Staying posifrickentive- Thread 14 for ladies pg after mc

That's a good idea Bec thank you. Only thing is I need them to go into my records to see what tests I've already had done and talk about thyroid and progesterone testing and If it's worth them even doing it. Hopefully they can refer me to the consultant as well as the midwife so I don't have to wait until 16wks before seeing him. It's just so annoying that everything has to go through my gp! Never know though, they might step up and help out more this time round 🙄

Popcorn1979 · 11/02/2017 20:36

Holly - def push your doc and hope you get seen a bit earlier!

Ginger - I am going to call the doc on Monday and check they are happy for me to administer the progesterone the 'other' way!!

Grain - I am on it till week 16 but no idea if that is normal.

Bec - fab pic!! What a wee cutie.

Gingerbreadmam · 11/02/2017 20:46

yes popcorn worth an ask. i googled how it gets into.your body and its absorbed by the bloodstream so i guess it doesnt matter which way. i know obvs the front way is closer to baby but for me the bleeding panics me too much. a lot of ivf patients do it back way.

holly can you have a telephone appointment with gp? have you not been to a rm clinic? i got mine after a phonecall.

HollyMay84 · 11/02/2017 20:54

Hey Ginger. No I've already asked when I called to get booked in. It has to be a face to face appointment. Wouldn't comment on extra tests. Told me if there were any problems or if I started bleeding heavy then to go to a&e in the mean time 😒 RMC won't see us as we have previous children from previous marriages. But the consultant at local hospital I saw after my late mmc was brilliant and said any problems to get referred back to him asap. Only thing is my gp office don't like quick referrals and like going through all the tests/booking in first! Its fine, I'll have to wait. The thing is if it's going to go wrong early again there's not much I can do to stop it anyway. I know that sounds crap but that's the one thing I've learned and been told time and time again.

Gingerbreadmam · 11/02/2017 21:27

worst case scenario if you have any spotting and end up in epu they may be doing the prism trial so you can try that.

are you taking 75mg aspirin? i havent been to rm clinic either as i had an mmc and stillbirth but if anything goes wrong this time i will be referred however after my stillbirth they recommended i take 75mg aspirin as it's thought not to do any harm and a lot of people have success with it.

obvs i dont know if i have a problem but i am 9+1 today and have had two good scans one at 7 +4 and one at 9. i started progesterone at 8 weeks or 7+4 by my new date.

HollyMay84 · 11/02/2017 21:39

I'm not taking aspirin. I had lupus(?) blood test. I know it was checking something like thick(?) blood but can't remember exactly what. Anyway that all came back fine and I've read that if you take aspirin without having a blood problem it can thin blood too much and cause problems with placenta forming? Idk I was in a head spin at the time tbh and what I read could all be bs! The only time it was mentioned in my last pg was to maybe take it after 12wks. I'll ask doc again when I see him. When did you start taking it Ginger?

Just said to dp about pushing docs and he just told me to wait for appointment. I think he doesn't want to push and find out somethings gone wrong again. Ignorance is bliss and all that. It's only a couple of wks I suppose.

Gingerbreadmam · 11/02/2017 22:20

i'm like your dp holly.

ive not had any tests. i started it the day i got bfp. i think it's implantation it can interfere with?

ive read quite a few things on the internet where people have been to rmc and found no problems but have been told to give the aspirin a try anyway.

Gingerbreadmam · 12/02/2017 10:43

this pregnancy is really punishing me, i really really hope i get a good end result and it was all worth it.

i am bleeding, again! not a lot - pink / brown mostly when i wipe. it started thursday and i had a good scan friday so im sure it's nothing but just seeing it is so deflating and worrying. Really starting to get to me now.

grainmum · 12/02/2017 15:54

Oh ginger poor you, hang on in there, not long now till we get to 12 weeks, just think of all the positive reassurance from your scans so far xx

Gingerbreadmam · 12/02/2017 16:11

thanks grain.

it's so tough. just when you think it might all be ok you get another scare. i guess what will be will be and i just need to have that attitude. hang on in there little baby

SayItIsntSo1 · 12/02/2017 17:12

Sorry you're having a tough time ginger.

Hope everyone is off having lovely weekends and that's why the thread is quiet.

Question for those that had early scans at EPU, were you able to pay for a photo? Hadn't even considered it until today and remember the heartbreak of being given our money back when we sat in the side room after our MMC was discovered. I feel like I'm tempting bad fate but if it's good news it might be nice to have something to hold on to...

I've had a few more symptoms today and generally feel like crap so will be keeping everything crossed.

