next step.

I know once you've seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks the chances of MC are 2%, but it's like I've been stood in that room before with 98 other women and it was me that had the bad luck. I can't shake that image. I'm sure I've seen someone say on this thread that only having their baby in their arms will stop the anxiety- I think that's how I feel and that's a long way away.

I do think the scan on Monday helped, it's just all still feels unreal. I'd also like to stop the counselling I'm doing on a Friday as I want the day to myself or to spend with dd now. I think I'm kidding myself for that to be a good idea for the next few weeks though.

Anyway, enough waffling.

JPeg how exciting to be putting your hospital bag together! I seem to remember having loads of stuff in it for dd and then she popped out as such a diddy baby DH had to go and buy some smaller clothes as everything we had swamped her Smile

Hi Smurf, you're in the right place. Lots of support here! I am finding this pregnancy I just feel rough rather than sick per se. I'm keeping everything down but have struggled to think of much I want to eat, it's a bit of a chore but I manage Grin

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 15/02/2017 20:50

Sorry I missed a few posts there.
Thanks knorrig i have thought about non wired bras but I just hate them as they never feel very supportive.
Congratulations smurf, any nausea I've had was only eased by constant nibbling on fairly bland food like crackers.

Just take the essentials jpeg anything extra you need if you have to stay longer can be brought to you. With DD I didn't need or use half the stuff I took, not that I can really remember what I put in there!

grainmum · 15/02/2017 20:51

say the stats don't really help do they? At the end of the day it's either you or it isn't. doom yes I'm 9+6 today. BTW does anyone know how to put a new paragraph in on the Android app?

MoonlightMojitos · 15/02/2017 21:26

Hey ladies hope you're all well. I haven't been on for weeks so too much to catch up on sorry but welcome and congrats to all the newbies! Hope all is well.

jpeg how exciting that you've started packing! I'm planning on packing one overnight bag with the essentials and then also another one to keep in the car with extras incase were in any longer, would that help make some room?

The final stretch now purple and nasch!

I'm 25 weeks now, have midwife appointment on Friday so hoping all is measuring where I should be and everything (I presume she starts measuring from now?). I'm feeling loads of movement now though that you can even see so that's so reassuring and I feel like I can relax a bit now at last. Baby kicks me when I use the hand dryer at work 😂 is it cruel that sometimes I do it to wake him up?!

Hope everyone else is well.

INeedNewShoes · 15/02/2017 21:39

Brilliant to hear that everything's going well Moonlight Smile

My midwife said at my 25 week appointment that it was still a little early for measuring so I'm not sure you will be measured. You should have a 28-week appointment where I think the measuring starts.

You should get to hear the heartbeat though Smile

My baby's movement is so variable I've actually had an unnerving few days with it going a bit quiet but I've got a consultant and scan appointment tomorrow so hoping I'll be reassured.

Sah1987 · 15/02/2017 22:22

Smurf. The only way to stop me feeling sick was to eat little and very very often.

Completely different to my first pregnancy and 100% different to my MMC where I had to eat a lot and never felt right. So I second that every pregnancy is different!

MoonlightMojitos · 15/02/2017 22:24

Nice to hear from you too newshoes :)! Ah that's not too long away anyway it seems to be flying by now (but at the same time feels like I've been pregnant forever already lol). And it'll be nice to hear the heartbeat. Wishing you luck for tomorrow x

jpeg28 · 16/02/2017 07:08

Great to hear all is well Moonlight! I had my first bump measurement at 25 weeks and every 3 weeks since then. That's so cute your little one wakes up when the hand dryer is on! I would be doing it all the time!
Newshoes hope all is well with consultant today. My baby has no movement pattern at all and it's really worrying sometimes.

Decided I need a days rest today! Had such a busy half term and have barely sat down. OH has instructed I don't leave the house! I spent most of the night on the sofa too so I think I'll spend most of the day here too!

purpleviolet1 · 16/02/2017 08:30

Jpeg I recently packed hospital bag and have left all the 'extras' on one shelf for dh so he can bring them in as I run out of stuff. Things like maternity towels, breast pads, baby clothing, more pjs for me etc etc. I've packed enough for at least the first two days though.

INeedNewShoes · 16/02/2017 08:43

Those packing hospital bags, can I ask what you are planning to take for you to wear both while giving birth and afterwards?

I was hoping to get some bargain cotton nighties with a button front for feeding/skin-to-skin but haven't found anything yet.

