Awww lovely Bear! So colourful! I'm too scared to buy anything. Going to hold off till I'm past 24 weeks.
I'm 18+1 today!

I've got a private scan tomorrow to check cervix. What's funnelling? They haven't mentioned that to me before.
Can't wait to see the babies tomorrow. Hope they're all ok.
On Friday night in bed I felt a weird sensation like a wave in my tummy. Was wondering if that could have been them? Haven't felt anything like it since.

Eeek so exciting Fraggle! Can't wait to hear what the sex is. Any guesses or feelings? Not long for you either Bear!!

Ooh that definitely sounds like some movement, whoop! I've had a few twitches and flutters, nothing 100% convincing but I'm tuning into them more now.

We didn't buy anything for DD until I was 30+ weeks. Feels a bit less scary this time as the house is already full of baby and toddler paraphernalia. But won't be buying much else at all apart from a new crib, that can wait til July.

mistletoeprickles · 26/02/2017 15:42

We're another household reluctant to buy anything.
We have a small lock up with all the stuff we had for DD which needs to be sorted through so I know what's there, needs to be cleaned, binned etc. We have planned that for easter weekend.

I have a midwife appointment this week when we're hoping to hear the heartbeat and a gender scan at the weekend

mistletoeprickles · 26/02/2017 15:44

Posted too soon...

lolly definitely sounds like some movement. Mine there's but very random!

FraggleRock77 · 26/02/2017 18:29

Love all the bright colours Bear. I'm another avoider of buying anything after last time. I had nothing when DS arrived 11 weeks early and won't be buying a thing this time either!!
Lolly, exciting about movement! I don't know how to upload pics otherwise i would upload the 4D scan. I'm no expert and I'm sure someone will correct me but i think funnelling is simply what it says, that the cervix funnels at the top!! Not sure. Not keen to goggle it xx

Bear2014 · 26/02/2017 19:43

Not sure what came over me really as DD basically lived in second hand ebay bundle stuff I shopped for while heavily pregnant. I've found it hard to engage with this pg mostly, because of stress and fear, and i think I just went 'f*%#' it I'm going to try to get excited Grin

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and that Monday isn't too painful xx

Blueroses99 · 26/02/2017 19:49

Just to save frantic googling/worrying: Funnelling means that the membrane containing the amniotic fluid bulges out of the cervix because it has shortened and/or opened. It is a warning sign, and something that might be commented on if the cervix is being monitored so further action may be taken. The vast majority of women aren't or don't need to be monitored, and even in those that are funnelling is not common so don't worry specifically about this!

Lolly that definitely sounds like movement! Yay!

Bear they are gorgeous. Does it make it feel more real?

Mistletoe good luck with the midwife. Is it a private scan that you are having?

Fraggle I feel the same about buying anything...

MrsCrabtree · 26/02/2017 21:09

Really gorgeous stuff Bear! Star How exciting. I agree I'm so sick of being afraid about the pregnancy, half of me wants to just get excited and buy stuff. But I'm still not going to... maybe after 20 weeks we will get a few things. DH is keen to shop already Hmm and MIL is barely controlling herself!

Glad everything turned out ok Fraggle, how scary. Yay for movement lolly! That's great! I am only 14 weeks but occasionally I think I feel a flutter - still could be wind tho really as it's too early probably. I can feel a firm bit of baby through the outside of my tummy tho in the mornings when I wake up which is weird but cool.

Good luck with midwife mistletoe and exciting for gender scan. What's your guess?

I have a midwife appt in 9 days at 16 weeks - will she find the heartbeat at that one?

Telling work tomorrow, wish me luck Confused

eastegg · 26/02/2017 21:34

lolly that's exciting, your description sounds like movement to me! 18+1 here as well, if I ever forget I can always ask you!ngood luck with the scan tomorrow.

bear I love all the bright colours. Gorgeous. I'm another one who won't be buying anything just yet, too busy trying to find clothes that fit me!

My back's been bothering me this weekend, hope it passes. Think it's to do with sleeping in less than ideal positions because I can't really sleep on my front anymore. Think I'm trying to go on my front and then twisting a bit.

Started to let on to the world at large which is weird. Feels like a moment I've been waiting a very long time for, like breaking a spell. There's no avoiding it now though, my bump's too big!

Good luck with the appointment/scan mistletoe.

Lolly2803 · 26/02/2017 21:50

Aw such a happy thread tonight with lots of buying, bumps and flutters! I'm holding out for an almighty kick though. Hope it's soon!
Aw we are the same eastegg, not sure how I didn't know that before!
Hope your back feels better. I couldn't lie on my front for sure as I too have a big bump! But I'm more of a side and back sleeper anyway so no issues yet.

Mrs Crab your midwife will listen to the heartbeat yes. Our consultants assistant went to do that for me at mine and then when she saw twins said it wasn't possible and then got the scanner out. So they'll def hear yours. Exciting!

I've got a question for you ladies. I get eczema flare ups off and on and last week it's been flaring up. I've been putting a tiny bit of my 1% hydrocortisone cream on it but now I've just seen it says "do not use in pregnancy without medical advice". Should I call my Dr? I'm worried now! I get a few patches on my arms so I only need a pea sized amount but I'm worried I've done something wrong! Do any of you know anything about using those creams?

I've got a bit of scanxiety about tomorrow's scan. Not sure why! Hope it's not a sign and everything is ok with them.

