Feeling really unwell & haven't felt baby move

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 13:07

It's been well over 12 hours since I last felt movement, 8 of those were me asleep.

Feeling like absolute shite, out of breath, light headed.....pounding head.....feeling sick.

27 weeks pregnant today

OP glad you are being checked out finally and hope your sister will be there soon to keep you company.

I had to go to Mat Assess twice in late pregnancy as DC stopped moving. Like you I had tried cold drinks/sweet food. He was absolutely fine both times and is not perfect, healthy and on my knee getting a big cuddle.

It was really scary both times until I was hooked up and could hear his heartbeat and got the play from HCPs.

However you, or anyone reading this, should never waste time in contacting Mat Assess to seek advice if this happens. Not everyone is as lucky as I was and just had a snoozy baby

What have they said about the KET, PH & PRO in your urine sample?

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 17:07

They are checking my urine now, still waiting on blood test.

They are working out what they are going to do & come let me know depending on blood test & also urine sample

They will probably keep you in until you are fully well and baby responds how he is supposed to

Glad he's ok though

123bananas · 13/01/2017 17:10

Glad you have been seen, baby is ok and doctor is checking everything properly. Hope it is viral and you don't need antibiotics.

Maternity use mahoosive cannulas to allow more fluids/blood to be given in an emergency. I still have the scars from those grey fuckers.

Ketones are generally a sign you may be dehydrated so try to drink water (can also be raised if diabetic with raised glucose, but you don't mention glucose in the urine). Protein and pH not generally worrying signs for infection, nitrites and leucocytes with or without presence of blood is what they look for mostly.

Glad baby is ok. Fingers crossed you feel better soon.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 17:19

So bloody lonely in here!

SIL isn't coming in now because there's a chance now I'm being dealt with that she could get here & they send me home.

Just sat here waiting to be told what the plan is.

Ecstatic they found baby's heartbeat, a tad sad that the one time out of all the times I've been in hospital, I'm sat here without the father of my child....oh get a grip quark!! Stop being sentimental & hormonal you loser!

Okay so, after writing the above, the doc come in to do another blood test, I'm being given antibiotics & being kept in! Sad at no point did I even. Consider bringing anything with me as I genuinely believed they would send me home.

Are you feeling less unwell now OP? Must be such a relief to hear your baby's heartbeat.

Soubriquet · 13/01/2017 17:25

I thought they might!

You need to ring someone to bring in an over night back

I know it's an inconvenience but it's for your health and the health of your baby

toldmywraath · 13/01/2017 17:26

Sorry cross posted with you OP. You're in the right place to be looked after, hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 17:26

Glad you've gone to hospital. Always go. Even under 28w

MidMay · 13/01/2017 17:32

We love a big cannula in maternity. Though it's a bit ott for antibiotics, if you need it for anything else (fluids etc which they might suggest as ketones raised - prob dehydration as pp says) it's in and ready.

Can SIL/friend bring you in a bag (a charger for your phone, night things, undies, change of clothes, toothbrush & paste, toiletries, good book etc)?

Bobbybobbins · 13/01/2017 17:33

Aw glad you went Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 17:37

Crossed posts - sorry keeping you in but it's for the best

Hope someone can bring a bag for your

Sorry you haven't been in contact with dad for 8w :(

Frazzled2207 · 13/01/2017 17:41

Just seen this. Great news about baby, sorry that you're so ill. I was ill when pg too and I think the body just concentrates on making sure baby is ok at your expense. Hope docs sort you out.

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 17:54

In my own room because of the infection, so bloody glad!

Last time I was asked to stay in, I left at midnight because I was on the Gynae ward and bless some woman, she snored so loudly I couldn't even begin to try falling asleep, just had a bit of a cry, seeing a couple where the guy clearly loves her and cares about her and baby.....sat here on my Todd currently feeling sorry for myself, waiting for a hot meal.

Someone tell me to suck it up!

Have you called/text your ex partner to let him know you are in hospital? He might come down. Sorry you don't have anyone with you at the moment Flowers

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 18:06

It's okay, there's probably thousands of girls in the same boat as me.

Can't call him, he's with someone else & has been since he left me in November.....I'm just being hormonal & feeling sorry for myself.

At least I've got my own room, phone charger & hopefully it's only one night!

passthewineplz · 13/01/2017 18:10

I'm sorry to hear that quark it sounds like you're better off with out him. Do you have a friend/relative that could bring you some stuff?

PetalMettle · 13/01/2017 18:13

Late to this, really glad baby is ok and hope you're doing better soon. Could sil come in now? If not we are all here to chat. X

Quarksoundslikequack · 13/01/2017 18:17

My SIL thought I'd be home tonight so decided to have a drink Hmm

Just text my mother, she sounded genuinely worried until I confirmed they heard baby's heartbeat & replied with "that's okay then".

I've got my charger, phone & earplugs, I should be okay for the night.

Just had a chicken curry but because I'd gone practically all day without food, I'm still starving!

Baby still not moving or kicking...I've an anterior placenta however his kicks have been quite strong for 4 weeks now.
