Hi knorrig Smile

All is well here at the moment thank you Smile My next scan is on the 16th February (being monitored given my various blood disorders) at 28 weeks.

I'm feeling quite relaxed about the baby's wellbeing at the moment.

I am not feeling relaxed when I think about everything I need to do and buy before baby turns up! Grin (

Gingerbreadmam · 31/01/2017 13:52

alb i had the same experience with my son. We discovered he had passed at 27weeks at a routine scan but he had actually died around 3 weeks earlier.

I still felt movements. They were different but i thought he had just moved.

Dont blame yourself.

Im sure everything is absolutely perfect in there and as someone else said i think nhs guidelines say from 28 weeks.

Alb1 · 31/01/2017 15:06

Thanks, I'm hoping il get to enjoy movements properly at some point. I blame myself for my DDs death tho which is the main cause of it, when I noticed a change in her movements the midwife told me it was nothing, I posted on mumsnet about it and the advice was if the midwife isn't worried I shouldn't be either, so I never phoned back, I should have trusted my instincts, I new that midwife was wrong. But like someone mentioned I have lots of extra care this time so it's unlikely that they'll miss something, I just need to try and deal with my anxiety and hope the next 18 weeks to quickly.

Glad to see your doing well ineed Smile

Alb1 · 31/01/2017 15:09

knorrig that's lovely about feeling your first movement, is this your first baby? fingers crossed time goes quickly for both of us until the 20 week scans, hopefully we'll both feel better after it. I think il cry if they say that everything looks ok. Sorry for double posts, on my phone and it's hard looking back at people's posts

knorrig · 31/01/2017 15:29

Newshoes - glad everything has calmed down for you now! Good to have regular scans to keep you reassured, I'll get growth scans too (it panicked me when they said it at first but then I saw it as a good thing!)
Yes, I get that manic grin when I think about things we need to do/buy/birth etc, hehe!! I think after the scan next week, I'll start getting into it more and book some classes and stuff! Yes, still only told direct boss at work and the girl who works for me (she guessed anyway in the tiredness and sickness face) will wait till next week after scan before telling the rest - getting quite noticeable now though so wearing black everyday and trying to cover bump when I can.

Alb Yes, first baby for me :) yes, am sure I'll cry tears of massive relief too! Will you also be finding out the sex? We will so that's exciting too! Good luck for Thursday x

Alb1 · 31/01/2017 15:37

We already no it's a girl Smile but we're keeping it a secret from everyone in RL this time, it's so hard keeping it quiet! Nice having our little secret though Smile we havnt even told most of our family that were expecting yet so will get that out of the way after Thursday. Will you be finding out knorrig?

Popcorn1979 · 31/01/2017 16:19

Knorrig and Alb - hope all goes well for 20 week scans! Seems a lifetime away at the moment for me!

Olivers and Eden - so pleased for you and your scans! Lovely news!

Not a lot to report from me. Symptoms still not too strong, some nausea but nothing major just complete exhaustion! Nearly fell asleep at my desk yesterday and then slept 10 hours last night! Next scan is on Friday evening when should be 8.5......3 sleeps!

knorrig · 31/01/2017 16:59

Alb - Yes, we'll find out, we both wanted to know - if OH had wanted to wait I would have but he wanted to know as well.
How exciting for you having that lovely secret, I wish we'd have done that now but whenever anybody asked if we'd find out we said yes so think it will be difficult not to tell now! In fact, I'm expecting inquisitive calls and messages on Monday to find out! MIL has learnt how to knit so she'll want to know colours :)

knorrig · 31/01/2017 17:00

Thanks Popcorn I do hope the time goes quickly for you, the waiting it tough!! good that you won't have too long after this Friday to your 12 week one.

jpeg28 · 31/01/2017 17:31

Olivers it's completely normal to feel like that. I didn't really feel attached to my pregnancy until after 20 weeks. Up until then I was just convinced it would go wrong. Take each day as it comes and maybe after you've had your next scan allow yourself to buy something small that might help you attach yourself to the pregnancy?? The act that you saw a heartbeat is an amazing sign!

Edenslight that's amazing news!! So happy for you!