Can't wait to start hearing what you ladies are all having! Is anyone else not finding out or am I the only one?
Blue you're the only one confirmed so far with a girl right? Eeekk exciting times! xxxx

OP posts:
mistletoeprickles · 26/02/2017 22:13

Mrscrabb mine is a 16 weeks midwife and she said she will let us have a listen so imagine you will too.
In relation to what do I think a sex wise, I'm carrying very different to DD I know it could be a lot of different factors but it says to me a boy. It'll probably be a girl because I'm always wrong!

blue it is a private one yes, my nhs one is only four weeks away but I need one between the 12 and 20 to stop myself going mad. I just want to see baby again!

easter I was a front sleeper, I can't now as bump is in the way. I'm now sleepy with a pregnacy pillow between my knees so I'm on my side but more between side and front if that makes any sense? Although last two nights I've ended up on my back!

eastegg · 26/02/2017 22:33

I also get ezcema lolly and it got so bad on my hands earlier in the pregnancy that I got some HC cream from the chemist and asked the pharmacist if it was OK in pregnancy, she said yes. I still worried a bit though so asked the midwife at 8 weeks and she was very reassuring. As long as you are sparing with it as you are clearly being then it's fine they said.

I'm also one who won't be finding out the sex if I can help it. IME it's brilliant not knowing until the end so stick with it!

Know what you mean about Scanxiety re 20 week scan. Mine's on 20th March so 21+2. I see it as a massive milestone, lots of things I'm not allowing myself to do/plan until after that.

Bear2014 · 27/02/2017 09:44

Morning all, glad everyone's feeling positive, great news!

Midwives in my area don't look for the heartbeat at 16 weeks, one of the reasons we booked our 16 week scan. But once you start to feel flutters I think you feel a lot less anxious on a daily basis.

I think it's normal to get scanxiety before every single scan to be honest, possibly even the 36 week one, we'll see!

I'm in love with my pregnancy pillow. It's basically a big long beanbag from a company called Theraline. It was amazing when i was huge with DD and I lugged it around the hospital with me the whole time I was in. It was also great for attempting to get comfy after my c-sec and I used it when DD was learning to sit up! She calls it her big red pillow and I have to wrestle it off her now, I need it more than her Wink

RafflesMaidenSister · 27/02/2017 10:08

Glad everyone is having a reasonable time at the moment - long may it continue!

Good luck to everyone with scanxiety, scans, tests and generalised terror and disbelief this week. xxx

Lolly2803 · 27/02/2017 10:32

I'll look that pillow up Bear. Think I'll need it to get comfy soon!
Well I've woken up with a rash on my bump, boobs and chest oh and a nice red rashy chin, under eyes, cheek bones and under my nose! Made a Dr appointment for tonight. Just want them to check it and recommend something to soothe it.

I've not felt any more flutters but I'm excited to!! Hope they are ok today will keep you ladies posted xxxx

It will change your life, Lolly! Most people get the Dream Geni or whatever it's called but this one has lots of uses beyond pregnancy too.

Hope you get your rash sorted! Sounds sore xx

Hi ladies! Hope you've had a good Monday.
My scan went well, cervix looking as it should and babies looking fantastic. All is well on that front!

However, the trip to the Dr not so much! Turns out my rash is called Polymorphic Eruption of Pregnancy. More common with twins and usually occurs in last 3 months of pregnancy but of course with multiples this is bought forward. The Dr was lovely and prescribed me some cream "the expensive one" according to him which hopefully should soothe it. Although there isn't a cure but it should subside when the babies come! It's basically an allergic reaction to the skin stretching. I don't have any stretch marks which is where it commonly starts but nevertheless that's what it is! Off to shower and smother myself in the cream! Xxxx

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 28/02/2017 08:40

Hi Lolly glad your scan went well and babies all happy. That does not sound great with your skin though, really hope the cream helps. Pregnancy has some very undesirable side effects! xx

MrsCrabtree · 28/02/2017 08:42

Good news on the scan lolly! Sorry to hear about the rash, hope the cream sorts you out x

Lolly2803 · 28/02/2017 09:09

It's awful. It's so sore, red and itchy. The cream helps and i do think it's a bit less red today. Although I've had to slather on more when I woke up and been lying with my top off on the cold bed sheets to help soothe it! My face is also really puffy and swollen today so my eyes are all small and watery. Needless to say I'm not at work!!

If my face went away I could deal with it a bit better but argh I feel awful and look vile. Really hoping it doesn't last for my entire pregnancy. I'll go crazy!!!

Happy Pancake Day! I plan on eating loads of them tonight, they are my favourite.

Gender scan tomorrow Bear!! Who else has a scan this week? My brain is not working!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 28/02/2017 09:46

Oh man, that sounds bad. Things do flare and get better again even throughout pregnancy so fingers crossed.

We're making pancakes later with DD. Sounds fun in theory, will probably be carnage Wink

Lolly2803 · 28/02/2017 10:37

Yer it's pretty bad to be honest. But hey ho! Really hoping it does ease!

Aw that does sound like great fun! I'm sure it'll be messy but that's part of it I'm sure.

What time is your scan tomorrow? I'm so excited for you.
Apparently my condition is slightly more common with boys!!!!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 28/02/2017 12:31

My first scan tomorrow is at 9:30 and the NHS one is at 2:15. Overkill, much?!

Hmm I'm still getting a girl vibe for yours but could be one of each!

Lolly2803 · 28/02/2017 12:44

Aw what a lovely day you have though!!

It's funny because people seem to either think one of each or two boys. Nobody has said two girls yet! I have no idea.
