Wow great news about butterfly!! So happy for you after all you have been through.

Not on Facebook so missed it.

How many weeks are dino and nasch? I'm 32 today. Any others in between?

purpleviolet1 · 03/02/2017 14:02

Popcorn such great news!! Congratulations!

Sah1987 · 03/02/2017 14:09

Grainmum- I think that would get to me as well. A lot of people on this thread don't until they are 12/20 weeks. I certainly didn't. Now she's moving I can't help it!!

Just take each day as it comes, and ask to be referred to a miscarriage councillor/clinic if she's not supporting you.

My midwife asked first time, I got upset & she said would you prefer we don't talk about it, I said yes, so now she doesn't bring it up xx

Gingerbreadmam · 03/02/2017 14:17

As soon as i saw.your update popcorn i thought progesterone.

I bled 2.5 weeks. Took cyclogest first time wednesday night and the bleed has stopped. Now it could be coincidence that it would have anyway but im so glad not to be seeing the red at every toilet stop and crapping myself!

So glad things are ok. Still might be worth a phonecall to the gp what with your spotting?

Gingerbreadmam · 03/02/2017 14:19

I did have a huuugggeeee nose bleed this morning though travelling into work. Lasted about 40 mins. Dont know if its pregnancy related / asprin related / progesterone related. Hoping it doesnt happen again i couldnt stop it then a colleague told me to put my arm over my head which seemed to do the trick.

Had lots of nose bleeds but not that bad in my mmc pregnancy so stressed me a bit too.

knorrig · 03/02/2017 14:32

Popcorn - great news!!!

Grain - I totally get the detachment thing, I was the same, when I had the booking in appointment the MW asked what hospital I'd have baby at and I didn't know what to say.

Bec - sorry to hear you've had trouble, my best friend had diabetes in her pregnancy and all was fine.

purpleviolet1 · 03/02/2017 15:32

Hi Bex, I've got gestational diabetes as well as you know , I'm taking two metformin at night as it seems to be high after dinner and then first thing. Got an appt on Monday so see what they say next, they did say they might have to give insulin.

Have you had any initial chat about how to manage it?

I'm also aneamic and taking the ferrous fumerate which is making me
Constipated Sad

I've also been experiencing lots of heart palpitations, they tend to happen when I'm lying in bed and it's really quite frightening. Last two nights it's disrupted my sleep. Got an appt in 3 weeks time but I've had an ECG and even though heart is beating normally it's beating too fast (that's when I'm not having a palpitation)

Between the palpitations, and pain in around my big abdominal scar from the skin stretching and pain from my back where there is probably adhesions I am definitely over the second trimester highs.

LuckyinOctober · 03/02/2017 17:33

Aww congrats Lynsey and also pleased to read Butterfly has her baby in her arms now too. I'm hoping I'm next, I'm 40 + 4 and still reading but not posting much as it's all still going smoothly. My plan is to wait it out and hope for a natural birth, possibly in the water.

Bec and Purple sorry to read about the gestational diabetes and other health issues. It sounds like you're both receiving good care and hope you're looking after yourselves too xx

purpleviolet1 · 03/02/2017 18:39

Oooo we look forward to hearing your news lucky!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 03/02/2017 20:17

popcorn that's great news! Really glad for you, and good they could give you a reason for the bleeds too.

ginger asprin thins the blood doesn't it? So could be related?

purple I'm on the ferrous fumerate too and it's playing havoc with my digestion on top of the pregnancy. I'm just trying to drink loads of water always take them with a meal which helps little. Mainly I think my issues are pregnancy induced though as I had a break of almost a week where I ran out of prescription and I was still bloated etc so who knows.

Gingerbreadmam · 03/02/2017 20:54

Yes i did think it could be the aspirin. Sure its nothing to worry about anyway.

XxBecxX · 04/02/2017 00:27

God purps it's a flamin nightmare isn't it. They have given me the same iron tabs as you, 2 a day and not sure if it's related but today and tonite ive had a mare of a day with firstly breathlessness walking the brats to school then feeling very sore in the belly and feeling like I may be sick.
I've got to wait for my consultants appointment which should be Friday at the latest before I know what the next GD step is, strangely the consultant is also the top sonographer who I've already met which is good.
I had a growth scan at 27 weeks unrelated to the GD and the little bruiser was already weighing 3lb 2oz! I rang the MW in a panic and she said to wait for the results of the GTT before we address his fattyness lol so it's all a bit in the air what's going on right now.
In general my babies haven't been massive except for no.3, all have been induced at 37-38wks and have been 8.5, 8.10, the whopper 10.1, 7.3 & 7.10, so I know I can deliver the smaller babies but the ten pounder got stuck and it was really scary, also he was only 38 weeks so can you imagine if he'd gone to 42 omg lol (oh to add im only 5ft5!)
I'll feel better when I've been able to talk to someone and they give me a plan of action, I'm a bit of a control freak so leaving all my worries up in the air will just stress me out.
Have you been offered growth scans purp?
also butterfly offered some good advice tonite about eating oranges whilst taking our iron as vit C helps us absorb the iron more efficiently, much better if we could have a glass of fresh orange but I imagine it's too sugary 😩

oh the joys 🤣🤣

XxBecxX · 04/02/2017 00:31

I'm 29wks and my next scan is 32wks x

Macauley · 04/02/2017 06:49

lucky just checking in to see if you've had baby yet!!! Good luck when time comes Grin x