Welcome purpleparadise congrats on your bfp and so sorry for your previous loss. My pregnancy test was faint this time round. I waited a few weeks and then booked in with MW for booking app but didn't see the doctor to confirm. I think all they will do is another pregnancy test. Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

Alb good luck for you scan.... that's great you have felt some movement... I didn't feel hardly anything until 25 weeks! It must be hard for you after last time, but movement is sporadic that early. Easier said then done but try to relax if you can.Flowers

Knorrig that's so exciting you felt your first movement! It took me ages to work out whether it was the baby or gas. Blush

I'm feeling crap today... taught some pretty rubbish lessons and now feeling sorry for myself on the sofa. Sad I'm 29 weeks today and cannot imagine working for the next 10 weeks!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 31/01/2017 21:01

Congrats eden so glad for you!

purple my dr told me I didn't need to see her and to just book straight in with the midwives, I asked at the gp reception, they gave me forms to fill out and then a midwife called me to arrange my booking in appointment. The dr didn't even confirm the pregnancy with my DD, just said if it's a positive on a home test then you are pregnant. You might get a false negative but not a false positive.

popcorn I only had very mild nauseau early on and my main symptom has been tiredness. I feel exhausted all the time. It is marginally better now I'm into second trimester but still knackered.

Oh and horribly bloated.
Don't think there's any way I'll be hiding this from colleagues til after 20wk scan, which I would rather.

I'm feeling quite positive after healthy 12wk scan but nervous about blood results and anomaly scan. I was "lucky" in that both my mcs were early so there's no reason there should be a problem but it's all I can do not to expect bad news now.

PurpleParadise2016 · 01/02/2017 10:21

Thanks everyone, I took another test last night to put my mind at rest and the line is so much darker now!! I feel very positive and so so happy :)

MrsAlanPartridge · 01/02/2017 12:11

Hey all. I have my 16 week appt this afternoon and can't relax. Convinced they won't find a HB. I'm so detached from this pregnancy still, and that's making me feel guilty and even worse! Ok, big girl pants on.

purpleviolet1 · 01/02/2017 12:14

Aw I'm really glad for you purple!

Mrs - I'm sure all will be fine. Hopefully not too long to go now for your appt... I felt detached too, until well after my 20 week scan. Now I'm allowing myself to be 'attached' and yesterday opened a packet of vests to see how small and cute it looks! I think it's part of self preservation...

31+5

jpeg28 · 01/02/2017 12:29

Mrs I'm sure everything will be completely fine! I felt the same as you up until 20 weeks. Just couldn't attach to the pregnancy. Now I can't stop going into the nursery and looking at his things!
Will be thinking of you this afternoon Flowers

Edenslight · 01/02/2017 14:04

Best of luck today mrs, hope all goes well.

It's amazing how quickly the thrill of reassurance wears off though! I was determined to leave the detachment behind me yesterday and try to connect but I just can't get excited. I don't know if I'm scared or have just killed all my happy genes with all my worrying Confused

Gingerbreadmam · 01/02/2017 14:18

Hope today goes well mrs.

Im staying detached i think until at least after anomally scan although fingers crossed be great results. Starting to feel more nauseous now which is reassuring.

Starting progesterone tonight too, finally got them to prescribe me some, altho a lower dose than normal but hey ho wont hurt to try it!

Bleeding, touch wood, seems to finally be tailing off.

littlepooch · 01/02/2017 15:36

Good luck for today mrspartridge.

Those little vests are so diddy aren't they purple. I was packing away some of DD's old clothes last week and couldn't believe how tiny some of her first vests were. And they were still far too big and swamped her!

eden I know exactly what you mean, I had a scan on Saturday and by Sunday I was back to worrying. Counting down the days to my 12 week one now. And the testing. I keep forgetting that's s other hurdle to get through.

Good news re the bleeding ginger I hope it stays away now.

Gingerbreadmam · 01/02/2017 15:41

Not quite stopped but getting there, hopefully progesterone will kick it into touch.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 01/02/2017 17:29

Hope it went well today mrs.

I've started to get a little excited, or at least talking about baby stuff more since 12wk scan last week but in my head still worrying about blood test results and anomaly scan. Definitely a lot of up and down going on.

Also very tired and struging to keep my patience with DD, she's very much in a "why" phase at the moment and I'm finding it very wearing. Doesn't help that OH is all late shifts this week so am on my own in the evenings and all I want to do is have a bath and hot chocolate and chill out but I just don't have the time!

Urgh sounding really whingy and ungrateful now sorry.

MrsAlanPartridge · 01/02/2017 19:10

Thanks all! Went well and heard that beautiful heartbeat Smile
Seems to be quite the gymnast! This pg is certainly different- the movements feel very different.
MW is lovely and despite not needing officially to see me until 26 weeks or something, she will see me fortnightly to reassure with doppler. Phew!

jpeg28 · 01/02/2017 19:42

Great news MrsAP!!

purpleviolet1 · 01/02/2017 20:59

Aww that's great news Mrs!!!!!!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 01/02/2017 21:00

Yayyy! Awesome news mrs , super chuffed for you Grin

Gingerbreadmam · 01/02/2017 21:07

Great news mrs.

doom if anomaly results arent back yet i'd think that was a good sign fingers crossed!