Naschkatze · 16/02/2017 09:21

Jpeg there is still too much in my hospital bags too but as first plan is to have a home birth I'm not worrying about it too much. I packed two small hold alls and then the changing bag for baby. One with stuff for labour and one with things for a nights stay afterwards. Likewise, extras all in one drawer that has been shown to DH! I guess if we do have to transfer to hospital I will decide which bag to take based on what stage we're at... or maybe it will all just get dumped in the car.

New shoes I managed to find some black nighties with buttons in Primark. Also have dark coloured PJ bottoms and leggings and a couple of nursing tops/jumpers.

INeedNewShoes · 16/02/2017 09:33

Thanks Nasch - are they maternity wear or just normal sizing? If normal, did you size up to allow for bump? (I'm not sure how quickly the bump will go down after the birth?).

jpeg28 · 16/02/2017 09:52

Thanks for the hospital bag advice! I'm going to have another look at what I have today and think I'll make a back up bag in case OH has to come home to get more stuff!!

I have two pairs of pjs with button down tops. They are the most comfortable thing ever!! I think I'll get a button down nightie too. I'm planning on giving birth in the pool of all goes well so hopefully will just be wearing a nursing bra/nothing!

Gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2017 10:02

aww its lovely reading updates from everyone in the final stretch. Happy bag packing!

INeedNewShoes · 16/02/2017 10:10

My scan went well Smile I think the sonographer inadvertently revealed the sex of the baby! Having done the whole scan saying 'baby' this, 'baby's head' etc., when baby moved she said 'Oh he's wriggling away'!

So what do we reckon? Am I having a boy? Would she have got a good enough look to see the sex given she wasn't specifically checking that?

I feel excited about it being a boy, but I don't want to get attached to that idea if a girl is going to pop out!!

jpeg28 · 16/02/2017 10:13

So glad the scan went well Sayit! It could be a boy... or maybe the sonographer refers to babies as he's without thinking! How many weeks are you??

jpeg28 · 16/02/2017 10:13

I mean newshoes!! Sorry... preggo brain!

INeedNewShoes · 16/02/2017 10:14

I'm 28 weeks.

Completely understand re pregnancy brain - I've got a serious case of it Grin

Gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2017 10:45

newshoes i would be thinking it was a boy for sure. if you are quite far gone and it's a boy it will be easy to see haha.

INeedNewShoes · 16/02/2017 11:07

Starting to feel a bit pissed off that the surprise has been taken away!

Gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2017 11:23

well it could be wrong?

in my last pregnancy i had a scan at 9 +3 and the sonigrapher called the baby him. as far as i know they definitely can't tell at that point.

Did turn out to be a boy but that is a 50/50 chance.

i refer to this one all the time as him even though i already think its probably a girl.

oliversmummy26 · 16/02/2017 11:53

Legend! So pleased to hear from you and congratulations on your BFP, how did DH take it? Sounds like you have a busy few months ahead to take your mind off pregnancy anxiety for a while? Smile

Smurf congratulations to you too, my nausea is exactly as you describe, I've felt dreadful almost every day since about 6 weeks, never once been sick and the only time it stops is when I eat. Consequently I feel enormous!

grain my nausea started going a bit on and off at around 9 weeks. One day I could be fine, then the next it would be just as bad as ever. So I think it's probably the sickness tailing off finally..

I'm 10+5 today, have had 3 days of half term with my 4 year old and it's been so lovely to spend some time with him. He's been a little star - yesterday I came downstairs and he'd emptied the dishwasher for me! I've been mostly exhausted, and feeling rotten again, so sickness still not quite gone yet.

I have MW appointment on Monday to take my bloods for the screening tests then 12 week scan a week later on 27th. Can't wait!

I keep feeling my excitement trying to bubble up, and I am feeling a lot more positive than I was, no more weird discharge or spotting and can definitely feel a hard bump above my pelvic bone. Wierdly, when I lie on my left for a while, then roll onto my back it feels like baby has moved to the right side, and there's a big orange sized bulge there...sonographer did say that baby had come from my right ovary so maybe that's why. It's almost like it's floating to the top when I lie on my left! Grin

Just want to tell everyone now, work is constantly asking me if I'm pregnant, so far only my line manager knows and DS patted my tummy the other day and asked me what's in there! So I think a few people are suspecting if they haven't guessed already. If a 4 year old is convinced there's a baby in my tummy then I bet my mum is too!!