Whatsername17 · 04/02/2017 08:26

Do not take iron on an empty stomach - it will make you sick. With dd1 it took me a whole to figure that out!

llemma · 04/02/2017 08:36

Just wanted to say hi. I'm 33yo had a mmc last year picked up at first scan and i'm currently 13+0. Had the 12 week scan with this one on thursday and everything looks great but i've convinced myself it's going to go wrong again and can't get excited at all, i'm driving my partner mad as he's one of these 'optimists' ha. Lovely to see some babies here though! Thanks v much for having me! X

XxBecxX · 04/02/2017 08:45

You know wats that's possibly what I may have done 😩
I feel a bit better today but I'm starved but don't want to eat in case I feel gammy again lol

Welcome Emma, the anxiety will ease with each milestone you reach, promise!
I'm on pregnancy 10 and baby no.6, so I know a little something about how your feeling, watser mantra is one that we have all tried to live by in the early stages and that's 'today I'm pregnant' you just have to get through each day the best you can which isn't easy, you've actually done the hardest slog xxx

purpleviolet1 · 04/02/2017 09:02

How are you and baby willow doing whatser??

Bec, yeah I've been offered two scans at 32 and 36 weeks. Got the 32 weeks one on Monday. Not had a scan since 20 weeks so will be interesting...

Ilema welcome! And it's not unusual to take a bit of time to feel happy after a loss. Hopefully the next few weeks will fly in and when you have the 16 weeks appt with the midwife you will feel more optimistic. I was still being cautious but slowly optimistic at 20 weeks. I've had two losses, 12 weeks like yourself and 6+4 weeks. The support on this thread is invaluable.

HollyMay84 · 04/02/2017 10:30

Hello everyone mind if I join? I got my BFP this morning. I'm in somewhat denial but excited at the same time if that makes sense? I can already feel my self trying to get some distance between my head and heart. Sounds awful doesn't it?

This is pg #9/ baby #4 all being well. I've had 2 cp/earlymc. 2 mmc around 10 and 14 wks and a late mmc delivered at 19 weeks. I feel like I've got a way to go before I'm even close to being out of the woods!

It's lovely seeing some names I know on here from the ttc board Smile

I hope everyone's keeping well Grin

fuzzywuzzy · 04/02/2017 11:16

Hello everyone I let this thread disappear for a bit so much going on.

Congratulations Lynsey your baby is sooo gorgeous, gosh I love new baby pics.

I've had a gtt test Thursday gone, phlebotomist thinks it will be fine as the ginger prick test was good.

Then I'm told I get another blood test at 28 weeks to check for anaemia.

We never had this many bloods when I had my older dc 😩

I've also come down with a horrible cough/high temp virus thing and I can't take anything but paracetamol which is driving me crazy. The incessant coughing is causing cramps which is scaring me a bit. Baby is active tho so not panicking quite.

Hope everyone is having quiet uneventful pregnancies.

Right going to catch up on the thread.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 04/02/2017 13:30

Hello llemma and holly, I think we all know some of what you are both feeling. Holding ourselves fairly detached as a kind of self preservation.

Welcome to the board, you will find lots of support here.

fuzzy I've got a horrible cough/sore throat cold thing starting and feeling pretty rubbish today too. Going to have a very chilled out afternoon with a honey and lemon drink whilst watching the rugby. And maybe some ice cream if I can convince OH to go and get some Grin

purpleviolet1 · 04/02/2017 18:08

Welcome holly. Sorry to hear about your losses. This a great thread with wonderful support.

Thread is quiet today.....I'm having a soak in the bath followed by a massage from a local lady who is absolutely wonderful. I had planned to have a massage every month during pregnancy but only managed to fit one in at 18 weeks! Now 32 weeks so long overdue... hoping I'll have the best sleep ever.

Going to mamas and papas parents to be event tomorrow morning, hoping it'll be good and we can buy the rest of the hospital bag items so that's done and dusted.

LuckyinOctober · 04/02/2017 19:19

Thanks purple and mac, still nothing today at 40+5, but still hoping it'll start soon!

Alb1 · 05/02/2017 21:35

Welcome holly and your in the right place here, it's great for support Smile

Very quiet on here today, hope everyone's ok. 21 weeks today, nothing much to report!

lucky I hope things get started for you very soon if they haven't already

grainmum · 05/02/2017 22:48

I'm hoping the quiet thread means things are bumbling along uneventfully for everyone! Welcome holly and llemma. Sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes bex hope you get more information soon. Nice weekend here, though wondering how we will potentially cope with a newborn at the same time as a 3.5 year old who still wakes most nights. Maybe he will just be completely worn out as he will start school in September just before EDD (Ooops, poor boy...)
