fuzzy I have to be referred by a GP. DH and I did consider it, but to be honest this is completely different to my mmc last year and the pink discharge seems to have stopped for now. So just taking at one day at a time and counting down the days until my 12 week scan (2 weeks on Monday Smile)

fuzzywuzzy · 07/02/2017 14:56

Oliversmummy if it puts your mind at rest then get a referral.

I had spotting during the beginnings of this pregnancy and thought that was it. I was preparing for the worst but this little one has held on.

Spotting is apparently very common in pregnancy according to my midwife.

I also had a MMC before this pregnancy and a couple of early miscarriages before that and prior to that chemical pregnancies.

I was too scared to even post on this thread during the early weeks and just lurked, it gave me comfort.

Everything crossed for you, try and take it easy and take every opportunity to put your feet up, not sure if it helps at all but it seemed to ease off my spotting.

HollyMay84 · 07/02/2017 22:55

Hi ladies thanks for the replies! I'm sure it'll hit me properly one day and no doubt you will all be the first to know because I'll be on here freaking out lol

Edens I remember you from the ttc board too. Sorry you're feeling so crappy atm. I hope it calms down for you soon.

Olivers if you're still worried in a couple of days I'm sure your gp can refer you given your history? Mine just writes me a letter to go to a&e with and we get to the EPU that way.

knorrig congrats on finding out you're now in team blue! Smile

I had horrendous stabbing pains this morning! Doubled me over. Hoping it's just a hollybean nuzzling in. I can remember them from all my other pgs but didn't attribute them as a mmc sign so hopefully still all good Smile

Popcorn1979 · 08/02/2017 11:27

Morning all! Have been keeping up with all your news, sorry for those feeling uncertain and congrats to all those with positive scans!!

Is anyone else on progesterone? I am on the prism trial so 50% chance I am getting it but (sorry - tmi ahead....) when they dissolve they make me feel like I have a lot of discharge - which makes me paranoid I am bleeding again so I am constantly rushing to the loo to check!! Is this normal? I am on these until 16 weeks and not sure my nerves can handle it!!! Maybe I'm not putting them in far enough?

Gingerbreadmam · 08/02/2017 11:48

popcorn i an on 200mg twice a day great to have a buddy.

i can confirm i feel like i am constantly peeing myself. TMI but using pantyliners and they are soaked come tea time.

i put my night one in my vagina before bed and my morning one up my bum lol. It's much better up the bum.

i also look 6 month pregnant and that's not even an exagerration. having no luck hiding it i dont think. i'm fat but it doesnt look like fat, it looks like a bump.

oliversmummy26 · 08/02/2017 12:16

Thanks Fuzzy and Holly...I think DH is more concerned than me at the moment, he was pushing for another scan last night...

It's very strange, because it definitely isn't spotting that I'm having, I have had on 3 occasions when I wipe after a poo usually (sorry) some very pale pink discharge, first time it was stringy and other two times it was like a lump of gunk! Other than that, there's been nothing. All clear every other time I wipe and all symptoms back to full alert today, nausea and sore, tingly boobs...so I feel like I'm still pregnant...I would feel like a bit of a fraud going to the gp saying I've had spotting when I don't think that's what it was.

GP gave me a swab this week which I'm going to hand in today, because if anything I think I might have some sort of infection, so we'll see what comes of that..

This has been nothing like my mmc, my symptoms just disappeared completely at about 8 weeks (which is when the baby stopped growing) and bleeding started at 10 weeks as spotting then full red like a period, followed by cramps and backache and I think I passed the sack within 2 days of the bleeding starting..so not too concerned just yet..

I'll let you know how I get on though Smile

Popcorn1979 · 08/02/2017 13:34

Thanks Ginger - good to know I am not the only one suffering from this!!!

Olivers - If it makes you feel any better, I have had pinky brown spotting for over 3 weeks now (stopped for a few days but back again now) and it is worse when I have a bowel movement. My initial scan showed nothing to worry about but my scan at EPU showed a couple of haematoma (and a lovely baby with heartbeat!) which had caused the one large bleed I had and she said might be the cause of the brown spotting. I think you are a few days ahead of me (I am currently 8+6) and she said if I was going to mc now, I would def have pain along with the bleeding. My previous 2 mc I had no pain but brown blood that quickly (within 12 hours) went to red (mmc had no signs of a problem apart from loss of symptoms) but they were both before 7 weeks. Basically I think you are right to keep feeling positive but def get a scan if things change or you get more worried. I am also choosing to stay positive for the moment - and hope I don't have to eat my words!!!

oliversmummy26 · 08/02/2017 13:47

Thanks popcorn that does make me feel better Smile

After saying that I wasn't going to bother and was feeling all positive, I have just got off the phone with my GP who has booked me a scan at the EPU tomorrow morning..

I feel like such a wimp for giving in, but the fact that she's done that and EPU have agreed to see me, makes me think that maybe it was a good idea I did phone...DH won't be able to come with me this time as he's working away and not due home until Friday, but we are both still fairly positive that it will be good news so I'm happy to go on my own..

Gingerbreadmam · 08/02/2017 14:10

dont know if coincidence or not popcorn but the day after starting progesterone my bleeding stopped. the sonographer did say it would stop so could just be that.

jpeg28 · 08/02/2017 16:04

Hi everyone... I haven't been on here for ages!! Hope everyone is ok.

Welcome to everyone new... congratulations. And I hope the first three months fly by for you so you can start to enjoy it a little. As others have said it does get easier, I remember curling up in a ball on the sofa for weeks on end being so worried, and even though I still worry... it's much easier now! Wishing you all a happy and healthy 9 months!