Alb1 · 12/02/2017 17:26

Sorry your still having such a rough time ginger how far along are you now?

sayit I was given for for free with my 6 week scan with this pregnancy. The baby was just a tiny circle but I still love it, and I'm building up a good collage of scan photos as I've had 8 so far. That sounds horrible with your MMC, our hospital makes you pay after the scan when you've decided how many of the pictures you want, makes so much more sense. Glad you've had more symptoms, keeping my fingers crossed for you

Gingerbreadmam · 12/02/2017 17:39

say all early scans ive had in this pregnancy and last we have been given the scan picture for free. there's usually not much to see which is probably why.

my scan at 7+4 looked like a little head and torso but more like a blob. my scan on friday at 9 weeks looked like a slug haha.

im 9+2 according to last scan or 9+4 by the one before. i know stats are all in my favour etc i jus wish this bleedng would piss off!

i say bleeding, it's not that bad at all but it's there and i can see it when i wipe so i can't forget about it.

im still doing progesterone up the bum Blush and have got some probiotic drinks today just incase it's a touch of thrush. i might go back to the other way of doing progesterone tonight or tomorrow and do all pessarys that way.

sounds silly but everytime i blow my nose i get a little bit of blood and that doesnt panic me. could all be to do with the aspirin?!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 12/02/2017 18:10

Oh ginger so sorry you're having such a rough time.

Re you're earlier post- definitely not just you. I feel so very pregnant already, like some kind of fat whale type thing. I haven't tried any maternity clothes yet as I refuse to accept I need them at only 15 weeks!

say we were given one photo from our early scan for free.

Gingerbreadmam · 12/02/2017 18:31

thanks doom.

im going to be in leggings for the forseeable i think. could do with some longer tops.

SayItIsntSo1 · 12/02/2017 18:50

Oh that sounds positive. I think we'll wait and see what happens and if it's all ok then maybe ask. I don't remember seeing the 'pay machines' in EPU but I only went in for my ERPC so it's all a bit of a blur.

God I'm nervous. I think I might cry. I'll have to give my mum a call tonight and hopefully she can talk me off the ceiling. My DH is being so positive I don't know what to do with that at the minute.

I almost did a CB digit test this morning just to see if it had stayed at 3+ but managed to convince myself waiting until we know something definite tomorrow is better.

I just feel like I want to hit the play button as I've been on pause for what seems forever between last pregnancy and TTC for this one. Here's hoping!

Alb1 · 12/02/2017 19:29

Good luck tomorrow sayit

Gingerbreadmam · 12/02/2017 21:06

good luck sayit.

i always find reading in bed distracts me and helps me get a better nights sleep. how far gone are you and what time is scan?

i was a big red blob for my first one this time.

be thinking of you and hope it goes great!

Popcorn1979 · 12/02/2017 21:37

Ginger - I had to stop taking aspirin for the prism trial (as hadn't been prescribed it) but had already reduced to taking every other day so maybe try that? No basis for thinking it has anything to do with the bleeding though but maybe?

Sayit - really hope all goes well for you, let us know!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 12/02/2017 21:40

Even leggings are not my friends right now. Everything seems to stop in the wrong place, pull them over my belly and it's uncomfortable on my stomach, underneath feels weird, middle just cuts me in two. Basically from my boobs to my groin is like an inflated puff ball and I feel horrible. Wish it was summer and I could just wear floaty dresses. Urgh back to work tomorrow and horrible tights. Might have to resign myself to maternity wear after all.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 12/02/2017 21:41

Oh and good luck sayit!

knorrig · 12/02/2017 21:43

Good luck Say, hope all goes well tomorrow.

I was a bag of nerves at my 20 week scan last mon and burst into tears in the cafe, it really is nerve wracking after what we've all been through.

And sorry Ginger you're still getting the bleeds, I hope it's nothing but understand the worry!

purpleviolet1 · 12/02/2017 22:52

So sorry it's all such a bumpy
Road ginger.. I can understand how you are feeling as after two Mc's this pregnancy started on a bad note with me coming out in a massive rash/ joint swelling, had scan at 8+3 and was petrified. Then from 9-14 weeks I had spotting/ brown discharge and a red bleed at exactly 12 weeks. It felt like a proper rollercoaster. But I do believe once we have our babies in our arms it will all be totally worth it.

Sayit, all the best for the scan. I'll be checking in and thinking of you!

Sending you lots of luck ladies xx

Gingerbreadmam · 13/02/2017 07:37

popcorn they probably asked you to stop to make the trial more controlled but i do still suspect it could be adding to the bleed. i was prescribed it though so think i better stick with it.

purple your story is reassuring thank you. i do certainly still feel pregnant so i'm not thinking the worst at the minute it's just sttessful.

thanks everyone else.

doom it certainly sounds like time to break out the maternity clothes.

say it thinking of you today.
