Feeling really unwell & haven't felt baby move

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 13:07

It's been well over 12 hours since I last felt movement, 8 of those were me asleep.

Feeling like absolute shite, out of breath, light headed.....pounding head.....feeling sick.

27 weeks pregnant today

Another one saying go straight to your maternity unit. Is someone with you?

passthewineplz · 13/01/2017 13:26

Please go to hospital and get checked out. Your community midwife can't do anything for reduced movements.

Re the earlier poster who said her hospital won't check reduced movements until 30 weeks. That's really worrying. Any change in a baby's movement should be checked out.

Please go and get checked out ASAP, don't wait for the community midwife to call you back just go.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 13:29

I've just rang the assessment unit, they want to see me....said they were really busy so there's a long wait ahead & to have some lunch before

Don't hang around waiting for a callback from a community midwife - IME they never ring you back. Call triage, and if they don't answer please go straight in.

You are following NHS guidelines to keep track of fetal movement and seek help if something changes and is worrying you. I know it's awful being treated like a hypochondriac - but some health professionals will do this across the board with all their patients. It's just their manner, and nothing to do with you. You're being a conscientious patient and parent. Good luck.

passthewineplz · 13/01/2017 13:31

Glad you're going to get checked out. Please don't worry, they would rather you get checked out than sit at home worrying.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 13:32

Absolutely go straight to mat triage. No should be on front of notes. Ring and go in

12hrs is far too long. I had a scare at xmas and couldn't feel bubs kick

left it 4:5hrs then rang. Mw at triage I spoke to said cone straight in and I should have called earlier

I said I didn't want to waste their time. She said always come in and they prefer that then a preg woman worry

Got there and bubs plugged in and imm heard heart. Such a relief

My own mw stressed if ever a big problem call HOSP first. Not her.

Hope everything ok and baby hiding as mine was. Little monkey !!!

Swifey · 13/01/2017 13:33

I would go in now, take a sandwich and a magazine with you. The quicker you get there, the quicker you will be seen. On your way in, grab a cold coke, and drink it once you are sat and waiting, it may encourage the baby to move. Make sure you tell them that you feel poorly also. Flowers

Swifey · 13/01/2017 13:33

Oh, and remember your notes! Wink

SleepFreeZone · 13/01/2017 13:33

Bless you, I assume youve tried the techniques often employed to get a wriggle? I would still going into the hospital for your peace of mind but in the mean time it might be worth trying to drink something very cold, sugary snacks can often work too

MrsAHotch · 13/01/2017 13:34

Please, please don't wait and just go. Being told you are paranoid isn't important. Being well and making sure that you and baby are OK is much more important.

ColourfulOrangex · 13/01/2017 13:34

Hope all is oki OP Flowers

MrsAHotch · 13/01/2017 13:36

Ooops, lots of posts since I tried to post mine Blush Hope you get seen quickly, OP.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 13:36

Midwife just called back, told me don't ring assessment unit until I'm 28 weeks as normally they won't see me....however, given the fact they are happy to see me she said to go ahead

OP posts:
Swifey · 13/01/2017 13:39

That sounds like rubbish to me! They will always see you! I would just go in. No prevarication, just get there! Smile

sj257 · 13/01/2017 13:41

Here they can't do a trace until 28 weeks but they would see you, check the baby with the doppler or a scan etc x

strawberrypenguin · 13/01/2017 13:45

They will always see you. Why are you still dithering GO. Ask yourself this - would you rather go and have everything check out fine or wait and find out something is wrong when it's too late. Go now and don't underplay how you feel either

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 14:03

I was just saying what the midwife said, I've still come up.....I'm sat waiting now

OP posts:
MollyRedskirts · 13/01/2017 14:07

Glad you've gone. Don't ever worry what they'll think of you, it doesn't matter.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 14:08

Someone tell me it's all going to be okay.
No matter what I've done, he literally isn't moving.....I want him to make me look stupid....to kick just as I'm being seen but I've felt nothing

OP posts:
JustGettingStarted · 13/01/2017 14:09

Have you drunk anything cold and sweet?

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 14:12

Yeah & led on my left, back & right.
Juggled my stomach loads....just nothing

OP posts:
ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 13/01/2017 14:12

No don't call your community midwife! Call your hospital - the triage or observation ward phone number is in your notes. Do not delay. Please please go. I know two women from school who "waited a bit longer just to see" and they both lost their babies.

MrsAHotch · 13/01/2017 14:15

OP, just go as previous posters have said. The sooner you go, the sooner you can be checked and if anything needs to be monitored or done, it can be. Follow your instinct Flowers
