Yes agree that the hardest thing is the stress!

jpeg28 · 13/02/2017 08:30

Sayit hope all goes well today, will be thinking of you.

Can I ask some advice on washing baby clothes etc?... I'm planning on doing it today, do you just use non-bio and do a quick wash?? Also should I keep pure white stuff separate from pastel colours? Sounds a ridiculous question but just don't want all the lovely white things to not be white before he gets to wear them!!

purpleviolet1 · 13/02/2017 08:45

Lol jpeg I'll be doing the same as soon as ML begins. Watching with interest..

Naschkatze · 13/02/2017 08:48

JPeg I always use non bio anyway but yes I think that's what's recommended for babies. I did a normal cotton wash on 40 degrees with most things in together. I just took out anything with dark colours in the pattern and put in a couple of those colour catcher sheets just in case!

jpeg28 · 13/02/2017 08:55

Thanks Nasch I'll get washing!!

Macauley · 13/02/2017 08:58

jpeg if you have clothes washing plans do it now! I had grand plans to wash all madams clothes before her arrival (with non-bio) but kept putting it off as thought I had loads of time. Then she decided to arrive at 37 weeks and I ended up going to hospital with her clothes chucked in a bag with the tags still on!

jpeg28 · 13/02/2017 09:00

Thanks Macauley... I have just detached everything... he has more clothes than me!!
I'm going to get it done this week while I'm on half term, but need to pack hospital bag too! Feels really scary doing that!

SayItIsntSo1 · 13/02/2017 11:47

Checking in to say scan went well! They dated me at 8 weeks and we saw what they said was a 'good, strong heartbeat'. The Dr let me have a little cry after she'd confirmed everything was ok. Smile

No more scans until 12wks now but thinking we might pay for the harmony test at 10wks and do a scan then too. The fact they put me a couple of days forward helped as I think even by now my MMC wasn't quite right for dates.

It all still feels quite surreal. My DH also had a little cry, he's been so positive for us both he hadn't realised everything he was holding back.

Hoping to be cautiously optimistic now!

Gingerbreadmam · 13/02/2017 12:03

great news say really pleased for you.

yes i think it's non bio. have fun washing and putting away. wont be long until they're being worn! exciting.

all same here today but i have a more what will be will be attitude.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 13/02/2017 13:15

Congratulations sayit, so glad for you.
I had a little burst of happy tears when I had my early scan too, it was such a relief to see that little hearbeat fluttering away.
Dr commented it was nice to see happy tears!
My scan was at 7 weeks and I found the wait til 12 weeks really hard so something at 10 weeks sounds like a good plan.
Never heard of harmony test though?

SayItIsntSo1 · 13/02/2017 13:48

Thanks doom and ginger.

The harmony test is a check for downs and other chromosomal abnormalities. It's more accurate than NHS screening and earlier. It can also confirm gender. Our MMC was because our boy had an extra chromosome and if he hadn't died we would have likely faced a late termination or death shortly after birth. The chances of it happening again are as minuscule as it occurring the first time but we'd rather have the opportunity to make decisions early if something like that occurred again. Pretty sad really.

Still not 100% we will do it but my DH seems keener than I and we already have DD and would want to consider any impact to her too.

So pleased for you Sayit!!

I've had a very hectic first day of the school
hols which started with my OH turning the bedroom light on and opening doors about 100 times! (Exaggeration!) but it's been quite productive, 3 loads of washing, food shop done, 3hr nct class and this afternoon having my whooping cough vaccine and tutoring for an hour.

Hope everyone is doing well Smile

grainmum · 13/02/2017 18:52

Great news sayit. Feeling pretty positive here, but looking forward to getting a scan date so I can start to think about the future in more specific terms

oliversmummy26 · 13/02/2017 18:54

sayit so pleased your scan went well!
ginger so sorry you're still having some bleeding, have you got your 12 week booked yet? Good to have something to aim for..
First day of half term here, went to a lovely small local soft play with a friend and told her, so nice to get excited with someone! Exhausted this afternoon though and have spent all afternoon on the sofa with CBeebies for DS, bad mummy award for me today!

Alb1 · 13/02/2017 19:01

Brilliant news sayit

Saw the midwife today to have a quick listen to the heartbeat, it never gets old! She's also referring me to the peri-natal mental health lady for my crazy pregnancy anxiety. I don't think it will help, nothing other than this baby being born healthy will really, but it can't hurt to try I guess! 22+2 today

grain how far along are you?

purpleviolet1 · 13/02/2017 20:21

Aw absolutely wonderful news sayit!

Can anyone tell me what braxton hicks feel like? I've been getting the odd period cramp type pain..

33+3

Alb1 · 13/02/2017 20:31

purple I find that my stomach and lower back muscles go very tight, bump goes solid, but they are painless. Not sure if they are different for everyone though

grainmum · 13/02/2017 20:38

alb I'm 9+3 today

Popcorn1979 · 13/02/2017 21:00

Fab news sayit!

Also love hearing about those further on - listening to heartbeats and braxton hicks....feels a long way away at the moment but letting myself feel slightly excited it might all work out this time! (Touching everything made of wood within reaching distance....!)

9+4

Popcorn1979 · 13/02/2017 21:02

Just seen we are only a day apart grain! Think ginger in within a couple of days as well and olivers is also quite close in dates? Find it hard to keep track but know there are a few sept 17 people on here!

Gingerbreadmam · 13/02/2017 21:29

yep im 9+3 today or maybe 9+5. 12 week scan booked for 1st march.

im going to ring go tomo see if can up cyclogest. im on 200mg twice a day but sure prism is 400mg twice a day?

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 13/02/2017 22:10

Oh I completely understand that sayit, forewarned is forearmed as they say.

I have midwife apt next week to find out screening results from 12week scan so a little nervous about that though we got a letter saying our risk of downs is very low so fingers crossed everything else will be well. 20wk scan is 5 weeks from today - feels like a lifetime away but trying not to think too much about it and hoping it will pass quickly.

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/02/2017 05:55

Hello chaps

This thread is harder to find than the Holy Grail!

Finally a BFP! I had a m/c at 10w in August 2016 and it really shattered my happiness.

So basically I'm clinging onto this thread like a liferaft for good news stories.

Telling DH tonight in the form of a piddly stick glued into a Valentines Card - that's romance right there, eh? Grin

SayItIsntSo1 · 14/02/2017 06:52

Hi Legend! Lovely to see you here. I think that's a fab way to tell DH.

My DH and I both had the grumps this morning so his card is sat on his pillow as he grumped off to work without coming back up to say goodbye Hmm. He'll feel guilty enough when he comes home and finds it Grin

Got to find some energy to go do my PT session tonight. My yoga teacher doesn't want me in class until I'm 14 weeks which seems an age! I hadn't even considered yoga may be an inappropriate exercise but figure if she's not comfortable teaching me then I'm glad I haven't hidden it.