I hope all is ok for those spotting, as I've said to some of you before... I bled from week 5-13 with this pregnancy and now I have a (what feels like) huge baby boy in my belly!! It doesn't mean the end every time.

Knorrig I'm so pleased your scan went well and congrats on having a boy!!! That must have helped deal with your due date... even though it was a tough day I'm sure, nice to have something so positive!

sayit I'm so jealous of the skiing!! My OH is going in a couple of weeks... I'm worried my skiing days are over for a while!!

Lucky how are you?? Baby yet?!

I have missed out so many people probably so I'm sorry! Just on my way back from a school trip and I'm falling asleep on the train! Hope everyone is well.

grainmum · 08/02/2017 16:59

oliver pleased you have a scan. The waiting is difficult. I seem to have got my appetite back, which of course is making me wonder if it's all over, constant boob prodding to see whether they are still tender or not- not sure and I know it doesn't mean anything anyway. Then my mind runs away with me and I wonder how I would physically cope with MC at this stage - it would be more like the medical management of my MMC at 10 weeks, but at least that was planned and in hospital. MC last time at about 6 weeks was a bit like a period really. 8+6 so just waiting for notification of a scan date... got everything crossed for you oliver.

Gingerbreadmam · 08/02/2017 17:37

hope everything goes well tomorrow oliver and you get some more reassurance.

kep1979 · 08/02/2017 21:48

Hope all goes well tomorrow Oliver.

SayItIsntSo1 · 09/02/2017 06:28

Good luck today Oliver.

Jpeg no need to be jealous, turns out ski lifts and skiing gives me motion sickness. Never had it before so can only imagine it's some warped version of morning sickness Smile.

No other news here. 7+1 now and the nausea does seem to be creeping in. Boobs are still tender especially when I poke them to make sure they are. I'll take the crappy feeling if the little bean is healthy come Monday.

HollyMay84 · 09/02/2017 06:42

Hope all goes well today Oliver Smile

Random question that's come from my nights worth of insomnia... Do the midwives/Drs automatically check progesterone and thyroid levels or do you have to ask? I don't know if it's even relevant, I may be overthinking things Hmm

Gingerbreadmam · 09/02/2017 07:18

thyroid levels are checked if you have a high bmi. i know because mw told me this at my booking in Blush

im not sure if progesterone is checked over here but reading americam forums it seems to be standard there.

HollyMay84 · 09/02/2017 07:41

Thank you Ginger. We were going to leave docs and all the tests a few more months but the BFP popped up first lol

grainmum · 09/02/2017 08:06

Everything crossed for you oliver. Just realised breasts feel completely normal today. 9 weeks. Anyone else had similar?

purpleviolet1 · 09/02/2017 08:54

All the best Oliver!

Grain mum im 32+6 but I do recall boobs not being tender at around 9 weeks. I remember a conversation with my mum about it and she said it wasn't anything to go by, and she was right. By about 9 weeks the body is getting more used to the hormones so symptoms can tail off a bit.

Holly you would need to ask for thyroid test. I'm not sure if progesterone needs to be checked before bfp but again it would be on request. Not standard I'm afraid. Not in Scotland anyway....

Nothing new from me. Just getting that bit more uncomfortable now. Sugars seem to be high after dinner so need to phone the diabetic nurse today. They did say that I will prob been insulin Sad oh also had growth scan last Monday (when I was 32+3) and the estimated weight was 5.5lb! I was quite worried but apparently only a little over the national average Confused

Gingerbreadmam · 09/02/2017 09:57

holly i had mine tested november time luckily because.my bfp also popped up much sooner than expected but they did test again at booking in. im just fat!

grain funnily enough im 9+1 n boobs jus didnt look as veiny or dark this morning. maybe it is a thing?

purple hope everything is ok. That's a nice healthy weight. definitely speak to nurse even if just for reassurance.

i have a reassurance scan tomo. scanxiety not kicked in yet and luckily its at 8.00am but sure ill be a mess in the morning.

Gingerbreadmam · 09/02/2017 10:36

oh god, just been to loo and had pink wee!

i think my pessary slipped out last night so hoping its related to that, i also keep doing huge sneezes which are giving my stomache some jip so could be that? god i feel sick!

knorrig · 09/02/2017 11:44

Thanks Jpeg and Holly - has def made it feel more real now we can refer to him as him rather than it!

Good luck for the scan Oliver

Sorry you're still suffering Ginger I'm glad you have a scan to help - and that's good it's so early...mine the other day was 4pm and it was such a long wait!! Got to the hospital stupidly early and cried in the coffee shop as I was so nervous!

Gingerbreadmam · 09/02/2017 11:52

been to loo 3 times since and nothing at all. almost like i have imagined it. could have just been the last bit of implantation making its way out or an irritated cervix.

boobs still hurt, feel sick and looking 5month pregnant. see what tomorrow says.

i dont know how i would cope with a late scan. they should consider that with us worriers really.

fuzzywuzzy · 09/02/2017 13:31

Gingerbread that could just be really strong wee, have you been drinking plenty of water?

I had pink wee at one point scared the crap out of me and I spent the all day knicker checking that day. Thankfully was just dark pee. But I was paranoid for a while till I worked it out!

Gingerbreadmam · 09/02/2017 13:41

it was definitely pink fuzzy i literally did a huge sneeze on route to the loo and my full body feels the affects, i feel my tummy tighten and down there contract so im putting it down to that for now.

least i will know in the morning but im not worried at the min now i havent seen anymore.
