I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hi all. Still nauseous and puking periodically here. Am now 17.5 weeks so it surely has to stop soon?? Saw the consultant today and am pleased they happily agreed to another c section as I thought they'd push me for a vbac. I had a big bleed last time so wonder if that made a normal birth riskier? I'm back to the GP tomorrow for another sick note and more medication. At least this means I'm getting a lot of knitting done for Christmas.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 18:52

How are people coping with housework? I'm not, at all. I endeavoured to put a wash on this morning and promptly threw up so gave up on that idea. I feel even worse when I'm surrounded by filth and clutter, though. DH is helpful at the weekend, but I hate living like this. Haven't even got the energy to run the Hoover around.

Had an awful afternoon, not sure how DS and I made it out alive. DH home now so I'm in bed with a hot water bottle for my stomach pain. I don't want to eat or drink anything but he has suggested chippy chips, so I'm sure I'll feel like eating them when they arrive Wink

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 19:09

LH Returns. Just re reading your post about poo baby because my pal is 26 weeks with terrible constipation.

I'm not suffering it too bad but horrendously bloated and wind not coming out and maybe other reasons but I also had to give in and get mat jeans. Just thought to send some mat jeans solidarity out there

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 19:12

Peace, sorry you had a bad day.
I haven't done any housework since started to feel sick. I just can't. If I'm going to work daily then my evenings are resting in bed and barely moving. We moved when I was at my worst (6weeks!!! And medication not settled in) and I can't even unpack because of the teaching in and out of boxes and moving around too much.

Totes regret my too-positive post of first thing this morning. Just thought if I put positive energy out there it might circle around. It's been a disaster day.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 19:18

Poor you South, I think you're less pregnant than me too Sad I agree if you're working then your downtime is for resting. Unfortunately I have an almost 2yo DS who thinks its a good idea to take every single toy he owns out of the toy box and scatter it around the house.

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 19:56

I think you are owed an extra special mummy medal for coping and parenting at the same time. Hope you can get rest absolutely whenever and wherever possible.

I can't imagine the taking all the toys out and even worse having to bend over and clear them all up!!!!!!

fourcorneredcircle · 10/11/2016 20:01

Housework? Yeah... No. Hasn't happened.

I can't stand cleaning chemicals so I'm no use anyway for bathrooms/kitchens and I haven't hoovered. DH has run it around once or twice but since we aren't having visitors (nor do we have any other small DC) it's not really getting dirty.

DH asked if I can sort the washing out from the dryer later. I'll have a go but I know he'll cope if I give up part way through.

He's been cooking for himself and teenager and will make me a plate of the plain bits of whatever they have )so, basically just pasta, rice or potato).

He's a good'un. I'll keep him.

There is no point wasting what energy you do have on an activity that will end in you being more sick.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/11/2016 20:02

Evening all. Sure you will be pleased to know that after being cocky the past few days I threw up big time today

Out for lunch with my dad and he asked if I would lose lunch today. I said no. Felt fine. 20m later lost the lot and sure yesterday's pizza as well !!!

Dad remarked good thing he had a voucher for money off !! Hmm thanks dad not !!!

Thing is food does help. Being sick on an empty stomach is awful. The burning bile isn't nice :(

Someone said about Heartburn? Yep have that and didn't bring bottle with me (at work) :( so will suffer tonight

Glad you finally got drugs. Take them. Will take a few days to get into system

Hope poo baby was delivered 😂😂

People say 12w as that's the first trimester. Tho my gp said 14/20/40 and he seems to be right. Def a lot better after 14w. Always sick once but could time it (8/9pm) then past week or two been a lot better again. Not sick every day

Tho still have the hangover symptoms and feel a monkey has shat in my mouth 😂😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/11/2016 20:03

Four. Rice is the worst thing ever to throw up. Every last sodding grain ! !

fourcorneredcircle · 10/11/2016 20:13

I haven't thrown up rice yet blondes... I'm not often sick in the evening though I feel very sick... I'd never dare risk it at lunch!!!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 20:16

Agree rice is awful.

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 20:21

Agree with blondes. I've brought up rice more that once. Your stomach literally keeps going until there isn't a grain left in there.
Good luck with heartburn tonight. Another miserable side effect.
My emotions are running a bit high tonight and not coping with news or the tele as it's all too distressing ... I should have an early night!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 20:26

South you been watching DIY SOS? I had to turn it off Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/11/2016 20:40

I had a curry on holiday and sick big time. It's like you can feel Every grain of rice come back up but it was a bloody yummy curry

And weird as it seems I'm glad I was sick today as felt so ok last few days that I thought someone wrong with bubs as wasn't being sick

Twisted logic 😬😬

fourcorneredcircle · 10/11/2016 20:58

I worry on the days where I'm not sick too blondes ... although they're getting less frequent!

auberginefrog · 10/11/2016 21:33

Hello ladies may I join? I am 20 weeks and feeling sorry for myself after latest development in the joy of pregnancy. I had 3 glorious days of no sickness or nausea and thought I was better then it all came back with a vengeance yesterday Sad even worse (TMI alert) my pelvic floor has given up (despite my trying to do the sodding exercises) so I am spewing and peeing myself at the same time now. I think I need some Tena lady products now... anyone got any top tips on how to cope? On stemetil which helps a bit and managing to keep enough fluids down but I just feel horrendous today - sorry for the big loan on first post here I'm sure that's bad manners

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 21:35

Aubergine, welcome to the pissing and puking club, pull up a seat and a bucket. If you scroll down there were some tips on positioning to avoid full pant wetting Flowers

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 21:39

We should rename to the pissing and pulling club.
Not watching DIY SOS. You will be horrified.... it was Teen Mom OG. I've watched it since it was 16 and preg years ago and there are two people in particular who are just so lovely and their story is really genuine and emotional. Tonight it just got me! I think I am dehydrated though. Going to watch missing now from last night. That's a bloody good drama, loads of twists and turns. On BBC, really recommend it

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 21:39

^puking!
Not pulling lol

auberginefrog · 10/11/2016 21:42

Ah thanks must have missed those - off to re read thread properly...

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 21:43

Not much pulling going on around here. The aroma of vom isn't that attractive, apparently.

I've hit upon something useful. Room temperature liquid stays down better than cold. I've managed to keep down a whole bottle of flat Lucozade this afternoon. I'm going to try pouring out a glass of water tonight so it's room temp in the morning.

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 21:52

No one watch the missing because a plot twist has become apparent that we don't need to watch. Plus someone just was sick and you can see it

Southlondon321 · 10/11/2016 21:57

Hahahaha the aroma of vom... new perfume! We must be pretty awesome ladies to be horribly unwell and stink of sick, wet ourselves, hardly eat and still keep our partners attracted to us #winisawin

I've never ever had a lucozade. I'll try one tomorrow. Found a newsagents near work with reasonable priced drinks. I love ribena so much! It's the only thing that's saved me. Also I've managed to puke up ribena and still be able to have it. Whereas other things feel like they are off my list forever!

fourcorneredcircle · 10/11/2016 22:04

South you missed our poor personal hygiene and aversion to tooth care to your list of our attractive features!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 10/11/2016 22:09

I usually hate Lucozade but it's been a saviour.
