Feeling really unwell & haven't felt baby move

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 13:07

It's been well over 12 hours since I last felt movement, 8 of those were me asleep.

Feeling like absolute shite, out of breath, light headed.....pounding head.....feeling sick.

27 weeks pregnant today

Don't worry about it quark. There have been a lot of troll threads on MN and they are often very dramatic and involve pregnancy.
People are wary but that is the fault of the trolls, not you and not the people who are concerned.

Glad baby is ok and I hope you feel better soon.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 20:03

I agree, some people genuinely look fine yet are actually gravely ill..... it's not always obvious.

Absolutely shattered after today, wish I could message the ex to let him know but I know yet again me & baby would be rejected! I know full well he wouldn't come running to check on us, if he did....then he'd have asked for updates over the last 2 months!

I guess it's just having someone who genuinely cares about me & the baby

Are you still in contact with your ex or has he moved on?

homeaway · 13/01/2017 20:21

Hope you get a good rest tonight op.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 20:29

My ex was with someone new within 2 weeks of me leaving, if I contacted him he'd call the police.

Don't think il sleep much tonight as the light outside my room is on! & because of the infection I'm freezing but they won't give me another blanket otherwise my temp will rise again.

They usually have spare toothbrush etc in hospital if no one coming up

Have they got your monitored - ie continual heartbeat via straps round you?

Assume you will be scanned so can see baby move

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 20:43

They listened via Doppler, won't use CTG as I'm not 28 weeks until next Friday.

No mention of scan

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 20:53

Ask for a scan. To me that's the most reassuring thing. To see baby

Not sure why they havnt offered one TBH

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 20:56

Guess who has decided to wake up, nearly 24 hours later, to let me know he's okay?? Grin

OP posts:
coolaschmoola · 13/01/2017 21:00

You can pretty much guarantee he'll keep you awake half the night kicking like a good un'!

Glad he's perked up!

Soubriquet · 13/01/2017 21:04

Least he finally perked up!

Strange they won't use a CTG. I had one done at 26+6 because I went into threatened pre-term labour

Ended up having the steroids to mature her lungs and medicine to try and stop the contractions.

They honestly thought Dd would come that day and because the NICU was closed at my hospital, I got blue lighted in an ambulance to another one 3 hours away.

3 days there and they managed to stop the contractions and Dd stayed put for another 11 weeks

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 21:08

He won't stop kicking now, so relieved!
Was falling asleep but decided to stay awake & enjoy the feeling of him kicking!

Omg! Thank god she stayed put!
I'm trying to keep my liquid levels up, going wee loads!

Waiting for them to turn the bloody lights off!

Oh yes they do!

Would this just be a coincidence or because I'm ill??

He was kicking loads before I fell asleep, well he's back to sleep again now.

Just had temp taken, its gone back up again....head is pounding.

Just took some paracetamol & anti sickness, as the nausea I felt when I woke up was horrendous!

Went to the vending machine to get a nice cold fizzy bottle of Fanta....have money but no bloody change! I was gutted and became emotional, I had to settle for cold tap water.

So glad baby is ok OP. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon. Sorry you don't seem to have much support Flowers

Pinkapple47 · 14/01/2017 04:54

My ds did similar, anterior placenta so felt nothing pretty much. I was monitored several times a week for the last 10 weeks, and each time my heart stopped for a few moments while they could find the heartbeat.
Flowers you will both be just fine

Quarksoundslikequack · 14/01/2017 09:32

Well baby seems to have peeked up.

He seems happy.

They don't know where the infection is so want to do a throat swab, another urine sample and a chest x ray.

Because my temp kept going up and down during the night, they are keeping me in again today, having IV antibiotics for rest of today and then oral tonight. Once my temp has stayed down for 24 hours then I can go home.

Quarksoundslikequack · 14/01/2017 09:35

Perked* not peeked lol

Glad baby Quark is ok and hope you feel better soon.

I went in for monitoring for reduced movements a couple of weeks ago. The midwife said they'd rather see someone a hundred times if you were worried, than you not go in

Quarksoundslikequack · 14/01/2017 09:51

After yesterday & the fact it took him nearly 24 hours to move, even though he is okay....I won't be dilly dallying as to whether to come in.

Especially after watching Corrie the other night (it's affected me way more than I realised)

OP posts:
Quarksoundslikequack · 14/01/2017 10:21

Okay, now the loneliness has set in!

This is the reason I didn't want to go on mat leave until the day before baby quark was due....I don't cope in my own company very well at all.

Considering asking for oral antibiotics now & going home

OP posts:
Venusflytwat · 14/01/2017 10:25

Quark you need to stay out for today love.
Your baby needs you to be properly well. Believe m they wouldn't be offering you IV antibiotics if you didn't need them.

Have you got the kindle app on your phone?

Venusflytwat · 14/01/2017 10:25

Sigh. Stay PUT that should have been.

Quarksoundslikequack · 14/01/2017 12:35

Staying in, more antibiotics now.
They think it's a chest infection after the chest x ray
