Hi ladies! Starting a new thread for those of us who have spent a while on the infertility board while going trough various treatments and are technically pregnant but too scared to join a pregnancy thread! Smile

Hi ladies,
Had our 20wk scan. It lasted 2 hours as the babies were so active. I think the sonographer was losing the will to live at one point! All is structurally well with the twins. However, Twin 1's femur bone is slightly outside the normal range. They have referred us to a fetal medicine Dr who we are seeing on Monday to find out more.

I'm really worried of course.

Apart from that as is well. Both on the smaller side of normal but apparently with twins that's to be expected. I also have a low lying placenta which again she said isn't a problem now but will monitor later. Xxx

Hi Lolly glad it went well! A friend's DS has the femur thing and he's fine. They tend to freak out when anything is 'outside normal range' but try not to panic xx

Lolly2803 · 08/03/2017 18:13

Oh that's good to know. I'm of course worrying and freaking out!!
Roll on Monday!

FraggleRock77 · 08/03/2017 19:26

Such a worry Lolly! I'm sure it's just a precaution though. Still tough on you. At least you haven't got to wait long until Mon.

I think the bathroom is one of the most important rooms on the house Bear. I love bathing!

Hope you're feeling better Raffles?

Mistle, great news about having a boy!

Glad the appointment went well MrsCrab.

I had another consultant appointment today and my cervix is holding out!! We had our Harmony results back and all low risks and confirmed it's a BOY! Two boys!x

Lolly2803 · 08/03/2017 19:44

Yes I'm sooo worried Fraggle. Monday can't come soon enough!!

Wahoo for another boy!!! So we're at 3 boys and 1 girl. Aw amazing.

I was tempted to find out today but we resisted. They made us look away during a part of the scan. Xxxx

FraggleRock77 · 08/03/2017 20:01

Hopefully the consultant will put your mind at ease Lolly x

MrsCrabtree · 08/03/2017 20:12

Congratulations Fraggle! A gorgeous boy!

Aw lolly that sounds scary but I'm so sure it'll be fine like Bear says. Glad you got to see the lovely little beans! Any more sex guesses from the pictures you got?

Hope you're perking up Raffles?

Cool news about the bathroom Bear. Very grown up!

Mistletoe hope you're enjoying the stuff Smile

X

Lolly2803 · 08/03/2017 20:17

Argh i hope so ladies. Erm I've got no idea to be honest. I was like a deer in headlights at the end so didn't even think! Here are the pics but not full body. Guesses welcome! You'll see a t1 and t2 on the pics really small. xxx

Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 06:56

Congratulations Fraggle Smile have you told your DS yet?

Great pics Lolly! They look so developed now, proper munchkins xx

Lolly2803 · 09/03/2017 08:21

They sure do! I'm still so worried about this Femur measurement. Of course I've been googling and apart from everything being ok the other things that have come up are dwarfism and a soft marker for Down syndrome. We had the Serenity test for Downs, Edwards and Patau and all came back ok so do you think I can at least rule that one out?
I'm so worried just want it to be Monday!

Any guesses on the sexes ladies? xxx

OP posts:
MrsCrabtree · 09/03/2017 08:35

Well downs is ruled out for you lolly as you say, and dwarfism is very rare. In all likelihood it's nothing, the average range is just that, an average, and babies grow at different times. I know if it was me I'd be 100% stressing too but I'm sure it'll ok. The pics are lovely.

I think you're having two little girls!! StarShock

Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 08:43

I think you're either having 2 girls or one of each. How far out is the femur measurement? Is it just slightly off? Are either of you little or do you have any short relatives? Maybe baby is just not going to be a very big person - or maybe just has a bit more growing to do. My friend who it happened to is only little so made a little baby. He won't be a beefy rugby player when her grows up but he's perfect xx

Lolly2803 · 09/03/2017 08:56

Well I'm 5"5 and my DH is 6"1 so not exactly small. But or family has a mix. Some tall and some small. Argh I hope so it's just the unknown isn't it. And the fact it's a person now not an embryo, feels different. I feel quiet tearful today!

Awww I kinda want to know what they are too.

Bear that's reassuring. Think will feel better when seeing a Dr. xxx

Oh you poor thing Lolly. Such a worry. Thinking of you. Stay away from google! The pics are great! We aren't telling DS until after 20 wk scan x

Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 09:30

It is all so stressful isn't it. Measurement doesn't look wildly off. My DD's head and stomach were both off by that much, but on the other end of the scale(!) I know they have different markers for different things and they have to check them out, but sometimes it's unhelpful they way they talk about/explain it, launching into all these terms and naming all these conditions that your baby might have. Downs etc is SO unlikely given your age and the fact that you had NIPT. And if you don't have anyone with dwarfism in your family that would be incredibly unlikely too xx

Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 09:34

Fraggle you're not telling DS at all until the 20 week or not telling him it's a boy? We were going to wait but a couple of my DD's nursery workers spotted my baby on board badge and instantly asked DD about the baby (aargh!) so we had to sit down and tell her that evening.

FraggleRock77 · 09/03/2017 11:04

We have asked family/friends not to say anything. Going to try and wait until 20 week scan. Just me worrying about something going wrong x

FraggleRock77 · 09/03/2017 11:05

I have had to step in on several occasions to say 'stop' people. And also had to defend my reasoning! Some people just think that your bump and info are public property when you're pregnant!!

Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 11:18

It's really hard isn't it! We don't have any known cervix or other issues so I did relax a bit after the 12 week scan but people would talk straight to DD about it before even saying anything to us. She's only just turned 3. We weren't organised enough to warn them and I completely forgot how it is with these things!

It is amazing how good the 'baby on board' badge is though. The trains I get on in the mornings are so rammed that you can barely get on some days, and yet people still manage to get you into a seat Smile

Lolly2803 · 09/03/2017 13:49

Bear I haven't had much luck with the badge. A few people get up but nobody at all does on the bus. I've had to stop getting it in the morning as it's made me feel ill so I've been walking 22 mins instead. I don't mind now weather is nicer.

Just heard the buyer on our flat has pulled out. It's not been a good week!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 09/03/2017 15:15

Oh no poor you Lolly! Really hope you get another buyer soon and don't lose the house you want.

Shame about the badge too. It's not easy and really embarrassing but you should ask someone if you feel you need to sit down.

Lolly2803 · 09/03/2017 16:53

Yer I should really I just feel bad - stupid I know.
Argh I'm feeling really fed up and tearful today. Lots going on at work too. Feel like everything is starting to go wrong.

OP posts:
mistletoeprickles · 09/03/2017 18:11

Oh bloody hell lolly sounds like you are having a rough few days. My nephew had shirt femurs, hes now a bouncy 5 year old with nothing wrong. He was shorter than his peers but has really caught up in the last year.
Lots of rest and Cake for you

Lolly2803 · 09/03/2017 18:23

Thanks ladies. Really appreciate your support. Tough week but we all have them!

Hope you're all doing ok xxx
